  1. 47/50 Didn't get the Cayman (although I knew it was a Porsche - DOH!) And didn't get the 2CV for some reason. The rest weren't too bad.
  2. Coil packs? Does the NA have coil packs?
  3. First check to see if there really is an exhaust leak. (Big rag held over the tailpipe when it's running. Listen for the loud hissing sound to know it leaks) If there is no exhaust leak, start looking at plugs/Ignition system. As it's an N/A, check the distributor cap etc too. I say this because it happened so quickly, could have been an electrical connection that has gone bad. As this happens under power with popping noises, this just sounds like a plug breaking down under load. If it was a hole in the exhaust manifold or close to the manifold, the popping noises would happen on the over-run as it sucks in air into the hot exhaust. I had a set of plugs break down a couple of weeks ago on a track day. Car started popping and farting about under load all over the place. Just another direction in which to look. HTH.
  4. At least he didn't fracture a metatarsal!!
  5. Can I have the last 3 minutes of my life back please???
  6. Yeah, I know that feeling. Before IanC pipes up, I better own up to having a problem last year on the way back from Le Mans. Tyre was flat in Rouen. Space saver got me to Calais and then back to Norwich. We reckon we did about 300 miles (plus!) at about 50mph. But, hey....it got me home! (But getting overtaken by a combine harverster on a low-loader was the height of humiliation as we had 4 Supes in convoy!)
  7. Got the film strip option here on my version of Windoze XP Home.
  8. Make sure you clean off all that vomit before Sunday!!
  9. Nice pics. Aaahhh.....those were the days......when my car had paint on the front of it!! Looking forward to seeing the official pics and the DVD too!
  10. How can you disagree with that? All I said was that the N/A's have "a more linear power delivery and are not quite as likely to 'loose it' in bad conditions". I didn't say the N/A is unlikely to loose it, just less likely than a TT. i.e. both still have the potential to have some fairly serious traction issues in the wet. I think that's a fair comment myself. Also that the power delivery is more linear in an N/A and should therefore be more predictable, particularly when compared to a BPU TT or greater. Oh - and the stock traction control is not much help at all - it's rubbish! And as for the Smart car - which wheels are the driven ones on a Smart?
  11. I don't recall anyone saying they're SCARED of driving their Supra in the wet. Just that when you do, you need to give it a healthy dollop of respect. You drive an N/A I notice...... (Not saying anything bad or negative here in any way about the N/A but they do have a more linear power delivery and are not quite as likely to 'loose it' in bad conditions. )
  12. Me too! (And I only live up the road!!)
  13. We bought our first Supe on Friday 13th April 2001. Beautiful it was. Black, shiney, low mileage, immaculate. Unfortuately it didn't last beyond 2 1/2 years. This is how it ended up:
  14. I think custom making will be the only way to go. All these companies make them for the stock bumper. I'll see if I can find somewhere in the UK that might make something up. Not terribly hopeful though!
  15. Alot of these clear film products are made in pre-formed pieces. One for the bonnet front, one or more for the bumper, then small bits for the mirrors and the wings. The trouble is that if you have an aftermarket front bumper, then that bit won't match. I have done a fair bit of digging around and have come across some stuff made by a company called KPMF. See here Although this stuff is normally used for graphics applications, it also protects against stone chips. The adhesive is low-tack too apparently so it can be removed easily. I have also found the following supplier on Ebay: Here Hope this helps!
  16. So sorry to hear of how this one turned out. Both myself and Angie are sitting here with tears in our eyes now. We know just how you feel mate. You did the right thing in letting him go the way you did. What a gorgeous dog he was. Losing a friend is never easy.
  17. Aahh...sorry Stt. I've found the Crash Wrap stuff now cheers. Didn't realise it's removeable and comes on a 50m roll! May look into this further! Thanks!
  18. Thanks, I'll have a look for it. Would still like to be able to have nice clean polished paint though. I've seen the plastic stuff on TVR's but it never quite looks as good. If it's the only way to stop the stone chips I may have to go for it anyway....

    Supra Vs 3000GT

Supe wins on a 1/4 mile drag every time. However, when driven well, the Mitsi is snapping at the Supe's heels when it comes to the twisties! (I know this from personal experience on the track just over a week ago! And yes, it surprised the hell out of me too)
  20. Gordon F saw one about 2 years ago in a body shop in Norfolk. Although we never did find out who owned it! All I remember was that it was black.
  21. Would do, but it's bloody expensive isn't it?

    Supra Bra

Yes, I know they look bloody horrible! BUT, after removing most of the paint from the front of my car at Marham on Saturday, I think I'll have to track one down if I am to continue driving on airfields! At least my paint would be nicely protected from a pebble-dashing! Anyone know of a supplier? Lazarus - I notice you have a pic of one in your garage. Where'd you get it from?
  23. Yep, really had a good time out. And they raised £8000 for charities too. Robbies car was daft quick down the runway! Got some video of it stomping off into the distance at a high rate of knots. Now I have to change another set of brakes on Angies car this week again! (Rears last week - fronts this week) Thanks Robbie for the loan of the plugs - I'll get them off to you this week. McGoo - Thanks again for inviting us and organising our passes etc. I'll be in touch about getting one of the CD's of pics. Let me know what I need to do or who I need to contact. Apparently there might be another one of these later in the year! Woohoo!
  24. Angie and myself are still going. Hope we're not the only ones either!!
