  1. Lol! Agreed Paul - it's starting to sound like the 'warped brake discs' thread we had about a year ago with Mr 'Where's me turbos'!! Anyway, rear diffusers look cool. If you hack it up it just looks daft IMO.

    Biggest Bird Poo

Jade Goodie perhaps??? She's quite a big bird.... (I'll get me coat)
  3. Ssshhhh - she'll kill me now! Nothing to see here......
  4. Yep, sounds just like me!! My wife is a fair bit younger than me and has her own Supra TT. What else could I want??!! Oh.....and that post above by Angie (That's my wife) that was me - I need to make sure I'm using the right profile on the PC after she's been using it! DOH!!!
  5. At 35 I was self employed as a a motorcycle courier. I went to college and did a 2 year IT course. After my first year on the course (i.e. before I was even qualified) I landed my current job in an insurance company. Started on about 16k, but I now earn plenty more than that. (I'm 40 now by the way) You probably don't want to concentrate on the programming side of things too much as alot of companies are off-shoring the build work on many projects. (But it is still useful to know the basics) Having aome sort of systems analysis skills will probably get you further these days. To be honest, the IT bubble did burst a few years ago, but it's currently not as bad as it was in the late 90s. There has been a few years now where the numbers of school leavers taking IT has fallen dramatically because they saw so many graduates were unable to find employment. Nowadays, the vacancies are coming back to the jobs market. As for trades such as plumbing/bricklaying etc. They can pay great, but think back to the early 90's. If the housing market collapses, new building stops and you'll see alot of tradesmen fighting for work. Like everything, there are ups and downs that you have to be ready for. Decide what you want to go for and push yourself hard. You can make it before you're 40 easily!
  6. Since when did anyone say it was a 747????
  7. You mentioned getting an aerotop but also said she might prefer the manual. Unfortunately the RHD aerotops are all autos. (N/A or TT) My missus had an N/A aerotop and loved it. She eventually got fed up with the lack of power as she regularly drove my TT hardtop and now has her own TT. (And she still craves more power, but she's daft like that!) Her N/A aerotop lead to me getting a TT aerotop but these are a little harder to find. The TT will take a little more commitment to get the best from it and MUST be treated with a healthy amount of respect, especially in the wet.

  9. Exactly. What I was saying was that we all KNOW that aircraft flew into the WTC because it was all filmed and shown on the TV. And with a little digging, we can find out what parts of a plane did survive the carnage of the impact and subsequent explosion. Parts of the landing gear usually survive. Someone asked what happened to it and I answered the question. In the case of the Pentagon, we are not sure of what happened as there is no reliable footage of the incident. I agree there should have been some debris, but the pentagon isn't the sort of place where they let the public go looking for it. Also, there have been plenty of 'doctored' pictures of the pentagon crash site all over the internet over the last few years. Some show more damage than others. I really don't know what went on there. And I would not be terribly surprised to find out that one of the conspiracy theories was true. I like to keep a open mind on most of this stuff.
  10. The landing gear in the WTC attack was recovered. I think one of the nose wheels was recovered from somewhere further north off Church Street. I seem to remember it is now on display in the USS Intrepid museum in Manhattan. Next.......?
  11. Yeah - unfortunately when I took it on the RAF Marham track day I stone chipped most of the paint off the front of the car.
  12. So does this mean that if I lie flat on a pair of bathroom scales, I'll instantly lose that 2 stone I wanted to get rid of??? Please??
  13. Not sure my car will be out of the paint shop for 4th. Don't suppose everyone can make 11th?
  14. Yep, I had my installation booked for this Saturday ('cos I work in the week) I just got a letter today saying they are short of stock and are putting back my installation to June 12th. (Which is no good as it's a Monday.) Cock!
  15. Check the hoses on the wastegate actuator VSV too. If the VSV output hose to the wastegate has popped off, the wastegate aint going to open. Had exactly this problem on Angies car recently. 2 mins put it right.
  16. Make sure the double sided spongy stuff is thin enough. If too thick, you can raise the top edge of the skirt up too much and when you shut your door, it rubs on it, eventually taking the paint off.
  17. Great night out tonight mate. Have a good day tomorrow/now today.
  18. Not to mention how changing the aspect of the car affects weight distribution. This then alters how the front of the vehicle turns in and can make a mess of how well the rear of the car follows the front under braking if you take too much weight off the rear.

    My new beast?!??

That's what leathers are for! Anyway, didn't anyone see what I said about the colours etc.? I went through all the colours etc with a fine tooth comb before buying one brand new in 1999. The models with the purple seat units didn't come out of the factory at all after the P3 model. The P4 went on sale in early 1999. From that model onwards the frames were ALL black. This bike is at the newest a late P3 which I reckon would be likely to put its manufacturing date at 1998. No way in this world it was 2000 I'm afraid.

    My new beast?!??

The colours look original - but only up until the P3 model - last sold prior to March 1999. After that the red was a metallic and the graphics were different. Also form the P4 model, (1999 on) the seat unit was the same colour as the rest of the bike. Most obvious though is that from the P4 onwards, the frame should have been black - not silver! I think the 'P' number makes up part of the frame number from memory. Check this one out carefully mate! As for comfort - I rode one from Norwich to Stranraer a few years ago on my way to the NW200 in Portrush, NI. It was so much fun I didn't notice the comfort side of things!
  22. Or this one. You could even have the logo in between the nountains as per the club business cards.....
  23. Off to Le Mans (again) in June. Was supposed to be doing another 'road trip' to the south of France in September/October where we only book the ferry and nothing else. Then just see where the road takes us. Last time we ended up in Monte Carlo for 3 days! Not sure if I can afford that one now though. Did 3 trackdays recently and cost us about £1000. (Running 2 cars) Also, the cost of repairing the stone chipping on the front of my car done at the RAF Marham trackday is going to cost another £1000. So we're broke now.
  24. Braid Interlagos 3-piece here! Or Angies with a Volkrace AV3's on the rear and something else by Volk on the front!
