  1. Nice pics from the pit-walk. Like the Audi and the Aston. Unfortunately I didn't make it to the pit walk this year, but I did get to the drivers parade for the first time!
  2. And that's a nice pic, that is!
  3. Thanks. (I like the No 7 Audi myself) Angies favourite car was the one below, particularly in the night time as it kept flashing flames out of the exhausts!
  4. At about 8.45pm north of Le Mans near St. Saturnin (On the Alencon rd) Silver Supe, pic below. Anyone here? Looks like L750 ***
  5. Anyone else got any pics they might have taken at Le Mans? Here are a few of the race I took on Saturday:
  6. I rather liked this one I was sent a few years back:
  7. Not true! We just came back from Le Mans today and dorve the last 100 miles with the TomTom programmed to AVOID toll roads. Some of the roads we drove on were fantastic and NONE of them were in particularly bad condition. I know what you mean about NYC......but come on - who goes there to find good driving roads???????? The subway is fairly smoothe though!!
  8. Cheers! It was, however completely filthy as it had been hanging around the Le Mans car park for a day or two getting covered in dust! Just glad it looked clean from a distance!
  9. Brilliant....the classic 'Where's me turbos' thread!!! What was that chaps name again? Paul something wasn't it? You don't happen to have the copy of that pic with the dogs' paw in it do you?
  10. Sorry to hear you had problems mate. I re-encountered ny late 2nd turbo problem on the way to Le Mans and had the passenger foot-well in bits. Big thanks (again) to IanC (and his encyclopaedic knowledge of said foot-well!) who gave me a bit of advice on the phone to help sort out the problem. Think it's a loose connection somewhere, but needed advice on a couple of the multi-plugs. So in the end, not much of a problem really - just an annoyance. Had a great time at Le Mans though!
  11. Yep. that was Angie and meself, just on our way back home from Le Mans. Car is actually a J-Spec with a UK scoop. (Under cover stylee!) First time I've been spotted in about 2 years - cheers!! :D
  12. Hope to catch up with you all Friday at the lunchtime meet. Can't wait now!
  13. Of course you can make a Supra sound like a TVR. First, go out and buy a 350cui small block Chev lump, Throw that in your Supe, stick on a set of headers and a dual system with cherry-bombs and bob's your uncle! Easy!
  14. Aon have been around for years. They run a classic car rally every year too, so at least they seem like they are interested in cars! Be careful if you are using one of their specialist car policies though. Their 'Roadster' policy (underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance) with limited mileage is designed for second cars and you don't get ANY no claims bonus with it. When I wrote off a Supra about 3 years ago, I had quite a task to get a decent settlement from them too. In the end I made enough of a pest of myself that when I offered to accept their first offer (which they had refused to increase in over a month of arguing) on the condition I could keep any salvage I wanted, they finally agreed, probably just to get rid of me. Worked out ok for me in the end, but I didn't renew my policy with them. I'm with Norwich Union Direct now.
  15. Comiserations on having to go to a Quo concert!
  16. Not sure about that. That part looks like the plastic blanking plug which you insert when the roof it out. Might be best to check the description on the EPC too.
  17. Apart from the fact that this one had a full roll cage fitted. It would, no doubt have looked a whole lot different without it.
  18. Hang on - didn't you ask this question with regard to "using fairly stock cars as a comparison"??? Auto wins in reply to the question as asked. I have clocked a 12.87 1/4 mile in my auto with just a decat and a fuel cut defender - NO other mods.
  19. Well last year I went the hybrids direction, bought the e-manage/550s/FMIC etc, etc. Now I'm getting nudged to mod the wife's Supe too! One day it will all end and we'll both decide we're happy with our cars!
  20. Aahh - so it was YOU who couldn't spell 'Imagine' in Example 1! :d Anyway - manual button. You can go through the gears in normal auto mode by just selecting wach gear in turn. The difference when you use the 'MANU' button is that if you move off from a standstill with '2' selected, you'll actually start in 2nd gear. This is done so you can move off better in poor grip conditions such as snow/ice. Holding in '2' will not allow the car to ever see 1st gear and will prevent it from changing up into 3rd too. Holding it in '3' will mean you still move off in 2nd, but the car will be allowed to change up into 3rd as normal. Overdrive will not be active in MANU mode. Oh - and apparently the transitions between gears are slightly faster in MANU mode, but I have never actually seen that in any official documentation.
  21. You really should have used a tyre size calculator. There's plenty available all over the internet. When you increase rim diameter, you need to reduce the profile to keep the overall diameter of the tyre/rim package as close as possible to the stock measurements. Stray too far from the stock measurements and you will end up with an inaccurate speedo/odometer and as said above, where you cange the offset, you can also add load to bearings/suspesion/steering components and as you have discovered, you ca interfere with the arches. I have used 275/35/18 in the past which is pretty close to stock, but a 35 profile on a 19" wheel will be way out. Check this out: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
  22. Like I said, I knew what he was trying to say. What was on my mind was that it is really the coefficient of friction. When I studued elementary mechanics, I never heard of anything like 'grip coefficient'. Sorry for being pedantic.
  23. Oh - I have had Supras for over 5 years now. I've had RLTC for about 4 1/2 years on all of my Supes and I can only say to the doubters on here - try it! I'm definitely a fan and wouldn't have a Supe without it now.
  24. I know what you're trying to say here but......"grip co-efficient"???
  25. Manual? Not in TT Aerotop form like the car this thread is talking about!
