  1. The shutter delay isn't at all noticeable on something like a 300D or a 350D Canon. (I have noticed the delay that you are refering to in some cameras) I have a 350D and I just bought Angie a 300D second-hand off Ebay. Both are excellent and I'd recommend either to you. The 400D which has now superceded the 350D is said to be very good too, but don't chase the mega-pixel numbers for the sake of it - it's just a headline-grabber to get the punters to buy. Here's some pics from Le Mans 2005/2006. ('cos I know you like this sort of thing!!)
  2. Something going on in Sussex, Chris?
  3. Currently I'm switching between IE7, Firefox2 and Opera. My personal favourite is Opera - and it has the best track record for security over all formats of the other 2. Firefox is a close second, but as soon as I have it all set up just how I want it, I'll probably only use Opera.
  4. Sorry, Michael - I may have given the impression that I was getting hacked off that people weren't actually able to read what was put in black and white (or whatever their options are set to) in front of them. So I just thought that if I used CAPITALS it may be clearer for them. Hugs & kisses, Peace & goodwill to all. Brian. Mince pie anyone....?
  5. They're NOT ASKING YOU TO TYPE IN YOUR INFO! They show you all the details of your accounts and then (if you agree they are correct - which of course they are!) click 'YES' and they've got you. It's the fact this is a little different that I thought was interesting. i.e. They already have your account details which they present to you hence making the scam even more authentic.
  6. Yes, I know, but this is a slightly different take on the usual crap that we all receive on a daily basis. I still don't mind being warned about stuff as when I hear of something a little different like this I like to let my parents and other relatives/friends etc. who may not be so informed (security-wise) know about it. It's not so much a case of being thick, just un-informed. So i thought I'd do some informing.
  7. Just found this on the Corvette Forum - posted by a member in the US. Worth bearing in mind as it may find it's way over here in the near future. The worrying thing with this one is that they don't ask you to type anything in - just that you confirm the details they present to you are correct. Barstewards.
  8. A mate of mine was born at 'Rings End', Cambs. 'Where were you born?' 'Rings End' 'Well obviously, but where abouts in the country....'
  9. How could anyone make up such an unbelievable story?!! Hang on..........
  10. Welcome to the real world! Can't remember the exact year, (must have been early 90's) but I was working in the Police in Norwich (not too far up the road from Ipswich) on the day when Natalie Pearman (local prostitute) was murdered. Although she was only left partially stripped, there were similarities in that there was no serious attempt to hide the body and she had been left in a semi-rural location not far off a main trunk road. It was thought that she had been killed at another location and taken to where she was found in the boot of a car and dumped there. I had to arrest a number of people who she had been with (not a clients, more associates) in the previous 24 hours. I also spent alot of time interviewing other prostitutes and taking statements in the days that followed. What I found then was that a lot of these girls are on the game because their 'boyfriends' put them there. So many of them meet a guy who they start going out with. He gets them some drugs for 'recreational' use and once they're an addict they get told they have to earn their next fix - on the street. And if they don't comply the can end up getting a horrendous beating - then if they're covered in bruises they can't earn money anyway. They soon develop the fear and start doing what their told. Nice way to live. But it's only the girls who have managed to extracate themselves from this sort of existence that will actually say this sort of stuff. Those that are still on the block are far too scared of the consequences of being found out, so they'll tell the media etc. that they have to earn the money for their kids etc. Sorry, but it's got little to do with poverty in the local area etc. As with most stuff like this it's about someones greed. Not many girls go into prostitution as a career choice.

    Misused words

What about this one, CJ: Relieve/Relive Relieve: You can relieve yourself of the contents of your sack by knocking one out in the bathroom. Relive: You can relive your youth by buying a Supra when you're an old git having a mid life crisis like CJ here. (He's the one teaching us English and getting it wrong. lol) Hope this helps.... :d
  12. Have you ducted those side vents for the rear brakes?
  13. So did they forget to put blue on the white bit or white on the blue bit? Only kidding, mate. Good on you for going with something different! Not many would have the nerve. Want to see it whe it's all done, bet it'll look great on the road.
  14. Anyone seen the latest design for the Mustang? CLICK
  15. For any of you thinking of going to Le Mans next year - here's a little something to maybe get you in the mood. (Sorry for the thread hijack, Robbie! - oh - must get that video together from Marham sometime too, sorry!!) VIDEO
  16. Calm down, Bill. I did say 'great joke'. I only called 'repost' because I get it done to me so bl00dy regularly and I fell it's my duty to catch others out now and then too!
  17. Great joke, BUT: Give me an 'R'! http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=82369
  18. That could be a bit of fun! I'll have to get the exhaust fitted tomorrow. It needs to be on a 4-poster lift to get the stock exhaust off. I unbolted it all this evening but I couldn't get the thing high enough off the ground to remove it and had to bolt it all back together. DOH! I'm off for a drive..... :d
  19. Oh yeah - meant to say - I went looking for it in millenium yellow. Always liked it. And the factory race cars are yellow anyway!
  20. Agreed - it's certainly not discreet! The wheels are the standard fitment. I have my eye on another set but it'll be a while before I can afford to think of things like that - I'm all spent out for now, so one thing at a time, eh? At the moment it's too quiet - you can barely hear that it's a V8. So providing this evening stays dry, I'll be putting the Borla Stingers on - then it'll sound awesome! Alex is right - outright performance is not what I'm looking for. I like something fast but I think it has to be a pleasure to drive too. This certainly is that! And it's almost as distinctive as anything I can think of. The Z06 is quicker, but I wanted a targa or convertible for holidays to the south of France or around Europe, so this will have to do. I'm happy with it anyway.
  21. Oooh, yes, Phil. I'll still be about here - there are too many people here that I have come to know very well to be just disappearing into the sunset all of a sudden! If you have no objection, I'll maybe bring it along to a meet sometime. (Angie will be in her Supe for while yet!)
  22. Went and picked this up today. Been wanting one for a while now since I had an old '75 model a few years back. Didn't think I could manage a 50th Anniversary model though - well chuffed! Head up display, active handling, lots of gauges with all sorts of buttons to play with! AND on the 250 mile journey home it did over 33mpg - from 5.7 litres! Does 0 to 60 in about 4.4 secs too so no slouch. Unfortunately the Supras will have to go up for sale in the spring to be able to pay for it now! What a car the Supra has been though. It was a real predicament to figure out what to go for as I've been in Supras for 5 1/2 years - usually I have had cars for about 6 months before boredom sets in, but I stuck with the Supras for longer than anything I've ever driven. But as alot of you know, I figured the time had come to move on. And (IMHO) what a thing to move on to! What do you think? (I'll be taking better pics in the daylight on Saturday) :d
  23. Watch to the end. Cracks me up!
