  1. Would you be interested in these? They are Braid Interlagos, 18" 3-piece split rims and they clear UK brakes. Good tyres all round, but I'll measure the tread for you if you want. I'm not willing to let them go too cheap though. PM me if you're interested.
  2. I run both together with no problems. I think you have to be careful in how you install them though. From memory, you need to make sure your E-Manage is 'closer' to the ECU than the RLTC unit so that the EM is reading undistorted pulses coming from the ECU. (i.e. Not distorted by the RLTC unit when it is enforcing injector cut)
  3. Damn - just got back from holiday expecting it to still be the 16th. Oh well - money saved!
  4. Apparently this programme is repeated on More4 on Saturday 17th and I've also heard it is available for download on the '4 on demand' site Watch it before you make any judgements - it is a very good program and has some very convincing arguments.
  5. So there we were in Monte Carlo a few years ago. The place is full of ferraris, Lamborghinis etc, so didn't expect much attention. But they love the Supe! This is one of the local couriers who slowed us down for a pic:
  6. Marlboro? Al_Qaeda.com? KKK? Maybe not then....
  7. Excellent! (Oh - and what a pasting!)
  8. When you say it is overfilling the expansion tank, is it actually causing it to overflow at any time?
  9. On second thoughts I might consider it - if you can assure me it'll be swept! I'll have to try and and get plastic sheeting for the front of the car to make sure the thing's protected well. (Angie's trying to persuade me here...she's considering taking her Supe again) Let me know the situation on sweeping and I'll let you know.
  10. Sadly, I doubt it. I really don't want to risk it this year. I can't afford the hole I developed in my finances last year!
  11. Oi! you cheeky git! Angie and myself were there last year as were McGoo and Robbie! Will the track/runway be swept this year? I don't want to put anyone off going, but I think it only fair to point out that last year I had to spend £1000 having the entire front of my car resprayed due to serious stone chipping. Granted I did do a couple of runs filming Angie,(so was driving close-ish) but there was too much grit on the track. Great track and had a lot of fun, but I'd advise everyone to get some of that clear removeable film to cover up the front of the car - it'll save you a lot of money! Probably the fastest/longest straight you'll ever drive on!
  12. You wouldn't expect so and I understand this to be the case. Apparently the engine runs way over its' designed limits and is subsequently very highly stressed and suffers because of it. I thought about a Noble instead of the 'vette last year, but went for the 'vette in the end. It's very under-stressed! (Plus I can carry plenty of luggage to Le Mans every year 'cos it has a huge boot!
  13. Agreed - it doesn't take long to get the hang of it. I've also had a few American cars in the past so I knew what it was like anyway. To be honest, in the last few years we've been doing more miles on the continent than in the UK so I thought this would make it even more of a good idea. (That was my excuse!) Overtakes aren't that much of a problem. A lot of my time is spent poodling around town or on a dual carriageway. When I'm on single lane A-roads, Angie is usually with me to help out with the overtakes, but even when she isn't I just sit back a bit further from the car in front to get a better view. It's a very minor inconvenience really. Like the Supra, overtakes happen pretty fast so you don't need much distance to complete them!
  14. Actually I don't have alot of pics of it yet as the weather has been crap for most of the time I've had it! (Bought it at the start of December) Oh - and I love it! Different animal from the Supe, feels a bit more refined, but just as much fun and the sound is awesome! Looking forward to summer when I can get the top folded away. (Still love the Supe though - this is just different)
  15. That's a C4 - basically this is a re-vamped 1982 car. Nothing like newer models. The C6 Z06 lapped the Top Gear test track faster than the Zonda and Lambo Murcielago. But you won't get a C6 Z06 too cheaply!
  16. Got a while to go yet before the post count reaches 1000...... Like my new avatar?
  17. Cheers - good to know someone "in the know" enjoyed them too. To answer Alex's question about how does the Corvette feel against the Supra. Because it doesn't have the huge kick at 4k that my Supra gives on hybrids, it doesn't feel as fast. But then I experienced a similar thing when driving a TVR. It's faster to 60, but I reckon the Supra is quicker above that. But then My supra isn't a stock car, so I'm not really comparing like with like. To be honest, because it's fast to 60, (about 4.5 secs) and quick enough to 120, this is enough - I think I've got away with far too much for far too long in the Supe! Any car with a stock output of over 300hp has got to be a good starting point if you want to modify. And the 'vette engine is so under stressed that if it was have LS2 heads, a cam and a throttle body, then a bit of dyno work as the ECU can be tuned, I reckon it'd be blisteringly fast for a road car. Me? I just love the noise and with the top down in the summer it'll be a hoot!
  18. 405bhp out of the box Damn - too late - didn't you say 420?? (DOH!)
  19. Drool!! Have you seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYjoVnlIk6Q Absolutely hilarious!!
  20. If you want any advice on where to go, feel free to pm me. I may be able to point you in the right direction. A Y2k C5 LS1 can be got for about 19k for a nice one now. If you want the Z06, you'll pay extra but it could be worth it for the power!
  21. You'll get used to the LHD aspect very quickly. There's plenty of specialists around the country too, so servicing shouldn't be an issue. Parts are absolutely dirt cheap! The insurance isn't too bad - I pay about the same for my '04 registered C5 convertible as I did for my '95 Supra TT. You'll be pushed to see another 'Vette on the roads more than once every few months and it certainly gets as many (ok - slightly more!) looks than the Supra. Then there's the grunt off idle and the sound of a V8 with Borla exhaust!! Oh - and don't believe anyone when they say the 'Vette doesn't handle - it most certainly handles! I have Ohlins suspension on my Supra and the 'vette is most certainly better on the twisties. Don't get me wrong - the Supe is a great car for its' age and I still love mine to death, but things move on. Meant to say - I use my Corvette as a daily driver at the moment too. :d
  22. Unfortunately, I won't recommend them anymore - particularly if your car is black! The other one I would use is Spray Station on the airport industrial estate. I'll get you the details of who to ask for if you like? They seem to do very good work and may do you a deal for cash depending on the size of the job.
