  1. I thought that number was familiar - yep - topped out in 3rd.
  2. I've done it both ways. With the head on it can be done in a couple of evenings if you're fairly familiar with where everything is. I wouldn't do it the head off way if you can avoid it. That takes forever! (But you do get to grind all your valves in nicely and inspect your engine properly) I did mine with the head off seeing as I was swapping out my turbos etc. anyway.

Their other UK hit, 'Wild in the Country' might be better known?

Yep - I remember Anabella on that cover - she was under age at the time which caused quite a stir. Everyone at school fancied her! (Probably 'cos we all thought she was easy!!) The painting is Manet - "Le Dejeuner sur l'herbe" apparently.

  6. You do know that it can still have the 'km' tag on the speedo after it's been converted to count up in miles, don't you?
  7. Depends on the state of the tide. Going to Le Mans the last few years I didn't have a problem....until coming back last year - the tide was in and the boat sat much higher by the quay. The off ramp was subsequently at a steeper angle coming off the boat and I ended up scuffing the front bumper. Fortunately I haev a Stillen front end which is polyeurethane adn therefore very flexible. I had some paintwork done and it was ok. In short, they can't guarantee you'll be ok.
  8. You in Wolverhampton then? I remember Beacon Radio from my days in the RAF about 20 years ago! Oh - look great by the way!
  9. Sorry - I was too slow! Thanks for the reply, Ricky!
  10. Sorry, I should have said that in this context, the compressor is the turbine. I was just curious as to where the term came from - I'm sure there is a reason for giving it such a strange name. Take a look at the shape of these blades and see what I mean.
  11. Try Picstop. They have the Ultra II 4GB for £35.90 or 8GB for £68.90 How fast do you need it to be? Are you writing large-ish files (6 megapixel or higher) and taking multiple pics on a continuous shoot type mode? If not there probably isn't the need for some of the really fast cards like Extreme III etc that are available now.
  12. Ive heard of this 'potato slicer' type turbine blade before. Can anyone tell me what this means? Is this where each blade is in effect 2 blades?
  13. Erm, I think Ian has said far more than I could about these hybrids. The set I've got are the set that Ian is talking about. I fitted them about 16 months ago after he sold them. They've not been rebuilt - they don't need it - there's no play in the spindles and there's no leaks in the seals - they're all good.
  14. It's all to do with older cars polluting more. I guess the most severe restrictions may start with 30 yr-old cars and older (or something like that), but they are considering it - it's a white paper. I'm signing up on principal. Eventually they'll want to give us all speed limiters and the like and we won't even be able to do trackdays in peace.
  15. They wouldn't - but if all classics are only allowed on the road with permission - then they'd be very likely to get stopped and their permitted route checked I guess. Either that or if they implement Road Pricing with black boxes in all our cars......
  16. Yep - and I ran the same set for about 7,000 too - they are an absolutely cracking set of turbos. These are about to go in an advert in the 'For Sale' section too, so I suppose you might say that I would say they are great - but really - they are the best twins I've experienced. I'm only selling them because I'm moving on from the Supras. Our cars will be up for sale soon too.
  17. The government is looking into placing restrictions on the use of older cars. This could include cars as new as 10 years old and would include preventing them from driving in city centers etc. The worst suggestions are that for some classic cars you would have to contact your council to notify them that you want to take your classic car out - this would have to be done well in advance of any trip and include a route etc. The council could refuse you permission totally or make alterations to your route for you to be able to take the car out at all. Basically for some classics, they could only be taken out to go to shows etc. and even then maybe only a handful of times a year. I can't beleive this government is even thinking about this! PETITION
  18. From the description of this happening when blipping the throttle after idling for a while this sounds like Valve Stem seals. If you get sustained smoke when it's under load, this would be more like turbo seals. Plus, the turbo seals would be much more expensive to replace, so I'd be reluctant to change those before checking out the valve stem seals first!
  19. Yup - had this on two Supras as soon as I decatted them. It was valve stem oil seals - not the end of the world by any means. They can go on for a loooonnngg time like this, but it's a good idea to get them done anyway. Just keep an eye on your oil level and check your plugs now and again until you replace them. I've replaced a couple of sets of these in the last year and it's not a huge job.
  20. Most of the city centre. And no, Alex it wasn't you. (Think Angie might have realised if it was. ) This one had a stock spoiler, stock almost everything (orange indicators etc) Reg was M***EAH I think. He stopped on Prince of Wales Road.
  21. In tat case it could be crank seal - but keep your fingers crossed it'll be a camshaft seal - they're nice and easy to fit and aren't at all expensive.
  22. Well that sepends on how much it's been chopped already - but I'd say it's still worth it if you're oging to install and E-Manage as you're going to be doing A LOT more choppiing to install that! My fields harness is also kitted out for RLTC should you ever want to fit that too. Plus, you can take it all to you next car and save yourself loads of work there too...
  23. No problems - I'll give you a shout in the next week or two if you like. I have a fields harness too so it all simply plugs in and you're good to go. (Apart from making sure it's mapped right) Might be tearing it apart this weekend.....
  24. In terms of safeguarding your engine, yes it's definitely worth it. Also, I'd drop a walbro pump into the tank too. The E-Manage will allow you to accurately map the fuel delivery throughout the range. I ran IanC's old hybrids with FMIC, walbro, EManage Blue, 550's/RP and found it excellent. I ran mid 11 AFR's at 1.4 bar of boost and as Ian will tell you, it easily walked away from BPU cars. (And as I've now put the stock turbos back in my car to sell it, I'm soon to be selling these Hybrids/E-Manage etc too! )
  25. Get back onto the garage and clarify where it's coming from. In your first post you said it was coming from under the cam cover. In your last post you mention cambelt cover.
