  1. My thoughts exactly! I'm sitting here reading some of these comments (especially about the "cheapy cf moulded dash") thinking 'have any of you ever stuck your head inside a GT race car? The interiors in those look as rough as a badgers @rse! It's for racing - if you want luxury, buy one that's made for driving on the road - they make those too and that's why they're different!
  2. ummm.....errrmmm......woof!....NO....meaow? Yeah - that was it - meaow! aP3gzee1cps
  3. Was just noticing last night that the vehicle of choice seemed to be the Mistubishi L200 - on the one news report there was one painted matt black (including the headlights!) and a white one carrying casualties in the back.
  4. Actually - now they've just shown it. Maybe I misjudged him - he seemed pleased for JB.
  5. I think that must have been the drive of his life. Would like to see Hamiltons reaction at the end.
  6. Did anyone see if he was doing a bit of in-line skating?
  7. Who as that fat bloke lying down in the middle of the track...twice!!??
  8. Try it after every other time you shave.
  9. Oh, I agree absolutely - and I hope to god they NEVER build the 'vette in RHD. I think it's the main thing that puts many people off. If they only knew how easy it is to get the hang of LHD....
  10. Nice one, dude. Great looking car you got yourself there. As you say, the Mustang doesn't have leaf springs, but does have the live rear axle which is what people in this country criticise it for on bumpy roads. However, as I found out when I moved from Supra to Corvette, there's a whole lot more to enjoy about a car than just speed and handling. Driving around in that Mustang on a warm summer evening with the top down listening to that exhaust note will put a BIG smile on your face. And you probably won't be passing someone else driving the same car very often! I always laugh at the comments such as 'prehistoric leaf springs'! The Corvette is the one with leaf springs, but if people would actually bother to research these and not blindly believe the rubbish spouted by Clarkeson, they'd see that it's not got longitudinally mounted strips of metal at each corner, but one composite, transverse mounted leaf spring at each end with dual wishbone suspension at each corner. It's good enough for the Z06 to go round the Top Gear track in some pretty impressive company, so maybe not as 'prehistoric' as some would have you believe. It's idiot comments like this that you'll have to get used to when owning an American car, but TBH, I wouldn't get rid of my 'vette now for anything that'd cost me this side of about £50k. If someone starts with the whole 'leafsprings/doesn't handle well' cr@p, I just say 'Yeah you're right, it's a rubbish car - don't buy one!' Hopefully it'll stay rare that way. Enjoy it - it looks fantastic!
  11. Always wanted a Ferrari 512 Berlinetta Boxer. A little less obvious than the Countach that everyone else had on their wall back in the 70's - even if it was about 6mph slower. (According to my Top Trumps) http://www.enjoy.org/hstech/webclass06/ThinkQuest06/ferrari/A.JPG
  12. Didn't I see a reference to 'Sea Hunt' in the trailer? I downloaded it last night - will watch it at the weekend - watched as far as the end of the titles last night - looks great so far! Looking forward to the Cinema showing next week.
  13. Isn't DLNA the latest way of connecting? I know I can stream to the ps3 from my Desire HD which does fine for me.
  14. It's been nearly 3 years since I sold my last Supra, but I've never considered leaving here. Unless someone offers to pay me to go...... Good luck, matey!
  15. Coverage of this years Cookstown 100 is on this Wednesday night at 10.45 on the same channel.
  16. On BBC1 N. Ireland now (ch.973 on sky): how the Northwest was won. History of the NW200
  17. Petrol is actually already more expensive in France, Germany and the Netherlands. They don't appear to be rioting, blocking roads etc. This time around, we don't appear to be suffering more than other countries when it comes to petrol. Diesel is a different matter though as we are taxed higher than almost any other european country on diesel.
  18. Just got a new HTC Desire HD yesterday. This is my second HTC android/sense UI phone and so far I'm impressed. Ordered a higher capacity battery because of some of the things I use my phone for, such as gps for 7 or 8 hours when out on the bike. Totally sold on the user interface that HTC have had for the last couple of years. Very customisable and 7 homescreens with some new additions on the later iterations such as quick access to themes to jump between normal screen set-up and custom set-ups that are more suitable for concentrating on productivity/office apps/photography etc, changing all 7 screens at once. Sheer brilliance that just makes sense.
  19. Right - quick update. Just finished 300 miles in 3 consecutive days. (Thursday to Saturday) Thought I'd better build this into my training to make sure I can keep getting up and getting out on the bike for 100 miles, despite being knackered from having done it the day before. Felt pretty wrecked last night TBH, but not too bad today. (ridden nearly 900 miles in the past month) Just as well Angie does massage for a living! Her work on my legs and shoulders every evening has helped massively - would have had problems doing this mileage without her help. Will still do the occasional 100 mile ride between now and July when I ride the 425 miles to Stranraer in 4 days which is still going to be tough. Need to get out today for about 15 to 20 miles just to keep the legs loose, but generally rest up for a day or two. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far. If you are able, and feel like donating a few quid, it'd be very much appreciated. With the news we had on a possible fix for Alzheimers this week, it really shows what good research can do, but it all costs money. Even if it's just a quid or two, it all helps. Link to my JustGiving page is in my sig. Thanks in advance! Oh, yeah - is what I've done to my car wrong??
  20. I went to Hatton Garden in London. It's the diamond capitol of the City - I used to transport some stuff in and out of there when I was a motorcycle courier. (I think they figured that a bike was more discreet and wouldn't be caught so easy in London traffic - go figure) I found a really nice small jewellers there who gave a very personal service and made a ring to our spec. Then, when we needed the wedding ring, we went back and had that made to fit around the engagement ring. (The engagement ring was a 'twist', so with the wedding band being shaped, they fit into each other perfectly) Then we had a personal message to each other engraved inside each of our wedding bands with the date of the wedding. Price was very reasonable - even considering the extra work that was involved. I don't think we could have got these rings for anywhere close to what we paid at a normal high-street chain of jeweller. But you do need to go up and down the street a few times to choose the shop that's right for you - they're all very different and some only deal with the really high end stuff. (That scares some people off straight away as they think all the shops in Hatton Garden are like that - they aren't!)
  21. Try looking for Paul "Where's my turbos" Laing.
