  1. Lambos are ok until the maintenance bills start to pile up. (Or if it's a Gallardo, until it catches fire)
  2. I don't condone innocents being killed/murdered anywhere in the world. If the subject of the thread had been "state sponsored terrorism throughout the world at any point in the history of civilisation", then yes of course I'd have commented on those places too. However, that not being the case, I commented only on the topic in hand. (And who/where is "amercian"? Is that in the west country somewhere??)
  3. Oh my heart bleeds for Gadaffi. Every time I think of the people he helped kill and maim in the Trafford Centre. Every time I think of the people he helped kill and maim in the Warwick bombing including 12yr old Tim Parry. Every time I think of the people he helped kill and maim in Northern Ireland by supplying arms and explosives to the same Republican terrorists as caused the above atrocities. (I was born & grew up in N.I. although I now live in England.) Every time I think of the kids in Omagh on a school day out from Donegal with Spanish kids who they were hosting on a holiday. Having spoken to officers involved in the subsequent investigation I know that some of these children were sitting on the edge of the footpath just a few yards from the car containing the explosives. They were chatting and eating lunch - the post mortems suggested they were having a KFC. It was a nice day in the school holidays and these were just kids enjoying a treat on a day out. Have you got kids, Imi? This is the sort of event Gadaffi liked to sponsor - but he was essentially a good chap, right? What sort of deluded world do you live in? Go give your kids to some paedophile for the weekend. Just because he gives the kids sweets and makes them happy on one day does not make it right for him to rape them and throw their bodies in a wheelie bin the next. Gadaffi may well have provided all sorts of sweeteners to keep a lid on rebellion for decades, but he was a murdering twisted f*%k and I won't be shedding a tear no matter what they did to him before he died. Yes - it would have been preferable for him to have stood trial at the Hague, but the end result will do for me. The main thing is that his tyranny is over and nobody else will die at his hand ever again.
  4. If as you say, they are 3-piece, you can fix this without removing the sealant providing the inboard and outboard parts of the rims are correctly matched. Just let the air out of the tyres, unbolt the wheel centre from the other 2 parts of the rim - the sealant doesn't need to be disturbed and it will hold the 2 halves of the rim together whilst you then offer up the correct wheel centre which you'll then bolt into place. Just be gentle with the 2 halves of the rim when they are without the wheel centre to hold them firmly together and you should be ok.
  5. 2 definitely a Ferrari 348. 6 Ferrari 550 16 Bentley Continental Supersports 19 Fiat X1/9
  6. The latest update you refer to is the GT5 - Spec 2 update and is huge. It's been big news in the GT world since it was announced last month. First announced here: http://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-spec-2-0-dlc-details-standard-car-interiors-replay-controls-new-cars-new-tracks-more/ And some more info from release day (Oct 10th) here: http://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-5-spec-2-0-now-available/ The update means the system now caters for downloadable content (the Spa circuit etc), mid game saves (handy when you're racing 24hrs of Le Mans!) and you can now save multiple settings for your cars. Everyone got a Red Bull X2010 in celebration of Vettel winning the F1 Drivers World Championship at Suzuka. There's lots of other stuff in the update as well. I think it's a pretty good update to the game, myself. Been back playing it again for about a week now - as and when I find the time. All standard cars now have a (very simplified) interior view.
  7. Should've been silver. Who says 4.4704 minutes? I'd probably say 4 minutes and 28.224 seconds myself.
  8. I have a friend in Norwich who went on 3 not long ago. He reckoned it was ok if you were in the city - get 5 miles into the sticks though and forget it.
  9. Funnily enough, I just put a couple of LED spotlights in our kitchen. I was getting fed up of replacing the halogen GU10 spots everytime one went pop. These new ones are a bit whiter, but nowhere near as white as some I've seen. Each spotlight as 3x2W LED's in each spotlight. So far I'm impressed - they're easily bright enough and there's no waiting about for them to come up to full brightness. I have the energy saving bulbs elsewhere in the house and don't really have any complaints TBH. I have one in a lamp in the bedroom that takes a little while to brighten up, but not enough to bother me. If it reduces my bill, that's good for me.
  10. Really tragic news. Wheldon was also chasing a $5 million bonus if he'd been able to win after starting in last place. The plan was to split it with a fan if he'd managed to win. Sad bit at the bottom of the following article too about his mother who has Alzheimer's. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/racing/10/13/dan.wheldon.indycar.finale/index.html
  11. We're with you all the way, CJ. I remember reading a phrase from someone on the Livestrong website a while back where they said "I'll keep fighting cancer until hell freezes over......and then I'll put on my skates!" Keep your spirits up mate. You're a survivor. Incidentally, last Sunday was the 15th (I think) anniversary of Lance Armstrong's disgnosis - he went on to win 7 Tours de France after having tumours in his lungs and his brain. You've got many, many years left in you yet, mate!
  12. It's fact that you'll have to disclose any claim to the insurer of your Supra, but it would be up to that insurer's rating-engine if - and by how much - they would load your Supra policy based on a claim made on another policy because of an accident which was the fault of your named driver. Some insurers use systems that would only take into account the fact that you as a policyholder were liable for a claim on one of your policies and the amount of payout that it resulted in. Any other factors may not even be considered. This is not assumption - I used to work in building the software to implement these rules at a major insurer in the UK.
  13. If she's on your insurance and has an accident for which you claim, you'll have to declare this to the insurer of your Supe - even though it is on a different policy. This may well affect the premium you pay for the Supra. You might keep your no claims on the Supra, but if they load your policy based on the fact you've made a claim on a different policy, your no claims will be deducted from a figure that is higher than it would otherwise have been.
  14. My Android HTC clock does that. Just tap on the clock, select the egg-timer at the bottom of the screen, set the hrs/mins from which the count down will begin and hit start. Can't be much simpler than that, can it?
  15. No - in fact at the end of the programme it did mention that 1976 was the year when they finally had no deaths in F1. (Although there apparently weren't any in 1972, but they didn't mention that...)
  16. Yep - that bit at the end was really quite disturbing. There was maybe a 10 second period just as he arrived on scene where if others had helped Purley, he just may have had a chance of getting to the driver and perhaps getting him out - but no-one did. The desperation in his body language was so evident, even trying to wave spectators over to help him help the other driver. Then whilst he was using the extinguisher you could see it dawn on him that nobody was going to help and he seemed to have one of those 'aah b0llox' moments as his urgency faded. Really dreadful to watch some bits, but a riveting program. Can't believe watching it now just how bad F1 was back then. I mean, Graham Hill getting spanners off spectators to remove Jackie Stewarts steering wheel to get him out of the car! He was trapped in it for over 25 mins! Unbelievable. For anyone who missed it, you've got to catch it on iPlayer.
  17. How do you 'compute to work'?
  18. Day 1 complete. 122 miles from Norwich to about 10 miles north of Lincoln. Went pretty well - legs hurt but not too seriously! 109 miles tomorrow to Leyburn in the Yorkshire Dales...... Oh - I've put a website together where you can follow my progress LIVE. I have an app on my phone that updates my position every couple of minutes and shows my speed, altitude & heading. visit www.CyclingForMND.com Thanks!
  19. Didn't they send you a SORN confirmation letter? Did you SORN it online?
  20. I know a chap with a twin turbo C5 Corvette with the number BL03 JOB. He bought the plate from DVLA, and before the paperwork arrived they wrote to him saying he couldn't have it as it could be construed as obscene. He told them they had offered for sale and he had bought it - contract complete. If they tried to pull out of the deal he'd see them in court. To this day he still has that plate on his car. (You may have seen it at TOTB a few times)
  21. Excellent - thanks, Charlotte! I leave 2 weeks today. (Gulp!)
  22. Drove there a couple of years back. Stayed in Gardone Riviera on the west side of the lake. Venice is 100 miles away - not too far if you hire a car. Stelvio Pass is probably about 130 miles, but unlike going to Venice, it's not motorway all the way there. Definitely an all day trip! Head north from Riva del Garda and head for Trento - that'll take you via the motorway to save at least some time. Hang a left near Bolzano towards Morano. The road from there isn't very fast (SS40), but it's well worth it if you do go! It's probably a good 3 to 4 hours to get there. The area of Lake Garda itself is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy!
