  1. 'Drain Free' or some other similar stuff. You'll get it in Tesco or Sainsbury's. Be careful with it though as it's caustic and will burn you if you get it on your skin.
  2. I was just waiting for him to take out the side of the ZR-1. Stunned that they actually liked an American car......or 3!! Great episode - very factual! (Apart from the bit about 'chromed cowboy boots'!)
  3. Don't care really - tonight is the new Dodge Challenger and the Corvette ZR1. (Oh - and the Cadillac CTS-V I think) I reckon they'll slag off the cars to high heaven, but I just want to see/hear them being thrashed! Especially the ZR-1. Did you hear it's now done a 7min 22sec lap of the 'ring at the hands of GT-1 Corvette Racing Team driver Jan Magnusson?
  4. What inflation? The whole thing about the BoE being able to drop interest rates so far so fast is because the risk of inflation at the moment is diminishing rapidly. Commodities are falling as is the price of food etc. Oil (despite OPEC trying to push up the price by reducing output) is still languishing around $60 a barrel. (Down 5% today alone) That said, I guess that if the ar$e falls out of our currency, then we could have a problem. Anyway - as you said, putting cash aside IS a good idea. You never know what's around the corner. (Both on a personal level and national economic climate level) It's just a pity our govt didn't realise this sooner.....
  5. Yeah, but one day, after something called 'puberty', you'll be able to shave like all the other big boys.
  6. Not in English, he didn't! But hey - he earn's nearly £20k! Way out of my league, mate!
  7. Don't go having any accidents, will you? They old bill are rather adept these days at finding their way around the internet forums to get an idea of your attitude to driving on the public roads after you've wiped someone else out. And seeing as how your profile has pics of your car and your number plate on it (assuming you still drive the J666 thing) then you'll have royally screwed yourself. Congrats on killing a Volvo S40!! Now there's a car...

    Eve online

Well done Ian! Top job. Can I put 'Raven Capt.' (hope I've got that right!!) on my sig now?
  9. Nice pics. We hired a convertible Mustang last year in Minneapolis. It was a nice looking thing and fun to have for a couple of weeks, but the V6 was gutless - not that we would have been stupid enough to go tearing around in the States - they come down pretty hard on that sort of thing. Like the Corvette - lovely colour - but then I'm biased! (Also glad you enjoyed it)
  10. The Supe was a tight fit too. Not much between that and the 'vette, TBH.
  11. I'm addicted to my own cctv too, but then you knew that, Digsy! I have the fore-runner of Digsy's setup - the Motorola Homesight. Commented on it a few times in the past - and it's been useful once or twice when kids have tried to interfere with the cars. Its amazing who you find landing on your driveway... The car only just fits down the side of the house:
  12. I am SOOOOO glad they didn't use a Corvette! The last thing I want people thinking is that I drive one because I watch bl00dy Knightrider. F&F eventually ruined the image of the Supe for me, so they can stay away from the Corvette thanks.
  13. I had trouble up until about a year ago with kids messing around with my car. I had cameras/lights already in place and had various bits of footage of them trying to nick the valve caps etc and one shot of a lad trying to set off a firework on my driveway. After another incident last November, I had had enough and called the Police out. (I'd already reported other incidents to them 'just for info' so I knew they would have a record of the history of what had been going on.) When they arrived, I already had the footage saved on a CD to take away with them and showed it to them on a laptop. One of the Policemen reckoned he had a fair idea of who was involved. He said he'd take the footage with him and would be 'having words'. Since then I haven't had one more spot of trouble with the local hoodies etc. I think the fact that the cameras also recorded sound helped. One of them had a really distinctive (read squeaky!) voice. Cameras & lights worked for me anyway. Good luck in getting them to give up.
  14. Like the title of the photo gallery - 'Ferrari in pole Position'. lol
  15. For a while there were too many hybrids out there that were poorly built. IMO, this has ruined the reputation of hybrid turbos. I had a strong set that I bought from IanC a few years ago and they were fantastic. Never missed a beat. I sold them on abouat a year or more ago, but they were far better than stockers and utterly reliable.
  16. Quite correct - MOST The company that my wife used for her Supra insurance wanted the actual figure - which was probably about 15 years. Her previous company only recorded 5, so that's all they allowed her. This company continued to give further small discounts up to about 12 years I think. Odd, but some brokers/insurance companies have rules that are 'unusual' in the industry.
  17. Ok, I give up. Tell me the connection. (Flight 175?)
  18. But wasn't everyone praising Gordon recently for saving us all?? TBH, that was all extrememly premature. The way the currency is going at the moment, the BOE won't have a chance of dropping the interest rates as this would drive Sterling down even further - in fact if Sterling keeps this up, interest rates will have to go back up again. Gordon has f*@ked it up properly as we've got no money to try and buy some of the cash back to stem the flow of sterling being dumped on the money markets.

  20. I know it's a repeat, but I had to do it for old times sake. (Didn't know someone got 145 in first though - DOH!)
