  1. So nice to hear an opinion like this of the C6. Sooo many people just listen to what Clarkeson et al has said in the past and don't ever bother to try and get to grips with one in the flesh. Since buying mine last July, I have been constantly dumbfounded by the C6 and can honestly say I have never driven anything close to it. It feels so much lighter than it really is on B-roads, and I'm not referring to 'over powered' power stering here, I mean how it transfers it's weight when you change direction quickly. It's just so surprising how it deals with our roads so effortlessly. Mind you, if it remains a well kept secret and people continue to be put off by LHD, that's also fine with me. I like to drive something a little less common than most. Others can go with BMW if they like. It's their loss.
  2. Tonight, Bank holiday Monday. Black Supe, travelling North on Wroxham Rd, Norwich and then along Falcon Rd West. Registration as above. Anyone here?
  3. I quite liked these until Ian C said they look like a 'Clown's Shoe'!! Now I can see what he means.... http://files.conceptcarz.com/img/BMW/07-AC-Schnitzer-BMW-Z4-M-07-1024.jpg http://www.magicity.com/images/ShoeBeesWhtRedstrs.jpg Get a Mustang or a 'vette. RHD Mustangs are common enough. But don't worry about LHD - they're easier to sell in the future anyway and LHD is fine, really. http://www.motorauthority.com/content/thumbs/2/0/2009_corvette_gt1_championship_edition_package_003-0219-950x650.jpg
  4. V6 then. GT is V8 only. It's a 4.6 litre lump and puts out 300bhp stock. Don't get me wrong though - the V6 is nice to look at - after all, it looks the same as the GT apart from the lights and the bonnet scoop, but it's reeeeaaalllly slow. Angie tried to get one to wheelspin on holiday a couple of years back in an empty coach park. Even on full lock, it was struggling to manage it!! The GT isn't bad though. Not as fast as a Supe, but not bad. As for me - I can't think of anything I'd buy in the given budget other than a 'fun' car. Lotus Elise, maybe?
  5. What...a GT? V6 maybe, but I seriously doubt you'd have found a GT for £10k. I spent a fair bit of last year looking at Mustang GT's for Angie. The cheapest was about £16, but for anything halfway decent, they were all £18k and up. The V6 is ok for poodling about in, but it's dog slow!
  6. Not overly impressed, tbh. Maybe in a few years I'll try it again. Can't get any fort of sense out of it when I ask anything about the 24 hours of Le Mans. Tried 'Le Mans', 'LeMans', '24 hour race', '24 hours of Le Mans', 'when is the 24 hours of Le Mans 2009', 'who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 2008?' etc etc. No idea what it should do with my input apparently.
  7. Happy Birthday, tall bloke! (And AMG )
  8. Just don't go to Germany expecting to play! This is a whole other thread, but worth a read: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8041320.stm
  9. But the £40m cap won't include salaries, marketing and some other stuff that I can't remember.... ....so there won't necessarily be redundancies etc on such a scale.
  10. Done it too. It's a little topical for me at the mo as my Mum died just a few weeks back. All the best with the site if you do go for it mate.
  11. I was watching this last night on TV. (SKY channel 973 is BBC1 N. Ireland) Bl00dy bonkers!! Stoooopid speeds on narrow bumpy little country roads. Tonight they are showing practice for this weekends NW200 race on the BBC website between 7 -9pm and again on Thursday from 6 - 9pm. Friday on BBC1 NI is a preview of the race at 10pm and the racing is on live (last 3 races) by using the red button. There's also highlights programmes on next Sunday & Monday. Full details here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/nw200/watch/coverage.shtml
  12. This one for the Corvette was banned: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUtw0JhPL3Q Good music though.
  13. I have a nephew with 'HD-ADHD'. He can barely concentrate, but when he does, it's unbelieeeeevably clear!
  14. You tell us. The engine is built by Toyota....
  15. Or a Z06, perhaps? I'd love a ZR1, but if I had that sort of cash, there's lots of other exotic stuff that comes into the equation. However, the ZR1 would probably be the cheapest to own. (Not that I'm likely to find myself having to make this decision, you understand!) The only thing I have against the Z06 is that the LS7 lump is fairly close to being as tuned as it should be. If you want to do your own thing and keep modifying, it's probably better to do it to an LS3. But then, 505bhp in a stock Z06 isn't a bad place to be!
  16. Only about a hundred miles off his route then!
  17. Yep - and in the second of those links to previous threads, the description used by Ivan is spookily similar to the description given in this thread by bigcol....
  18. Not an MP, it was the Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner, Bob Quick. I agree with what you say though - there's probably much more to this than can be said in public just now. They'll have been up to something to attract the sort of attention the did from the security services.
  19. Perhaps THIS guy! (And to a lesser degree, the chap following him) Don't like to laugh at anyone having an accident, but this chap didn't do himself any favours!
  20. How bizarre! The very same thing happened to someone else off this very site about a year ago! Click
  21. Unbelievable!!!! One more, Liverpool, one more.....
  22. Take a look at this video of a massive dead snake. Interesting bit of commentary at the end about it too. CLICK
