  1. I had my Stillen front bumper done by Les Bedford in Norwich. This is a VERY reputable spray shop and he only charged me £140 all in. (He must do good work if Rolls Royce authorise him to repair their cars!) I had front bumper done (Obviously with the flex agent stuff in the paint), bonnet put back to metal, etch-primed and painted, both wings re-sprayed along with the roof and offside rear quarter. The whole lot cost me £599! I've used this spray shop for almost 10 years now and the quality is always just what I want.
  2. Angie and myself will be there too. We're bringing both cars to a major meet for the first time, just look out for the 2 black Supes (one a GZ aerotop) with the TRD badges on the tailgates. Funnily enough we're travelling down with the new neighbours, they have his 'n' hers Scoobies while we have his 'n' hers Supes! 1. millhouse (Fri, Sat, Sun) 2. Timwildman 3. Darren Adams 4. 3. You'll need to make sure that the cruise control ECU is still in the car. It sits behind the dashboard somewhere above where your clutch pedal is. It is a small silver box and has a 26 pin green coloured plug going into it. Retro fitted the whole Toyota system to Angies Supra earlier this year. Believe me, if some of the wiring isn't there, be prepared for a sizeable job if you decide to go ahead with it! You could always just buy a GZ!! HTH
  4. No problems Si. Give me a call and we'll meet up sometime.
  5. Just got my GZ Aerotop back from a complete respray (a colour change from Storm Blue to Black) done by Les Bedford. My wife's Supra had some paint done by him about a month ago too. Used him for almost 10 years now, and his work is fantastic. (The ONLY Rolls Royse authorised spray/repair shop in the area.) Does what he say he'll do when he says he'll do it! Can't recommend him highly enough. If you want to see the new paint on my cars, give me a shout.
  6. Welcome to the Board mate. Tell us about your car then....I may have spoken to you as I have stopped and recommended the BBS to a few new owners in the area recently.
  7. Don't worry about those, we're going during the day!!
  8. Ok, let's update the list. Don't forget Angie! Heckler MR.B 250 Second Jump Soop Dogg Angie Darren Blake FisherJohn
  9. These parts can be unbolted very easily, but you will end up with holes in the boot trims around the edge of the boot. Also, if leaving the car with no roof on for any length of time, if you don't have a passenger airbag, some thieving sh*t head may come along and try to reach over your windows to get into the top glove box. I caught someone trying to get into my wifes' glovebox like this when she had the NA Aero. :flame Dev Personally, I'd keep the roof in the boot living in this country! You could always install very 'flat' ICE!!!
  10. I reckon he's going to give a girlie a lift home and try the "Oh dear, I seem to have run out of petrol" routine......
  11. Hmmm....got me thinking now! Just one thing that I thought was necessary when doing this, but I was never sure about, does the auto Diff need changing for the manual box? I might have missed it in your write up, I read it a bit quickly.
  12. I agree with Wilfman. Take the rear lights out and clean up the bulb holders and the connections at the block connector inside the boot. Should sort it all out.
  13. I have always found this plug to be present on cars NOT fitted with cruise. Just the other day someone asked about what some unconnected plugs were for and they turned out to be for Cruise. My first '93 RZ didn't have cruise but it had all the wiring and plugs. But then my second '93 RZ only appeared to have the plug under the bonnet, not the 26 pin green plug behind the dash for the cruise ECU. The one under the bonnet, by the way connects straight into the cruise actuator. If you are thinking of wiring up the stock Toyota unit, be prepared for ALOT of work. Cruise requires inputs from speed sensors, brake pedal (Actually needs the dual contact brake switch, normally these are single contact) gear lever (to switch off cruise when you hit neutral), handbrake etc. etc. Takes ages! It is a good excercise in getting to know your car though! It also utilises power supplies form 3 different circuits. Only weeks after installing it on my car, I went and bought a GZ which already has it installed! DOH!!
  14. Nobody's mentioned the fact that in 'MANU' mode, if you select '2', that is all you get, you even pull away in 2nd gear from stationary. Thus a very slow start. When pulling away in full Auto in '2' you will still get 1st gear, but the up change will be limited to 2nd. If you use manu for getting off the line you must select '1'. Also (apparently) the 'transition' from one gear to the next is faster. You may notice gear changes are slightly harsher. When in full auto, the ECu smoothes out the gear changes, this doesn't happen to the same degree in Manu.
  15. There is a right and a wrong order in which to do these up. Mine has a sticker in the centre console glovebox showing what the order should be, I'll take a look later. I normally do them up centre first, both fronts then both rears. I tighten them up finger tight first and then go round and pinch them up tight. I know I've only just got this particular car, so not really had a problem, but even with our last aerotop they never loosened up at all.
  16. Anyone else still waiting for their general admission tickets to arrive?
  17. Directions: For you guys coming up from Suffolk it'd probably be best to come up the A140 from Ipswich direction. Just outside Norwich, turn onto the A47 Norwich Southern By-Pass towards Gt. Yarmouth. The first junction is the A146 signposted towards Lowestoft. Take this junction and head south towards Lowestoft. Within just a few hundred yards, turn right onto the B1332 signposted to Bungay and (I think) Poringland. After about 2 miles you'll come into a 30mph zone. There is a speed camera here so watch your speed! Just before you reach a roundabout, you'll see the Railway pub on the left. If you reach the roundabout, you've just gone too far! See you tomorrow.
  18. Come on guys....give him a break!! It's not finished yet!! A nice coat of paint and that'll look lovely!! He should take it out of the sun though, it looks like it's melting!
  19. So we now have: Brian Angie Darren Blake Charlie Ian C Defcom (poss) Anyone need directions? Oh, and Charlie, could you bring along one of those TRD badges and I'll pay you on the day?
  20. Can't see the pics but if the one under the dash is green with 2 rows of 13 pins it is to plug into the Cruise Control ECU. If the one under the bonnet is on the drivers side near the suspension turret with 7 pins and with a roundish profile to the plug, it is to plug into the Cruise Control Actuator. I saw alot of these on my car just recently when I retro fitted cruise control to my car, then weeks later bought a GZ Aerotop with it fitted anyway!!!! All that work for nothing!!
  21. One more thing, Paul. Sorry to keep going on about it, but I'm not confident you understood. A number of people have said this, but there has been rather alot of info being pointed out here regarding a number of problems and a number of fixes. Bleeding the brakes will sort out the spongy pedal. This will NOT make the slightest bit of difference to the wobble you have said the car has. However, this is the job you should do first as it is the most important. Don't drive it until this is done! If you need to apply the brakes at speed and have air in the system, you could find the pedal will sink to the floor before you have scrubbed off enough speed, and then you're really screwed! If you need to brake sharp for more than about 5 seconds at high brake pressure, THIS WILL HAPPEN! Forget the cost if you have to drive your car, get it sorted. The wobble you describe is caused by something either being out ot true (disc either warped or with something such as dirt/flakes of rust caught behind it do it doesn't sit flush on the face of the hub) or something out of balance. As you say you had a wobble at 80mph before due to the wheels not being balanced, and this still exists as well as a new wobble at over 100, I would say get the wheels balanced, they needed doing anyway. Then get that wheel stud replaced as having one missing will put the wheel out of balance anyway. By the way, you shouldn't be doing those sorts of speeds with only 4 wheel studs!!! Then start investigating the discs if the wobble is still there.
  22. I do know of someone who was about to buy a passenger side window motor off me because theirs hadn't worked for about 4 months. Before fitting it I thought I'd see if the motor did anything at all. It didn't.....until I pressed the Passenger Window Lock Out Switch on the drivers door!!!! Needless to say I lost a sale! I won't mention any names.....
  23. Don't worry, Si, we won't forget! It was more just for a get together on Bank Holiday Monday. Where's Ian C???
