  1. He's an odd chap, but today he's finally decided to review the Supra.
  2. Soop Dogg

    scam ?

My first thought is "If my computer let you know in some way that it's being hacked, how on earth did it give you my phone number?" In my case, the two have never been linked via any sort of registration etc.
  3. Shouldn't the title be "The Pope in Northern Ireland"?
  4. Saw a video on Youtube yesterday about GTSport having new tracks and 10 new cars - including a Toyota Supra RZ, 1997. Time to try it again then?
  5. This. TBH, I thought it was very nicely shot - some great images in there and some decent humour, but not a lot of substance. I have to admit I chuckled at the first 'celebrity' hitting the ground, but after that, they told the same joke twice more by 'kiling' another couple of celebs. The 'track' they put the BMW M2 on apparently consisted of trying to annoy an old lady and getting the back end out on a tight corner. Fascinating. And I still don't know anything more about the 3 'Trinity' cars than I did at the start. And why bother going to another country if you aren't going to explore motoring culture in any way whatsoever? I think they really missed a trick there. It would have been good to know what the Americans attitude is to other country's manufacturers, motorsports etc, in the same way that I'd be interested next week to know what motoring is all about in South Africa. Yes it was reasonably entertaining, but I also think it was about 15 mins too long and basically more ego tripping for the presenters. As for being a pilot, they've had how many months to put this together? It really should be up to standard from episode one. I'll likely still watch all 12 episodes though.
  6. Go on - just borrow it! It's only money, what's the worst that can happen?
  7. Right Stan - I'm suing you for breach of contract - I only sold the GZ Aerotop to you in 2008 on the condition that if you ever came to sell it, you'd give me first refusal! Nice Z mate - enjoy!
  8. NOW SOLD Posting on behalf of a friend. Chevrolet Corvette C6 6.2 litre V8 Auto 6-speed with paddle shift. Victory Red with black interior 430bhp stock engine, 60,000 miles, Head-up display, keyless entry, electric seats, sports exhaust, dual climate control, CD/mp3/radio etc. Current owner last 6 years. (since import) Serviced every 5,000 miles with Mobil 1 and new filters. Cheap road tax too! (Think it's about £235 as it has to go on 'PLG' rate) Regularly returns mid 20's per gallon, but will hit 60mph in a little over 4 secs and go on to 186mph. I've known this car since it was imported from the states 6 years ago. It's in absolutely immaculate condition, this car has been treated like a baby from day one. Apart from the back boxes, it's bone stock but is a comfy, reliable and rapid car. Owner is asking for £23,750 or near offer. PM me for any more details you might want and I'll put you in touch with him.
  9. Happy Birthday tall guy! Party time!!
  10. Just heard about this. A legend in his own lifetime. I even named my cat after him. I remember seeing him interviewed a handful of years back and the thing I remember him saying was that although he was in his 80's, he still woke up at night with ideas of new things to do - he was still genuinely excited about life and had lots more things he wanted to do before leaving this world. RIP - a hero lost.
  11. It's tuned port (multiport) injection though - direct injection is a much more recent thing and hasn't yet been included on a production Corvette.
  12. With foot to the floor pulling away in 1st, mine will do that too, but overall in the last year I've managed to average over 25mpg for more than 8,000 miles. The bulk of that is just local driving in Norfolk with a couple of long runs on holiday to France etc, so a good mix of driving. If I really worked at it I could get cr@p fuel consumption! With services coming in at just over £100 a time (no major service until 100,000 miles - could that be because they're confident it's reliable??) and insurance under £340 (not a specialist policy or limited mileage) I really can't complain. As for the looks, I said earlier I don't expect it to be to everyone's taste, but I like it - and that's what matters with all of our cars.
  13. I could pretty much do that with my Supra too though. It means absolutely nothing - the plastic cover is only there to give the car it's shape. And the GT1, 7-litre engine in the C6R is actually not that far removed from the Z06 engine, TBH. As I've owned 3 different generations of Corvette down the years and never had one mechanical problem with any of them, I'd say I'm just a little more qualified to pass judgement on the car then someone who has absolutely no first hand experience of it or any other American car for that matter. Take my word for it, look after them and keep them in good oil and well serviced and they'll go around the clock again and again.
  14. Ermmm.....what's the ar$e of a Supra made of? (The Corvette rear end - not JUST th eZ06 but the whole range - also has a girder behind the plastic - just like the Supe, just like most cars on the road nowadays!) One of the first cars I remember them making a point of mentioning with a deformable plastic rear end was the Porsche 928 - nobody complained about that. Really, kiddo - you watch wwaaaayyyyy too much Clarkson! Anyway - how can you say it's NOT reliable? 24hrs straight racing at Le Mans - you've seen the result. The smallblock GM engine was introduced in late '54, there's been more of these built than any other engine in history. If it wasn't good, it wouldn't have been the success it still is today.
  15. Oh - that's alright then - you've obviously done you research!
