  1. It will obviously be paid by the other guys insurance. Assuming he has any:blink:
  2. Just been involved in a big crash on the M1 outside Belfast:faint: It was rush hour and I was sat at 5mph on the inside lane of the sliproad. Suddenly another car went up the inside between me and the barrier at 60!!! It somehow managed to squeeze between me and the barrier (still dont know how!) and slammed into the car in front of me which in turn hit the one in front completely totalling all three cars. Unbelievably I only got minor body work damage down the side. I think the only thing that saved me was the fact that I usually sit 2/3 to the right of the lane. The car in front of me was central in the lane and it was totalled! First of all I thought that it was joyriders trying to get away from the cops. But when the car stopped it was an old guy. The cops later found out that he was an epileptic and had probably had a seizure while driving. Someone was obviously looking over me tonight.
  3. Quite right. I have seen resprays that looked perfect suddenly go cloudy under the clearcoat. Hopefully it is just contamination though you would wonder what a "professional" detailer could put on a new paint job that would react like that:blink:
  4. My advice would be to ask Enigmatic what product they used on your car, then go back to your sprayer for him to check it out. It may be a reaction of their polish with the clearcoat? You should leave at least a month between having the car sprayed and applying wax. It may be the new paintwork itself that is faulty? All paints are now water-based and if they are not properly dried between coats it can suddenly go cloudy. It is unlikely that leaving the car uncovered overnight would do any damage as long as the paint was properly cured. It is unlikely to be overspray from the other paintshop as it would not be over the entire car (more likely only the side nearest the paintshop. My recommendation would be do not go near it with a polisher! You may damage the clearcoat which should be perfect under the contamination. If it is not contamination then it is a paint issue. I assume that you have paid big money for your new paint job so dont wreck it by cutting corners now. Your paint sprayer should be able to suss it out straight away.
  5. I have a RX full decat on mine running the PHR street turbo kit. There is no problem with restriction. You get the best of both worlds. A nice burble on tickover and cruising then a nice raspy roar on boost. Not so loud that Plod can hear you from a mile off.
  6. Why dont you contact a local solicitor to recover your property. Even if they have gone into administration the car and parts still belong to you so no one is entitled to sell them. If they have dissapeared it is either fraud or theft which is a legal matter that you can persue.
  7. I would have thought there would be none. Brand new in the UK they were an expensive car. The sort of person who can blow 45k on a new car can usually afford to change them 3 or 4 years later and wouldnt want to be seen in an old car. It is guys like us who pick up a minter for 10 to 15k who really get value for money.
  8. Nice! It must be a great job for those guys. Thrashing fast cars and getting paid. That little Lotus is quick as well. Think it has had a little work done?
  9. Yep, its not cheap. £70 for 6 laps that lasts about 5 minutes!
  10. I wonder how long the cars last getting thrashed non stop day in day out by punters grinding gears, overrevving etc. It must cost a fortune in tyres alone.
  11. Did they make you drive more carefully today because of the conditions or did they let you push on?
  12. Yep, facilities were badly arranged. Dont know why the huts wernt closer to the pick up area. That way everyone could have stayed inside until they were called rather than having to stand out in the cold. At least we got a dry day yesterday. I`m sure it was freezing there today? I think that the Lambo and R8 probably are fast but because they are so easy to drive and comfortable you dont realise how fast you are going. The Aston actually feels faster even though it is the slowest of all the cars. Its just that it is nowhere near as composed and you think that you are going faster because it takes so much longer to brake at the end of the straights.
  13. Yep, I was there yesterday.
  14. Yep, full throttle. But it wasn`t really a propper track. Just two straights with a chicane an 180 degree corner at each end. So basically a flat out blast down the straight, dab on the brake through the chicane and ram the brakes at the end to slow down for the corner. Probably about 120 down the straight I would think. But it would have been nicer to have been able to throw them round some twisty bits. I guess that it is probably exciting enough for Joe public who dosnt drive a 500+ hp Supe every day.
  15. Just back from a supercar track day the wife bought me for my birthday. Got to drive a 911, Aston V8, 360, lambo and Audi R8. All different to drive but interesting to compare with the Supe. Aston= pile of sh1te. It is a big heavy lump and the brakes are an embaressment. The 911 is nicely balamced and easy to drive on the limit but dosnt have the grunt of a single Supe. The Lambo and R8 are really quick with awesome brakes but because they are 4 wheel drive and are controlled with loads of electronic aids you dont get much feedback. They will make everyone look like a good driver but I was left feeling a bit unattached. The 360 was pure magic. Probably not as quick as the two above but there is so much more feedback. A bit more tricky especially the stupid gated gearbox but when you got it right it was so much more rewarding.
  16. Hopefully sorted now. Took the car to the mapper this afternoon and he could find no obvious mechanical or electrical faults. He hooked up the laptop to the MAP ECU and did a bit of tweeking. He basically reduced the fuelling as he suspected that the cold weather was causing it to run really rich. I guess that the car was originally mapped in the spring when it was a good bit warmer than it is now. Also we recently built a cold air box with ram air ducts so the cold air is now coming straight in without getting warmed at all passing through the hot engine bay. We will do a propper winter map in the next few months and run this until it warms up again when we can switch back to the original.
  17. I dont have a multimeter so the best thing is probably to bring it back to the mapper to check it out. I have been in touch and he is happy to give it the once over. Just thought that I would do a bit of research to see if it was something simple I could fix myself. Probably better to leave it to the experts this time.
  18. Does an error code not bring up the triangle light on the dash?
  19. When I lift off it goes very lean (18) for a couple of seconds then it moves quickly to rich (11) for about 10 seconds.
  20. Will keep looking. Cheers Bud.
  21. Yes. Brand new Innovative Motorsports G3 kit.
  22. The entire fuel system is new (PHR stage 1).
  23. FPR reading went up to about 32 when I pinched the pipe.
