RS6, V8 twin turbo supercharger conversion!
mattysupra replied to mattysupra's topic in Non-Supra Technical
There is really no room. I cant get one finger between the engine and chassis anywhere. You cant even see the tubs from below or above! I would love to stick some bigger tubs under there but cant even get the exhaust gas out of the engine due to lack of space. Put it this way, you even have to take bits of the engine off to get to the oil fill. I will get a picy for you! -
RS6, V8 twin turbo supercharger conversion!
mattysupra replied to mattysupra's topic in Non-Supra Technical
For 30k you can do alot normally, Anyway i have a spare lump to hand:) but nobody has done more than 600bhp out of one either so im a guinea pig either way. nboost your ony about 1/2 a mile away from me. Maybe you should have a look under the bonnet and see what im talking about? -
Hello everyone, since i have a new project ( RS6 Twin Turbo 4.2 V8 ) i want more power. Its been mapped to 512bhp & 513ft lb. Now the car is restricted to go much more by the manifolds. ( i want 650bhp minimum! ) So i can have better manifolds made ( mtm want 30k! yes 30 grand )Now there is no way in the world i would pay this! I know things are very tight and the manifold would have to be something else and to be fair every one i have spoken to cant make one to fit! So my idea is to scrap the twin turbos, which will give me loads of room for my new exhausts ( V8 ,so two ) Instead of them i want to fit a proper supercharger on top of the engine. Now as the engine is low compression and my turbos are already pushing 17psi i guess i can run a safe 20 psi out of the charger. The problem is that nobody has run more than 600bhp out of a standard rs6 block and know one has supercharged one either, so i dont know how much it will take. But im willing to find out. Anyway what do you lot think? Good plan or should i stay with the turbos and mount them somewhere else? like under the car or something?

jamie, have you lost any top end pull out of the car. As a 'supra' charger is powered by the engine it needs to steel power from some where. Im intrested as i want to ditch my twin turbos and convert to a charger. ( also its not going on supra but a V8 twin RS6) maybe i should open a new thread to explain my plans?

If im allowed i wouldn't mind running my RS6. Been mapped now to 511bhp and 513lb ft. Would be nice to see what it runs before we give her another 150bhp:eyebrows:

To be fair you are talking alot of money to put the car write. A full re spray, wheel refurb, all windows removed and new rubbers etc etc. Edit by Pete - Please note the rules http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=82442

simple one here, have you tried another boost gauge in case yours does not read correct?

well i have played with lots of different set ups over the years. Started with jap spec They just not big enough, tried all types of different disks and pads to compensate for the size! In fact i tried some trd pads which lasted 6 laps from new of brunters test track. Worsted pad i ever tried. Played with high spec etc to. Better but still crap! Best set up i used was standard UK spec callipers ( think i paid 440 quid brand new for both callipers from Toyota) and 3G grooved disks with ceramic pads from ebc. I hear alcon is the best set up you can get tho. The problem is when you bolt these big brake kits on is that your master cylinder cant pump the right amount of fluid for the callipers to work correct. Alcon match there callipers to your master cylinder. People say to me that there brembo kit is better than there standard UK callipers. Is that correct? There comparing used and worn out disks, callipers with possible 80k on them and pads to a brand new kit! Of course the new kit will feel better. Fair enoughs the bigger disks may cool better but you now have a car that is not balanced under breaking with the incorrect brake pedal travel to power the front and rear callipers properly. They will be out of sink! I have proved my set up on track against many cars where there locking wheels up etc when they should not be. Its down to incorrect fitment.

sold my supra. He took it yesterday. So no blast around the lanes! Im a Rs6 boy now!

Hi, I will take some pics at some point this week and post them if i can work out how to do it. Not to clued up on the computer sort of thing. If i cant work out how to post them i will email them to every one who shows interest in the trailer on here so leave a post if your interested! I will also have a good look over and take it for a tow to check every thing seems o.k with it. ( it has not moved in 6 months and i have not used it in 12 months but has been used by friends a couple of times) If any of you are near Birmingham you can have a view and tow with your own vehicle if you want to see if your happy with it.

Car trailer for sale. I paid £1000 2 years ago so no offers. Wide body trailer that my supra fits on no problem. 4 wheeled with breaks and winch. Towes well but i think the supra is about the heavest car that you could put on it . Had a 924 and a mazada rx7 on it before and you cant tell they are on there. But with the supra on it i have never pushed it passed 75mph as you can tell your pulling some weight! ( might be because i care about crashing with the supra on the back ~) £800 07971199204 Matt.

silver supra with black number plates. Followed you down stratford rd and then back to your house which seems to be about 200 yards away from mine! I was in a black RS6 wanting to have a play but you pulled into your drive. Cant belive i never seen you before when your so close! That is if its where you live!
-
so anyway, who else has a supra which looks purple from the side ( green from the back ) with what i think was a black bonnet ( but not sure ) and a non standard rear spoiler the same as suprafans ? And around shirley?

Yep its dry but that rs6 is something else when it comes to the bends, and is easy cappable of 190+. Must say i shit myself when i thought i passed your car going the other way! But i went into super persuit mode and took chase after i managed to turn around. But i was also thinking what the f*** do i do if they floor it???? worsed thing was that perky had his phone turned off, i was trying to phone him to see if you had picked it up for some reason today while i was not there. ( come to think of it maybe it was a good thing that his phone off , as i might of ended up planting the rs6 into the side of it! ) thought i was going to get knicked by the old bill to as i must of hit an easy 100+ over taken people on the stratford rd

Hi i just chased a supra that i passed going the other direction on the stratford rd thinking it was suprafan72 's. Shit myself as his is ment to be locked up in our workshop! After i caught you up and realised it wasn't suprafans car you turned into the bp garage. Was going to say hello but ended up racing a m3 instead and then making a return visit back passed the bp on my way home for the second time. I was in a black RS6. Guess you wouldn't of seen me, even tho i was going the wrong way up the stratford rd at some points thinking i was chasing a stolen car!!!

Quality! Non of us have seen the paint out at night yet. If i had my head screwed on i would of stayed off the beer and met up with you to see the action! I think if you park it under the lights at the shell garage for 10 mins ( best light for them ) they should turn mega bright!

How do the wheels look? Pics?

Wood lane, barston. Near knowle
-
i dont know. I didn't ask. I was still in shock at the fact a standard rs4 had just blew my doors off around the bends. Come to think of it, the skyline and evo boys was just as shocked as me and it became the talk of the day!

S-reg ? I think the first rs6 came out 2002. Also the paddle shift is the fastest changing auto box i have ever driven. In fact i was seeing how long it takes to jump 2-3 gears at a time and it changes as fast as you can tap the paddles. I think you must be thinking of the old rs4 ( 2.7 twin turbo ) ??? The rs6 is a 4.2 twin turbo. And your correct about the fuel. I thought the supra was bad! Tripple it Its ridiculess !
-
To be fair, when you learn how to drive a supra properly in the dry there is not a lot that will catch it down a lane. It takes very big balls to drive one properly and a lot of skill. The rs6 is really really easy to drive compared to the supra, so a less skilled driver in the rs6 will keep up with or wipe the floor with 99% of supra drivers out there. The supra is a real hand full to drive quick around bends but possible. I have had a few sideways moments at well over 100mph over the years. The biggest problem i found with the supra is that the breaks can not keep up with how hard i can drive it. Even with uk spec callipers and trick disc's + pads. The rs6 really is the dogs bollocks tho. I am well and truly impressed with it. The best bit is that you sit with the steering on half a lock at a junction in the wet, then you floor it! The car does not push the front end or the back end does not kick out either. You just take off and by the time you have turned the steering straight your doing 60+mph. Its almost boring. Apart from the fact your sat there thinking ' how the hell does it grip 10x better in the wet, than the supra can in the dry ?? ' Its wrong and should not be possible!

So would i. been looking for one. The car sounds awsome as it is. The only thing the supra was missing was the sound of a v8. They also still sound good tho.
-
I will go and make one later!

I cant loose mine how ever hard i try. It just gripps more and more when you push it. But i did turn the traction control off last night in heavy rain trying to get it sideways around an island and it did just push the front end. The traction control is brilliant. On my supra i had to turn the traction control off, i found it usless! One of the main reasons i brought the rs6 and not a rs4 is because every one i know at donnington have told me that the rs6 is the fastest production car around that track, and is lapping 2 seconds faster than the rs4 owned by the same person as the rs6. The rs6 also has 2 turbos where the rs4 has none As for the weight of the rs6 i think it is just over 1850kg. I think the rs4 is about 1650kg
