  1. V.Nice Are you going to be running the Titan trans with this? Gonna be an awesome all-round setup
  2. These sound amazing! If I had the cash available right now, I would love to buy it!
  3. It's always cheaper buying an already built one, but it's not the same as going through the journey on building your own Like I said on the other thread, if you plan your build fully with the right tuner you can save a bit of money and get where you want to go. All the tuners on the forum are more then experienced enough to achieve those results.
  4. You can change the pistons or adjust the headgasket size to increase it. JP had 8.5-1 and then changed the headgasket to bump it up a little. Here's the turbo I was mentioning: http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?267300-Precision-GT42-7675R-CEA-Billet-1200-RWHP-Turbo It's a good price at that, and if you use full drag slicks on that setup you'll see 9's.
  5. Lol, thanks Craig. I learnt most of this the hard way by spending money and then changing back to what suited my setup more!! kaan2lee there's No reason to go so low on the CR at all. If it's low 10-9 seconds on pump you don't need that big a turbo either. That 4788 is when you want to go 8's I would look at maybe a 9:1 CR matched with a turbo like Jamie P had for sale. His car ran consistant numbers with it on pump fuel and no issues.
  6. Don't be intimidated at all bud. You got to save somehow, and the way you have your finances planned is your perogative. As long as you stick to your plan there's no reason you won't reach your end goal
  7. 8.1's is fast!! lol Are you looking to stick to a 6 speed and full chassis or go all out with a glide and tube chassis etc? There's no reason why you need to stick to stock compression anymore. A big cam can bleed off cylinder pressures and avoid detonation with a high comp engine as well. Matched with an engine management system like a Syvecs you can still run big power on V Power. This is why planning the combo with your tuner is going to be best. I only say this now as it saves future costs to swap parts out etc... This car below is a full weight and chassis 6 speed car, it runs a 3.4 with 9.775:1 CR, he also has run 8.3's on a 4780! He was going for the 7.9 record by SW later this year with a bigger turbo but ran into a few issues. A higher comp engine with the big cam will give alot more power and in the right powerband. You just need it matched accordingly. The stock 3.0 c/r with the 4788 is very laggy and you'll have issues keeping the boost up between gears. Darin Diachara had the same issues and actually went faster from changing back down to an 80mm.....
  8. Although its a good idea to build a block beforehand, your better off waiting till you have decided on your turbo/head combination as well. The C/R of the block is going to play a big part and if its a full out drag car you can run a much higher C/R. Around 10:1 is possible on the 3.0 with the right head/cam combo. With drag builds it's harder to piece together seperately as all the parts need to compliment each other for it to work efficiently. Re the blocks you can go with either one, both are used widely without issues. However my advise would be to talk to an engine builder and plan it with the whole combination in mind.
  9. Nice! That's a lovely curve and should be great fun to drive
  10. Ibrar your too modest! Lol It's a one of a kind build. It's gonna be a long time until someone puts so much quality into a build again. It's flawless!
  11. Congrats bud!! Awesome time in the conditions! I think it's gonna be tough to put more power through those tyres though... Sean @ Titan fit some 28"s under his mk3 so it is def possible. You've still got around 20mph on that turbo to play with and your 60 will drop on the 28's. Try it out if you can, you won't regret it and should be a giftwrapped 8 for you with your weight and power
  12. You must be counting down the hours! Lol I'm sure you'll be winning a few shows once your up and running
  13. Great choice on the wheel. This beast is going to need an epic photoshoot once Christians finished with it! Can't wait to see how the paint comes up
  14. Thanks guys much appreciated Definitely worth getting it on your iPhone if you have one, it is a cool app. I want to try and make an epic one of all the top forum supra's next, but it takes ages to edit and find the right soundtrack! Mario, Yeah the dyno cell wasn't too big so unfortunately got stuck a little too close for comfort! I run the 3.13 final drive. Same as in the UK/US spec 6 speed diffs. Hopefully will be out there again one day. Also some people were having issues seeing it on YouTube, if so here's a link for it on Vimeo
  15. I downloaded Imovie on my Iphone so thought i'd try and knock up a vid. I haven't used Imovie before but it seemed pretty good, and it's surprisingly easy to use on the iphone. Anyhow, let me know what you think! Hope you enjoy
  16. I'm not gonna make any guesses for the new turbo, but there's a couple I can think of coming in between the two lines there but keeping the top end power Should be great fun once it's done
  17. Sounds good, will be great fun on track as well. With some of the new turbo's being developed now I wouldn't be surprised to see a smaller one making 1000hp+ but coming in harder and faster. Out of interest, what sort of rpm were you seeing full boost on the current one?
  18. I knew a tamer turbo would be out of the question
  19. Lol That's ok then I'm not up to scratch when it comes to sounds so if they didn't seem expensive one's it's not much of a loss. Yes stock bumper with an aftermarket lip moulded on. Not a personal fan of filler bumpers but it looks nice and hopefully doesn't crack!!
  20. Hopefully will be with stonkin soon for a nice clean up
  21. Lol Haven't been back home to get some fresh pics but here's some from the port Disappointing thing was that someone nicked the sub setup below from the docks!! All I was left with was a couple of wires
  22. HKS Racing is a very good one. I use the Tial 50mm version without any issues.
  23. I wanted to get a new daily, so I decided to try an auto Supra. My white one was my first Supra so wasnt too sure what to expect at first. I decided to go with a GZ as it had all the extra creature comforts as standard. I found a 1993 with around 50k genuine miles. The owner had bought it from new and kept it mechanically completely stock! It was exactly what I wanted. So once price was agreed the shipping was arranged and I picked it up 8 weeks later from Southampton. The first thing that surprised me was how quiet it was!! My 2012 Passat was louder! Lol The drive was so refined and comfortable. The box was very impressive, shifting without realising and go kart like instant acceleration. It's so impressive that a car that's 19 years old still can compete and sometimes better modern comparisons. This was the 1st time I've been behind the wheel of a completely stock one and it's been so impressive I though I'd post up about it! Lol I suppose it may be luck that I found an excellent example but an Auto TT is a perfect bargain especially for the prices that some of them are going for at the moment. I'll get some pics once it dries up outside!!
  24. Good luck with it Would be good if you could stick a 28" ET Drag under there, guarantee you a low 9 high 8 with your power. It's hard work with the tyre you have but I'm sure you'll get there in the end.
