  1. Anyone selling a rear work meister s1 3p wheel as I've just brought the car and I'm missing the drum and split rim bolts
  2. Yes, I have checked and all are good. I guess it could be a bad contact in the fusebox maybe, but the fuses themselves are fine. It's weird, they were off for years, then one night they lit up and not seen them since.
  3. I have a problem with the background / button illumination on the heater control panel. I thought the problem was blown bulbs, but one night it was all lit up, every bulb was illuminated. That night was the only time in over 5 years I have seen it lit up. All the buttons and knobs work fine, all the LED's go on and off as they should, it's just the pesky backlighting that won't work. This was the closest info I could find. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?52238-heater-buttons-and-lights Looks like some members had similar issues, but no one seemed to get it resolved. I've got the dash apart at the moment and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or possibly a pinout for the connectors. I think it might be time to start poking around with a meter.
  4. Driving home from work and took a missile from a skip lorry at 100 mph. Looking for a replacement off side wing if anyone has one. Thanks
  5. I'd go for PoE. I just bought a pair of 200 Mbps units for under £50 inc delivery. I also use DD-WRT on a linksys WiFi router to connect an old Xbox running XBMC, to my LAN for playback on the TV. This works well too, but for the ease of use and higher bandwith I'd go with PoE if I were you.
  6. My figures from your list: Fuel 100 (over 2 cars) Insurances 100 (house, life and car) Service and parts 20 (both cars) Tax 30 Tel./Inet/HiFi/Xbox/TV 40 Clothes & Food (Not sure on this, she does the shopping) Garage (part of the house) Mortgage 300 Entertainment (Not sure what you class as this.) Mobilephone 0 Vacations (Varies) Health insurance 0 (NHS still seems ok) Gym 0 (Get plenty of exercise at work and home) This is approx as we don't live month to month. If the car needs petrol we fill it up. Christmas is once a year and we buy stuff at the time, cost varies from year to year. Same as vacations, we don't have set intervals between vacations, if we feel like going away we do. I fix my own cars. My mortgage is low because I could not afford a high one. I bought my first house when I was 18 when prices were good. I moved at the right times and now have a 200k house for £300 a month. I'd never afford stuff if I wasn't careful with what I do have. My parents brought me up to believe it's not how much you earn, it's what you do with it that counts. So that's how I manage to live on under half the original figure posted. If you do earn lots of money then maybe you don't have to be so careful and can pay for people to do stuff for you. Maybe you don't have to shop around for the best deals and stuff. I'd love to have more cash, but I have enough to live on, a beautiful wife and daughter, I'm in good health, and I have a TT6 Supra. That's all I need.
  7. I earn well under the monthly figure stated in the first post. I have a wife and one child. I run 2 cars. The Supra TT is my everyday car. The wife drives a Renault scenic. Wife only works part time. I have a mortgage and all the normal bills and expenses that anyone has. Apart from the mortgage we have no debts. We don't struggle to have things we want. A Supra isn't that expensive to run compared to any other car. Almost every bill I pay is bigger than the bill for the Supra.
  8. Would have never guessed that it was part of the aircon. Good find. Shame I'll never see it lit up though. I was looking forward to that.
  9. Magenta is an imaginary colour. There is no light in the visible spectrum that can produce that colour. It is a trick of your brain that you see it as you do.
  10. Yeh, the one by the windscreen. My J-Spec has the same, but I never knew what it was. Looked like some kind of shifter light that never worked.
  11. In the picture of the dash, there's a light up on top of the dash to the left of the speaker. Do all supra's have that, and what the hell is it. I searched but can find nothing. Dash came out looking great.
  12. I snapped a stud a few weeks ago when I changed the front brake pads. Some monkey had really overtightened them. I had to heat almost all of them up and give the nut a good thump to get them off. New studs from Toyota are around £1.90 each. £10 a wheel is better than a nasty accident.
  13. Thanks Ben. I have both the shims, just missing the "Anti squeal springs" for the offside rear. Picture is a big help. At least I know what to ask for now rather than those springy bits that fit in the holes between the pads. Cheers. Terry.
  14. I'm sure I posted this Friday night, but I can't find it now. Even used the search and it seems that my post evaporated. I changed the rear pads on my J-Spec TT6 on Friday, and found that I was missing the small springs that span the back of the 2 pads. One side had them, one didn't. They must have been missing since I've had the car. Any ideas on where to get a new pair, or do I need to pay Toyota a visit? Thanks. Regards Terry.

    Podcasts

What podcasts, if any, do people listen to or watch? I'll start with a few of my faves. Answer me this. FLOSS Weekly. This week in tech. Geekbrief. I got nothing on search, so if this has been done before I apologise:twak:

    Thor DSC-TSD

Right. Sounds like I should find an existing one, if it's there. In which case I will do as advised and remove any existing one and wire the new one in. I also have a Fcon-V wired in to the stock ECU. I'm assuming this makes no difference to the install? Cheers.
  17. I was in Tesco the other day and thought I saw your name on a loaf of bread. Turned out it said... "Thick Cut".
  18. Hi.. I have just received my DSC-TSD form Thor. The car still reads in Km/Kmh and I wanted to convert it, so thought I may as well go for the combined unit with TSD for the extra £30 odd quid. I don't know if the car is already delimited or not, as I've not driven it fast enough to know. Would it cause problems if I hooked up the TSD if there was already one in operation? At worst I'll just hook up the DSC. After all I've not reached the speed limiter speed, yet! Regards Terry.

    Funny?

    Made me laugh. http://www.snotr.com/video/1825
  20. I can bring Fosters if you'd like, and maybe save a cat or two.
  21. I'm in need of a new one. Took mine off 2 days ago to repair, but it's pretty badly cracked underneath. I can pick up too.

    Idiotic things

Not seen that thread before. Now that's class. Had I have been of the same mind as Ed, I would not have gotten into that predicament as I would have needed the keys to open the boot in the first place.

    Idiotic things

I did think that afterwards, but at the time I thought it might just come out if I pulled at it. Once it had started to rip, I just went for it.
