  1. I'm hoping to finish my Logitech G25/PS3 sim chair this weekend, complete with Supra seat It's quite exciting. Once that's done I'll be pretty desperate for GT5 to come out!
  2. In short: UK cars are all TT SZ - imported NA RZ/RZ-S - imported TT All imported cars will get roughly the same insurance quote - none of my quotes were cheaper when I was comparing NAs to TTs. UK cars will be cheaper to insure. All will be roughly the same to run. As has been said, UK cars are rare (especially manuals) and therefore more expensive. Expect to pay roughly 3.5-4k for a good NA, 6k for an imported TT and 8k for a UK. Obviously there are variations based on condition, age and gearbox - manuals are more expensive to buy although they cost the same to insure. At 21 expect to pay around 1.3k-1.7k for insurance. Mods will add to the cost. I paid 1.2k on my imported TT for my first year, at 23 with 2 years ncb. My car had standard engine, but had full bodykit, aftermarket wheels, other exterior changes and interior changes, all declared. Hope that helps.
  3. OD is always off in MANU mode, so just pressing the MANU button means the box can't shift to OD. I don't know about the D starting in 2nd thing though, I'm sure I've seen mine go through all 4 gears on a run (switching to OD when easing off past the finish line). Maybe it chooses based on how hard you hit the pedal? I'll have an experiment today if I can To me, MANU mode 'feels' faster but I think my best time last year was in auto mode. My car was stock last year and will be BPU this year (fingers crossed) so I'll be interested to see if there's a difference. I think the stock torque converter lets you rev up to 2.3k and I think that's the max no matter how hard you hit the pedal, but I could be wrong. I only tried it once last year and messed it up so will probably go from idle again. I might have a practice before SP and give it a go, but I certainly won't over use it.
  4. Pistonheads ran a story on it too: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=20159 I'd like to believe it could happen but I'll wait and see. Be a shame to ruin the Supra badge if it was rubbish though. I kind of think they'd be better off picking a new brand.
  5. You drove past going the opposite way on Shurdington Road this morning about 8:35. I flashed you (with my lights) but you didn't seem to notice
  6. 16 years old (the car, not me), 30k when imported last year, 39k (ish) now
  7. Sweet! I'll be giving that a go tonight Cheers for the link!
  8. I got a set of the fibreglass replica OEM skirts and spats from him and they're pretty good. There's pics of them fitted, pre and post painting, in my garage. The fit won't be as good as Toyota plastic ones, but it's still very good.
  9. Hell yeah Impulse buying full UK brake setup and leather seats in a month is hurting my wallet though!
  10. Sounds good to me. If you PM me your payment details, I'll get the money sent over. I'm happy with Paypal or bank transfer
  11. I'm after some black sun visors to go with my black roof lining. Thanks
  12. Any chance of splitting one of the black roof lining sets? I'm after the visors - got the other stuff already.
  13. Not that I want to deprive Garfy of any business, as he's a thoroughly splendid chap and has been very helpful to me, but if you fancy doing it yourself, the following link gives you the circuit diagram and some other info: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/peter.betts/supra/TechTips/spoiler1.htm 2 relays and a bit of wiring and you're away.
  14. I imagine so. It's easy enough to get the manual control part working (and good fun to play with when it's working ), I doubt the automatic speed control would be that difficult.
  15. I've done a few personal payments and not had any charges, as far as I know. Two over £250 including one over £300.
  16. 1. SteveR 2. SimonB 3. farmer (with brackets) 4. L33 5. EdMorris 6. J80leo 7. jazz (everything) 8. Wile e coyote (the lot i think) 9. JohnHandy (with brackets) 10. Stevie Boy (with brackets) 11. AlanM (the lot) 12. danhicks22 (plug and play, or close to, would be nice )
  17. Dibbs are mine I'm afraid (at least I hope they are!).
  18. You have (multiple - apologies) PM
  19. I thought the ending was pretty poor and rushed. The preview of the next season showed a likely story line (or part story line) for the next season, which, if they went with it, I'd find a bit tedious. To be honest I think they've probably taken the show as far as it'll go. I hope the writers prove me wrong though - I really want it to be good.
