  1. Select the cell you want to copy by single clicking on it (don't double click as this will change the focus to be on editing the cell contents, not the sheet as a whole), then select the 'edit' menu and choose 'copy' (or hold down CTRL and press 'c' - that's the shortcut), then click and drag over the cells you want to paste it into - they will become highlighted - then select 'edit' and 'paste' (CTRL + V). Hope that makes sense. Excel likes to make you think it's clever by having a different display value (the calculated value) to the one it actually contains (the formula).
  2. Have a look at this. First column is the list of values without leading '0's; the second column contains the formulae for adding the '0' - note that the cell displays the calculated value until you click on it, then it displays the formula in the bar near the top; the third contains the formula for concatenating two cells; the fourth is the same but with a space between the values.
  3. Once you've got your cell references right for one formula, copy and paste the resulting cell value (the cell you put the formula into, now containing the results of the formula calculation) to the rest of the column and it will update the references for you so it's appropriate to the row.
  4. Excel makes the contents of a cell into a formula whenever it starts with '='. Copy and paste the formula given earlier into a cell to use it.
  5. Great movie. I got the reference Well that was a jolly 11 pages of light evening entertainment. In the trend of the early posts... I'm 23 and I went to a sh*t school where probably only 30% of my year group got 4 GCSE A-C grades. They were mainly chavvy, lazy f*cks with no desire to succeed. I can spell (usually) and am obsessed with using correct grammar. I'm also a massive pedant and detest poor spelling, incorrect grammar and text (that's text, not txt) speak in any kind of publication. I think it's unnecessary and a stabbing reminder of the unfortunate evolution of the Queen's English. However, I disagree with the posts in this thread that equate poor spelling and grammar with a lack of intelligence. I know plenty of very intelligent people that just couldn't/wouldn't learn or be taught proper English at school. It's usually a lack of application and a reflection of the growing restlessness of today's youth and their desire for more sophisticated entertainment and stimulation, not a lack of cognitive capacity. I, for one, certainly didn't learn spelling and grammar from my school teachers, they were crap. On the other hand, I also know people that can spell and use grammar very well but are otherwise completely useless. I also think it's unfair to attempt to publicly humiliate people for their poor spelling and grammar, however annoying you find it. As other's have said, the forum is informal and should be welcoming and accepting of all members with a particular shared interest (that would be the Supra). I hope no-one thinks this is a personal attack towards any individual or group, I just thought I'd share my view. Besides, it seems like all the cool people are doing it. And I'm bored. Really, really bored. And in a final attempt to sound less like a self-righteous plick (see what I did there? With the 'plick' thing? No?) ... er... bollocks, I can't
  6. My view is usually from below, looking upwards
  7. I was struggling with the same decision for a while but then I went out in a TT... I'm so getting a TT
  8. Interesting - I've done quite a few quotes with both for various cars and Bell have always been cheaper for me I don't even try to understand insurance any more anyway - Bell quoted me ~£700 on a 1993 diesel Pug 106 and £850 on a UK TT Supra. Makes perfect sense.
  9. I'm 23, driving 2 years with 1 years ncb and have been quoted about £1350 on unmodified imported TT for 10 month bonus accelerator with Bell (+20% on price for full year). Sky wouldn't insure me with no previous experience of powerful cars. Waiting to hear from A-Plan and will be contacting Adrian Flux soon. For young drivers, I think in general Bell are best from the Admiral/Bell/Elephant group (all same company).
  10. I would be interested - I'm after an unmodified black TT with OEM skirts and spats, but I'm not buying until New Year. Looks a stunning machine though, I'm sure someone like me without the insurance problems (my premium drops by ~£350 after 29/12) will snap it up!
  11. I'm just 23 with less than 2 years driving and I've had same problems. Try Bell Direct (http://www.bell.co.uk), they've been best for me. Cheapest I've had from any search engine like confused/go compare/money supermarket is about 3k. Bell were about 1700 on an import, 1200 on UK. I'm hoping to get my first Supra around new year... and then my second one soon after judging by what I've heard about them in the winter
  12. There's some detail about the differences in the newbie guides on the forum, but I believe it's something like: both engines have pretty much the same power although the UK has slightly stronger turbos, the J-Spec's are lighter (without some of the extras in UK cars) and the turbos are quicker to spin up so are more responsive. Overall I'm told that they average out at roughly the same performance. UK cars also have bigger brakes and 17" wheels as opposed to the 16"s on J-Specs. Although I think post facelift J-Specs also got the brake/wheel upgrade, or it was an option at least. Also, I think pretty much everything available on the GZ was available as an option on the RZ too so you might find an RZ with full leather (I could be wrong though) and cruise control etc.
  13. It is odd but I didn't question it too much - I just took it as a sure sign that I should buy a TT, which I fully intend to do in a few months Unfortunately they're not so good with mods and the price goes up by more than 25% with pretty basic wheels/bodykit/exhaust changes.
  14. The company that's given me the best quote I've had for any J-Spec (Bell Direct) offered me the same price for N/A and TT.
  15. Although you would, of course, be welcome in the forum even if this is the case... but perhaps not so welcome in other people's cars I'm looking at getting my first Supra too
  16. Who's that with? As soon as I put any mods on a quote on a J-spec the price flies over 2k.
  17. I earn enough to cover the running of it (I think!) and the only reason I have to save for it is because I've been paying off my travelling, previous car and first rented flat debt (went pretty much straight from graduate to spending shed laods on a round the world trip, buying my first car and moving to just outside London in the space of 6 months) for the last 7 months so I don't yet have the cash. On a month by month basis, I'll be fine, just need the capital to get the car, which I want to do as soon as possible. Even if I'm not that careful I could probably afford it by Christmas/January but if I can make a few sacrifices to get it sooner, I will.
  18. I'm 23 with 1 year's ncb - most companies were quoting me over 3k for a J-Spec. I found Admiral were a lot lower, but Bell Direct (http://www.bell.co.uk) were even lower - same group as Admiral/Elephant. Might be worth giving them a go. Good luck with the search - I'm starting my search properly in a month or so, once I've actually got some of the money to pay for the car
  19. Has to be a TT for me. If I had an N/A I'd always wish I had a TT... well, until I got one later, but I've never been a patient person. I think I'd prefer an auto and the price difference certainly appeals. I'm budgeting everything I do now to make sure I can get one as soon as possible. And I'm looking to sell all my worldly possesions. Wonder how much I'd get for a kidney... or a toe... anyone need any toes? No? Damn.
  20. I'd risk it if I didn't have tax for my Supra... and I had a Supra... I backed out of a curry tonight to help the fund and I'm debating spending the weekend on the streets of London holding a bucket and a sign - "I'm not hungry or unclean but I really really want a very fast car. Please help".
  21. Awesome, a few hours into my membership and I've started an argument - I'd say that's good work! Tomorrow sounds good. Off out now but we can sort out details later or during the day tomorrow. Cheers guys - mucho appreciated. Ooh, I'm getting all of-a-fluster with excitement.
  22. I don't like those buttons... the ones in the bottom right are ok though Sounds good. Evenings I can definitely do, should be just over an hour down the road. I'm free tomorrow and Thursday if that's not too short notice? Oo-er! I hope you're talking about the car
  23. "If you fancy a trip down to weston i can take you out in mine, 6 speed TT." - I'm assuming you mean the Super-Mare, although there are many Weston's around (according to Google Maps - ah, Google Maps, how I rely on thee). If I get a free weekend, that could be doable. "If you fancy buying mine I'm in Essex" - If I could insure it for a lot less than 4k, I'd probably consider it... it's perdy. There are some nice examples of standard SZs on Autotrader, just gotta get out in one to confirm the decision I've almost made.
