Don't know who bought it. Don't think they went to see it, just bought it 'buy it now' on Ebay. 2 days before I was going to see it with a view to buy. I was gutted. Think it was early Feb they bought it. Don't think the new owner made themselves known on the forum after the purchase so don't think they were a member. Was such a clean car. Engine and everything looked practically new in the pics Conrad took.

Same first 4 digits on the number plate iirc. Could be wrong. If it was his, he only sold it a couple of months ago. Always sad to see a beaten Supra anyway.

I always imagined them small from pictures I'd seen, like Porsche Cayman kind of size. I like it a little less with this new knowledge.

Is that from experience, or just based on the approved repairer thing? Anyone else have any experience with these guys? Just wondering 'cause I just did a quote for the Supra I'm importing and it came out about £350 cheaper than my previous cheapest quote from Bell. With that much of a saving I can afford more mods

Bell have been lowest for me. I'm 23, 1 years ncb, 2 years driving experience. They're offering about £1250 fully comp for 12 months on standard 93 import TT with £600 excess. They also do a bonus accelerator 10 month scheme, which saves about a 6th of the price (obviously). Newer cars tend to be more and obviously mods increase it (mine will be about £1450 with bodykit, interior changes, non-standard wheels, exhaust changes and non-standard filters). Bell, Admiral and Elephant are all part of the Admiral group but I found Bell the cheapest for young drivers. A-plan and Adrian Flux wouldn't insure me as I'm under 25 with very little experience (especially with powerful cars) and Sky couldn't match Bell. As with you, all other companies (Endsleigh etc.) would either not quote or offered >£3k. My Supra is in Japan waiting to be shipped back for me in case you were wondering Should be here by mid-May.

Is it possible to register a car before it's manufactured? Presumably the year of manufacture would always be the earliest...

I read it as needing feeding every four hours, for twenty minutes - 23:20. Big Ben plays the Westminster chimes every hour, starting just before the hour changes; they don't start an hour after the previous lot finished. The interval is regular, regardless of the duration. At least, that's my argument for when I'm wrong

I read earlier today while I was searching for it that the early TTs have a manly 385g/km... slightly over the band G start level of ~220

This is a bit confusing. I'm currently importing a car (well, Jurgen's doing it for me) so I'm now expecting to be paying £400 because it'll be registered this year, but my previous understanding was that a car of that age (i.e. '93) was made before the regulations were introduced and therefore should be taxed in the old way - based on engine size, putting it at £185 for the year. It seems that people on here have had to do it both ways, which is pretty messed up. It's the transparency and consistency that impresses me most about our regulations...
