I'm not sure there is a way of improving your netbook's reception from the netbook end, aside from getting a 'better' receiver; although I've found my NC10's reception to be really strong anyway. You could try and find a good USB receiver? You could get a signal booster to sit part way between the transmitter and your netbook, intercepting the signal from a better position and rebroadcasting it, although this can be a pita to get working properly. Alternatively, you could ask your hotel nicely to... - move their transmitter closer to you - fit a bigger aerial - fit a parabolic reflector
