  1. On the subject of insurance, how much have you shopped around? When I first started looking I was getting quotes for £4k+, which almost put me off completely, but with enough digging and waiting a bit, I was getting quotes from more friendly companies for around £1k. In the end I paid about £1250 for a 10 month bonus accelerator scheme for my first year. I'm about to renew to a better policy. I was 22 when I first started looking, and 23 when I took out the policy with 2 years driving and ncb. If you are happy to give a large proportion of your money to the car, you won't regret it. They're awesome. I learned to drive in a 1.25 Fiesta, then drove a 1.6 8v Astra for a year and then got a stock Supra TT with a body kit. Best thing I ever did. As long as you're careful and you don't drive like a dick, you'll be fine.
  2. Looks good. I'd like to do something similar but I want a double din touch screen for a car pc so I'm a bit torn. What are those gauges like? I've been contemplating buying them myself. I like the look of them but they're quite cheap compared to the usual brands so I wasn't sure on quality/accuracy etc. Impressive work though
  3. That's all kinds of wrong.

  5. My first post on the forum when I joined was asking the same question. I had a few offers and got taken out in two TTs a couple of days later - one UK auto, one J-spec manual. I was sure I wanted one before that night and was in a state of blind obsession to get one after it You're a little out the way for me, but good luck!
  6. I was in contact with him recently about maybe doing another group buy on the ali trays. Didn't hear back on an updated price, but if you wanted to follow that up, there seemed to be a fair amount of interest in it. I'd potentially be interested as I still need one.
  7. Good timing! Just sent pm without reading your post Apologies - I was out all last night. Went to see Jimmy Carr in Cheltenham. He was ace
  8. I'll take it, pending pic inspection
  9. Any pics? What's the condition like?
  10. I know she's lovely, I was only joking. You shouldn't mention the 'f' word - it's mean I played yesterday and somehow destroyed my back. Now I'm in great football-enduced mental and physical pain. Stupid game.
  11. It was indeed a nice afternoon out, apart from the extra 20 miles I had to do on the M4 because I day-dreamed my way past my exit Many thanks to Tigger for arranging the event and inviting me It was good to meet you all.
  12. I had to stop having milk about 2 years ago because I was getting really bad stomach cramps every day and my 'regularity' was all over the place. Took me ages to narrow down what it was because it takes a few days for me to recover properly. I have soya milk now with cereal. The Alpro stuff is actually quite nice, although I do miss normal milk - I used to drink loads of it. I would always follow a good exercise session with a big glass of milk - very refreshing! I find I'm generally still ok with cheese as long as I don't have too much but cream doesn't agree with me and yoghurts aren't great. I don't eat much chocolate although the other night I had a pizza and a big bar of Dairy Milk and was pretty bad for the next couple of days. Apparently 1 in 4 people (or something like that) develop lactose intolerance in their twenties. Thankfully I already stopped having milk in tea about 5 years ago so I don't miss that. I drink a lot of tea
  13. Not my fault, I don't have a hose to clean it myself - honest guv!
  14. My Supra is currently being cleaned by a nice Polish chap in Tesco car park, all ready for tomorrow Off to pick it up after work in a few minutes. Lovely stuff.
  15. Come from a Boeing? You could land a Boeing on it
  16. Mine is pretty smooth and I wouldn't describe it as a 'kick' but it's definitely a noticeable increase in pull. If you concentrate hard on yours when you drive it and you don't feel any change in acceleration rate at all then I'd say it might not be working properly. Boost gauge is probably your best bet to find out for sure though.
  17. I bought one last week and built a frame thing to mount it to. Need to get me a car seat to make a full sim-seat setup but sitting on cushions on the floor, back against the sofa, is pretty immense

  19. Looks lovely from the front but not sure about the rear shot. Reminds me too much of a Fiat Multipla.
  20. I won't be going, but I will be moaning about the extra traffic making my journeys to and from work and around town more of a hassle.
  21. Of course. I'm not the sort of horrible person that would call someone names behind their back that I wouldn't call them to their face. The occasional verbal beat-down works wonders keeping her in check
