  1. Mate will the motor be finished in time for JF ?
  2. Bloody feels like it Jon . I insure with Saga and collect my bus pass Tuesday next . I might have to sell my Supe if getting in / out proves any more problematic . Never mind though at least I got to 44 .
  3. Its a stunner , a really lovely looking Supra . Respect mate !
  4. Going Direct 1) Dr Jekyll 2) Calum 3) lewysdanny 4) Downimpact 5) Chenco 6)
  5. I,ll be going direct . If Downimpact comes he,ll be going direct ( far as last time we spoke ) and Chenko is going direct , again the last time we all met up.
  6. As promised a few pics of the above , taken today . The lips have polished up well ( I think ) but for some reason the rears don't seem to shine quite as well as the front lips , advice anyone ? Now the LEDs were pretty easy to fit once I had the correct resistors in place , and even though last night I took a look , the off side were not working properly . So first thing this morning , took the front off side headlight out to reveal I,d crushed two wires when fitting the headlight. Now all sorted , and the cars starting to look ok .
  7. This thread is very quiet . Is this still gonna happen ????
  8. Leaving in the next 20 mins.
  9. Hey Dean, I,ve been all day buffing the rear off side ( 2000 / 3000/ Autosol ) . It,s to late to take pics as its now dark . Will do this tomorrow , and post all the results when I,m done . Just a heads up, I used the Dremel as I said before , and tbh I think I got a better result getting into the awkward bits by using elbow grease. I,m gonna make a extension piece to fit a Dremel that will cover the width of my rim lip. By doing this it should be able to use the Dremel to buff the whole lip width with one pass , as opposed to several passes due to the small size of the Dremel buffing pads. You going to Japfest in May ?
  10. Anything the size and power output of a Dremel just aint big enough. I tried it . I mean, to get the job done you need to use a pad that covers more area . So more area means bigger power. Unless you,re prepared to take a age on each lip. But I,ll be using the Dremel to buff the awkward part between the spokes and lip .
  11. I spent all day yesterday doing just one rim lip. My back is in bits ( old age ) but it looks like I,m winning the battle. Last week I invested in a mini buffer along with a variety of sanding pads . THIS BUFFER IS WORTH EVERY PENNY I PAID FOR IT. I,ve taken pics of before / after , and once I,ve finished the four rims I,ll post the results . Of what I,ve done so far ( buffing ) I,m very pleased. As soon as I get a dry day forecasted I,ll finish the first rim lip ( needs a good buffing with Autosol etc etc ) to get it to a decent sheen . I,m just about to have a look for ( on line ) a quality polishing pad, in order to bring the first lip up to perfection . I was quoted last week £280 for the lips to be polished , but when I asked the guy the results I could expect, he could only say it depends on the quality of the alloy underneath the lacquer. Not happy with this I,m doing the job myself , with a little investment in some tools and pads , which I will use again to polish up engine parts . I,ve got a feeling this mini buffer I bought is gonna have a lot of use in the coming months .
  12. Ok Jon , that works for me. I,ll see you Monday .
  13. Just to say I,ve always taken the lacquer off my wheels. In fact, hopefully this weekend I,m doing it again. The lips are not in a good shape , so I,ll be sanding off the lacquer , then buffing all the way to perfection. I,ve got everything ready for the transformation , 3000, 2000,1500,1200,800,400 grit . Got various cutting creams , polishes , and finishing wax. Think this is gonna be a mega job !!!!! If going by how long it took me last time , I,m giving it 2 days per rim ( they are very bad ) . I,ll take some pics if I remember .
  14. Pull your finger out mate ! Can,t wait to get behind the wheel when its done. I know you ass twitches a tad with all the horses under the hood . I,ll be by the phone awaiting your call to drive you to JF in May . LOL
  15. Jon still on for Thurs 20th ?

    japfest 2014

That's about the strength of it . Listy what we have said is no reflection on you personally , its a fun day, and a once a year deal. So we always try to have a laugh on this one time per year get together . Downimpact reflects the thoughts of other lads who came with the club last year , but don,t want the aggro of confrontation with club personel on here.

Jon at what point does someone give the club a bad name . As far as I know , there,s not many members on here with MKIV Supra club livery over their cars , so all it comes down to is doing our own thing. After all said and done its supposed to be fun . In the 6 yrs I,ve been going to JF we,ve always had fun . To go at a reasonable speed and safely is fine in my book , especially as its 0630 on a Sat morning . And for the reason you have given is why I,ll do my own thing . I left the regimental ways of Army life a long time ago .

    japfest 2014

Hey j , you don,t spend all that time , money , devotion , in doing the mods , then drive at mway speeds . But I,m available to drive your rocket to JF if you,re suffering from anal vomit at speed . lol

The thing is Nev , if we all adhere to being governed by the speed policed by the convoy , where,s the fun in following behind the rear of another supra at 60 - 70 . We,ve always had a good laugh going and leaving JF, and when you talk to guys that have done their own thing , most remember the drive there, or from JF . Being policed by the convoy speed, and not having fun seems a bit of a damp squib. You don,t have to worry about " the boys in blue " as nobody goes fast enough to break the speed limit . But I do understand the reason for younger members to go in convoy.
