  1. Right, I had a half day off work today so spent a few hours in the garage, it took me an age to sand out the angle grinder marks in the stainless, finally made a start on the polishing today after hours of wet & dry sanding, it's going to take forever to achieve a mirror finish, to be honest I think "just shiney" will do. I've no idea how these were being sold for just £60, I've spent about 3.5-4 hours on just one so far and am still nowhere near finished, I wish i'd just bought one years ago when colsoop was selling them Anyway this is how its looking so far, if anyone wants to share some tips on polishing please feel free because i'm clueless with my technique
  2. Cheers for that, I'm going to polish up some stainless soon and didn't really know where to start, that is useful information to help me make a start
  3. Impressive work Rog, what polishing compounds have you been using?
  4. Use Toyota type IV fluid. It's not overly expensive

    Hello there

Welcome mate, get some photo's of the car posted up when you get a chance
  6. Right, As I had no joy with dimensions I decided to take a few measurements myself and made two of these from stainless steel which was the easy bit. I probably won't be making them again though (wasn't aware that stainless cost so much ), i've noticed from past sale threads on here they sell for as little as £60 which barely covers the materials once the polishing gear is purchased on top of the steel. Next stage is polishing them up, anyone have any tips on this? I'll be buffing them on a bench grinder and haven't tried this before. How long should I expect it to take? Cheers
  7. Whilst we're on the subject, i'll take those BK993's off your hands if you want Paul
  8. Did you take the 02 sensor out and clean it up listy? If not, remove it, clean it up and stick it into a lemon over night, try it again once its been cleaned if it works temporarily then starts misfiring a day or two later my guess would be it needs replacing with a new one.

  17. Nobody willing to take a few measurements for me ?
  18. Hi all, I've been thinking of cleaning up the engine bay a bit over the summer with a few polished stainless bits and it got me thinking. Does anyone have any measurements or dimensions to make a fan shroud, they seem to be a rare part and don't crop up too often on here. I'm sure I could make one of these if anyone can help me out with photo's/drawings etc? Any information anyone has on these would be appreciated Same as or similar to the one in the attached photo (borrowed from Monsween's engine bay pic, hope you don't mind ) Cheers Tom
  19. Rog is right Mark, you have some great skills and it would be a shame not to make some of your custom made products available to other club members, you could be a very useful asset to alot of guys on this forum, get an application in mate
