Ha ha! Never finished but it’s good to get your hands dirty every now and then, I’ve enjoyed messing about with mine over the last few months…only issue is the cost of parts these days are mental

Amazing work this, really enjoy looking at these threads and seeing people restore these great cars back to their former glory well done!

Amazing build Brad, great to see the car getting the work it deserves

My car has been in dry storage for almost a decade, I’m just documenting this restoration work on the site for the sake of the cars service history. I removed the rear subframe and shotblasted and painted all the components with POR15 paint and a Matt black top coat. I have used Superpro bushes all round, the ball joints were all in fantastic condition and did not require replacing so I decided to refurbish all the original suspension arm components and fit poly bushes. For the subframe I used genuine OEM bushes. I was surprised at how solid the subframe was after removal, I replaced all the camber bolts with genuine parts from Paul at TCB, Paul also supplied the full Superpro bush kit, I have replaced the coilovers with tein flex and fit brand new 18 inch wheels “rota gtr-d” from Paul at Whifbitz. Brake callipers have been fully refurbished and re painted in black, the calliper rebuild parts were supplied by Chris Wilson. I also replaced all the handbrake components courtesy of inchcape Toyota. Whilst the subframe was removed I decided to replace all the brake lines and fuel hard lines that run underneath the car, I replaced the long brake lines, and fuel lines with kunifer hard lines re-using the original OEM covers. I replaced the alternator with a refurbished unit form Lee at SRD and I’ve replaced every vacuum hose from blue to black silicone pipes. In total I have spent around £10,000 restoring the car, I don’t intend to sell it but I thought it is interesting to document this work for future reference.

Lee at SRD sells refurbished genuine units, I bought one recently and it’s spot on.

How much do you want for the skirts? Are there any cracks or splits in the passenger side one? I’ve had a fibreglass one fitted for years to the passenger side that I am going to replace soon so it’s back to how it should be. I have a spare set of skirts already but they have cracks in that need repaired, if the price is right I could be interested. -
I have a spare one too, painted really badly in blue so would need sanded and repainted but the price would reflect that. Photos available if interested, PM me because I don’t regularly check in on this site

Since I’ve had little interest in these I guess they are overpriced so I will knock them down to £430 posted to uk mainland. The tread on the tyres is almost like new.

These coilovers were removed from my supra this summer whilst I was restoring it after being off the road for 9 years, they look like new but they aren’t, they have done about 30,000 miles over many years at a guess looking at the service history of my car (were on the car when I bought it in 2007). if I remember correctly, one of the fronts had a slight leak years ago but I can’t see the evidence of that now, I painted them in black underseal years back which seems to of preserved them pretty well. When I took them off the car I assumed they would be knackered but the car passed its MOT with them (and many previous MOT’s without issue) so I decided I would have a go at cleaning them up and selling them. I shotblasted the body’s and cleaned up the adjuster threads, and shotblasted the tops and coil springs and repainted them. They have come out well as the photos show. So if anyone wants a cheap set of coilovers I am looking for £225 posted to uk mainland..they will come in an original Tein box and packaging that my new ones arrived in.

The rears are 265/35/R18 The fronts are 235/40/R18 Not sure on the width of the rims but you could easily put wider tyres on than what’s already fitted. Stud pattern is 5 x 114.3 so will fit other makes and models.

For Sale Good Condition 5 spoke alloys, 18inch with Avon tyres with loads of tread, no kerbing rash on any of these rims as can be seen in the photos. I had these on my supra for many years with no issues. I can’t remember what brand they are, I pulled the centre caps out and replaced them with the Toyota emblem as the photos show. These wheels clear uk brakes with spacer shims and spigot rings which are included in the sale. Looking for £430 posted to uk mainland addresses. Will make a great set of winter wheels for someone. PM if interested. Thanks Tom

Decided to put new teins back on for now because I can spend the £1000 I will save from not going with stock on other bits the car needs, will see if any bilsteins crop up at a later date (probably in a year or so when the teins start leaking )
-
By the way, might be useful for people to know that unfortunately Steve Manley no longer works for Toyota. Steve recommended I contact Michael Hayes at Fish Bros Toyota Swindon. Michael has been really helpful trying to source parts for the car so would definitely recommend him if you are looking for genuine parts.

Yeah, I will have to think seriously about going down the OEM route as opposed to the coilover route, the coilovers are a third of the price of stock, and there is a lot more spending to be done yet after the car has been garaged for the last 9 years and finally MOT’d and taxes again last month. The stock wheels need refurbed and the bonnet could do with a respray, plus there is a misfire under full boost (after being serviced) so I am thinking one of the coil packs might need replaced. I’ve been thinking about it over the weekend and I am tempted just to put a new set of teins back on it for now and see if the bilsteins are more readily available in a couple of years time. cheers for the input guys
-
Cheers for looking, the delivery dates are estimated for 6 weeks time so pretty certain they don’t stock them either unfortunately.
-
The Bilsteins aren’t available from Toyota unfortunately.
-
Yeah, was hoping to go for Chris’s set up but after speaking with him it’s not an option at the moment because the B6’s aren’t available.
-
I can actually get the stock springs from Toyota for £90 each but Chris Wilson recommended trying to source second hand and getting them refurbished and powder coated as the stock springs are pretty much bomb proof. I am looking to replace my decades old tein street coilovers, I think OEM is my preferred option after seeking advice from Chris, the bilstein sports are extremely difficult to come by, so OEM is the next best option. With the above in mind, if anyone happens to have any excellent condition bilsteins they are interested in selling, please let me know? Cheers guys. Tom

Hi all, looking for a set of front and rear springs for standard twin turbo shock absorbers. Genuine Toyota OEM parts only. does anyone have a set of 4 and how much would you want for them? thanks Tom

Was thinking they would be worth selling if they were around the £1k mark. Haven’t been following the supra scene for a few years so thought the wheels might have increased in value like the cars have.
