  1. Sorry to read this, you must be gutted What sort of mileage was on the engine that failed?
  2. Another thing to check is the rear brake shoe clips (part 47447f on the attached drawing if it's worked?), when I replaced my rear discs and pads I noticed that little clip had rotated slightly catching the back of the wheel studs causing a faint grinding noise, easily sorted and you will notice it when you spin the hub.
  3. Congratulations both D'oh just read the full thread
  4. As above, I hit fuel cut on a spirited drive a couple of times today , I pulled the fault codes when I got back, it gave code 34 (Turbo pressure malfunction). I also noticed the turbos didn't feel as strong as normal. So I thought i'd try swapping the existing wastegate VSV for my spare one, only thing is I didn't screw it in to the metal frame when I test drove it the second time. It did feel like it was boost stronger but it still hit fuel cut at about 5000rpm, should I of scewed/bolted it into the metal frame (is that the earth?). I've tested both VSVs I have, using the technique listed on the max boost website and they appear to be working okay. Next thing to look at is presumabley my FCD and wiring to it, can they suddenly start playing up? The car has been garaged and serviced over winter. If anyone has any suggestions it'll be much appreciated. PS It's not coil packs, clips, fuel filter or plugs and i've a new OEM O2 sensor coming tuesday. Oh and it idles rough when first started up (this improves after a run out for 15 mins or so). Car is BPU at 1.2 bar on high boost setting on greddy profec II EBC. Cheers Tom
  5. I don't want it, well I do but can't afford it just now, I thought it might be worth a look for someone
  6. Seems too good to be true, whats the catch here?? http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=v160%20gearbox&source=web&cd=15&ved=0CGEQFjAEOAo&url=http%3A%2F%2Faberdeen.craigslist.co.uk%2Fpts%2F2892930700.html&ei=r5h3T4rQDZHu8QPju-CaDQ&usg=AFQjCNEZXr6WryIga3_dltkmBD6CwQBUdA
  7. Welcome mate, can't you take a slice of your wedding budget?, put it to one side. Just cancel the wedding cars and canopes to pay for the supra (a few of the little extra's that no-one really notices), your fiance should be fine with it Where about in the US are you?
  8. I agree, i've just read through this for the first time since yesterday, pages and pages of total b*llocks, if it was tidied up this would be a great thread but unfortunately it's quite hard to follow.
  9. Car and headlights look brilliant, well impressed with those
  10. You could also do the brake fluid, auxiliary belt and coilpack connector clips?
  11. Looks like a good project, do you have a timescale for the build?
  12. That looks bad sorry to read this. At least you can get them refurbed now.
  13. I'd love one, they seem to be the best on the market at the moment. It'll be a while before I can justify spending that amount on my supra in one hit though, and probably not worth it being as i'm only BPU

    Unpaid Invoice

Personally, I would wait until you've actually got the owed cash in your hand first, then proceed to give her a good old fashioned lecture on manners, favours and friendship, expressing your disappointment with the whole situation and the stress it has caused you, and make it clear you do not appreciate being put in awkward situations that jeopadise your friendship with members of the opposite sex (the lady that originally asked you to help her out). Don't forget to make it clear that your job and indeed life is difficult enough without having to deal with untrustworthy madams who prey on peoples good nature. Next time she wants a favour you can tell her to "jolly well ram it where the sun doesn't shine". Forget all that revenge and locking her car up b*llocks. Take the moral high ground, after all, we are British.
  15. Well!! this hasn't got off to the best start Good luck with the build Peter, make sure you post plenty of progress photo's because i like them and i'm a nosey git.
