  1. Best place near to you would be Hells Mouth, near Abersoch in North Wales. It is reasonably consistent and Abersoch is a nice place to stay. West Coast Surf shop (www.westcoastsurf.co.uk) do lessons and equipment hire. North Devon/Cornwall is more reliable, but the waves at Hells Mouth are perfect for beginners and you don't get the crowds there. Good luck, it is a great sport if you stick with it.
  2. I could go into a lot of details, but it is best summed up by the fact the police had a football match every Sunday with the local drug dealers. Everything from the Taxis to the best-placed restaurants are owned by a local 'mafia' who can make life very hard for incomers. This was in Fuerteventura.
  3. If corruption was a problem in Marbella, I don't think you will like doing business in the Canaries. It is a real problem out there, worse if anything as they are seperate from the mainland.
  4. You soon get used to it. Overtaking is not a problem if you just hang back a bit, or have a passenger that you can trust. The only issues I find are on some of the narrower roads around here, Corvettes are wide cars to be sat on the wrong side of - I tend to hug the kerb more to compensate. The M6 toll is a pain unless you have a Tag, but generally LHD is fine.
  5. Nice, i've only stayed there once. It was around £80 for a decent room through Lastminute, which isn't bad for London.
  6. The Riverside Park Plaza is on Top Secret, you can spot it by the Japanese Restaurant.
  7. The Top Secret Hotels on Lastminute.com can be good value. The best two Top Secret i've stayed at are the Athenaeum (by Green Park) and The Mayfair. Both are 5 star. It is pretty easy to work out which hotels they are. Also, Hoteldoorman.com has some good offers. You can search by Tube Station
  8. I stayed in Menton last time I went, Monte Carlo is impressive but i didn't regret not staying there.
  9. Thank you It was booked through 'Readers Offers' The surname is Gardner, booking Reference is 6876899. 108006 is another ref. we have, I think that is for Readers Offers.
  10. Thanks, your effort is much appreciated. I believe it was booked through a newspaper offer? I would love to go, you are rubbing it in now:p
  11. It was booked through an agent. The latest we can either cancel or transfer names is tomorrow lunchtime. If we cancel tomorrow we get £750 back. I cannot change names until we have receipt of payment, so this evening would be the latest really - unless someone in the midlands gives my brother cash tomorrow morning! It is not covered under insurance or with the tour operator as my mother did not disclose her illness at the time of booking
  12. Thanks, it does a look a good cruise. The cruise company have said they will give 25% (£750) back upon cancellation. If anyone offers more than that by tonight, it is theirs. It is just a shame I can't go, I could do with a break! My parents are ok, thanks for asking. Mum is, according to the NHS, bi-polar. She booked the cruise during an 'up' period and is now very much in a down state of mind.

  15. Probably Lloyds TSB, like you say. The letters are next to each other on a QWERTY keyboard, so it could be that?
