I too run a UK with full decat and a suoer dragger. Like Syed says you'll be fine witout a restrictor ring but if you're wanting to up the boost a bit a FCD (Pete Betts are recognised as being spot on) will be needed to avoid fuel cut. A bleed valve is a simple and reliable way (not to mention was Yorkshire man friendly cheep !) to increase the boost which you shoul be safe in doing so up to around 1.2 -1.3 bar. Prepare to fall in love with your car again big time .

Well after putting some new wheels on the car and giving it a good clean I've decided that there's just one thing missing, I'd like to have the spoiler lip stay down at all times and I'm not q sure which fuse to pull / wire to disconect etc etc. I found 1 fuse which left it dowm when the engine was started but it also left my ! triangle, battery, oil, and fog light warning light's on too which is all a bit too much for me just to ignore . I've done a quick search but don't be able to fine the definitive answer. Idealy I'd like to be able to use the spoiler down button to raise / lower it at my own free will but will settle for permanatly down if this is not possible, thanks in advance for any help, pointers, advice indeed anything !. Oh and it's a UK car if that makes any difference. Cheers.

Yeah that's the sizes on them, 245/40 and 275/35. I still would've thought the rears would be heavier due to the extra width though !. Peter; you're welcome and it means I've actually got to pull my finger out and get on with it now which is what I needed !!. Mcanny; if you want to pm me your number again I may have some time free for a brief meeting (oo-er !) at some point this weekend.

Peter, as you know I've got the same C/W suspension set up as you and I also happen to have stock 17s on at the moment. I do however have a set of GS300 18s cluttering up my hallway (ho hum lifes so hard. ) which I intend to pop on the car this weekend. When I've done so I'll take the car down my local test track for a back to back comparison (Mcanny can probably vouch for the thoroughness of the test that they're about to be put through) and if you want I'll let you know how they feel. Bear in mind though that the wheels I'm using are the Correct offset (surely this is vital) and are also quite light too (strangly enough the fronts are heavier than the rears even with tyres on ).

Ah the old Kawasaki carb icing prob eh. I remember the horror stories / articles that M.C.N was publishing about it a good few years ago, didn't they have to do a recall across quite a few diff models (Ouch ££££s) in the end ?.

Just a few topics down from yours you'll find this http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19484 .

STOP RUBBING IT IN !!

My point was to show that I don't know what I'm on about at 1:15 in the morning after a gallon of wife beater which my post clearly demonstrates, ok !.

Hmm, I remember a few years ago when these started off on bikes. At first it was on off roaders and the supposed benifit was less gyroscopic effects due to lighter weight (a big thing on a crosser with 21 inch wheels), cooler running temps and less mud clogging due to the increased circumference. They've been available for aftermarket fitment now for a while for most popular road / sports bikes and Kawasaki (regarded as pretty good engineers) have been the 1st (as far as I know) manufacturer to fit them as standard at production on their flagship model the ZX10R which is a serious piece of kit. See pic.
-
You need to fit and run them for a good few miles before you go out on the track to bed them in to get the best out of them.
-
All it takes now is some 18yr old apprentice to decide to try and start it to see what it sounds like  !!, I'd take the keys off them till they need them back.

You're welcome Chris, once again a case of credit given where due. Not quite sure as to mine having the "Paul Radbone car problem" (not even sure what that is THB), if I remember rightly it was a case of loose (subframe I think) bolts and yeah the handling was dire, anything above 60 and it felt like you were on ice !. On the subject of mods I could't agree more, decent suspension, tyres and braking may not be the first things on many peoples shopping lists in the quest to go faster but with them you'll gain in all aspects of your drive in particular the grin factor. Anyone who's not so sure about this should go down to a trackday and watch owners of well ballanced cars / bikes run rings round HP monsters that are tying themselfs in knots as their owners struggle to not run off track / kill themselfs / both !!.

Well it is associated with the reserection of mighty things so maybe it's appropriate
-
Agreed Pete. How's the car coming on ?.
-
Thor it is then, to be honest taking it from the hubs seems like the best way by far to me.

Just a quick post for those that've been following this thread to say I met up with Mcanny last night so he could check out a UK with hybrids. He's posted what he thought of them (and the car in general) here; http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17273 which should prove interesting reading for the many people that responded to his original post on here (oh that and it makes me feel all warm and nice about my car and myself ).
-
No pics of it I'm afraid, but it's probably fair to describe it as "cosmetically in need" as it 's got a small dent or two a fair few light scratches / stone chips and wheels that are well in need of a refurb / upgrade. As for the dynoing (if that's the right word) I'm going to wait till I get a new intercooler fitted as mines non too healthy and I don't fancy doing a fair few static runs with it in it's current state, but when that's sorted I think it'll be a trip to Thor which seems the best option unless anyone else can advise otherwise.

Morning Mike, Nice to have finally met up with a fellow supra owner and it was a pleasure to have been able to help you out with the shocks. Thanks also for the kind words regarding my car in particular the Turbo Technics Hybrids and the Chris Wilson suspension both of which I've spoken of highly here on several occasions, it is however good to hear some one else echo my opinion. Plenty gets said on here about hybrids (quite alot of it non too good) and without wanting to stick my neck out too much all I can say is that they can't have very good ones as without a doubt mine have made a great difference to the car giving it far better mid and top end power whilst retaining the nice responsive bottom end (oo er misses ), I can't wait to get a new intercooler fitted and start running more than 1.1 bar. As for the Chris Wilson suspension I've posted a review on this before for anyone who's interested but briefly in my opinion if there was one singe mod I could have (well one more after a de-cat) then this would be it, trust me on this one guys you will get from A - B quicker with this gear fitted and set up correctly. Glad you enjoyed the ride out and good luck with your turbos. John.
-
Yeah feel free to give me a call or pm and we can meet up, you'd have the dubious honour of being the 1st other Supra owner I've ever met apart from one that followed me 5 miles home and then asked me loads of quetions about my UK spec to which I must have seemed a little disinterested to say the least (at the time it was just a car that I'd bought 'cos I could and was only really into bikes, big appologies if you're out there reading this I now understand what the big deal was). You can have a go in the car to see if you like the hybrids (personally I love em) and I've got my old shocks in the garage from when I had Chris Wilsons set up fitted. I look forward to hearing from / seeing you soon. p.s did Turbo Technics come back to you ?.
-
Mcanny, you have pm re turbos, may be able to help short term re suspension too .
-
Yeah me !, it's what I see every timre i get in mine .
-
Well ??.................... (hope it is now anyway).

There was quite a discussion on these a little while ago with a few mixed opinions, I'm not sure how to do a link to it but if you use the search facility (using Hi-spec brakes) it will find it for you.
