  1. Go for a full de-cat (big improvement on it's own ) bigger injectors with a Walbro / U.K pump a fuel cut cutter and a good old fashioned bleed valve. You'll almost certainly also need a restrictor ring to stop overboosting but assuming (as earlier mentioned) that your stock intercooler is in ok condition (U.K cars intercoolers tend to be in much worse nick than Jap ones due to the salting of our roads ) then it should be just fine. Oh and whilst your at it you may want to check out the many threads on induction kits on here, the general view tends to be that they don't filter as well as the stock pannel filter and that they pull in more warm air (a BIG no no) too. Out of interest who would you be thinking of using to do your hybrids ?, there've been a few failures (q well documented on here somewhere) of them lately so I'd pick carefully if I were you. I used Turbo Technics (after one of the so called tuners on here never returned any of my calls ) and they were good to deal with and I'm more than happy with mine. If you do a search of McCannys posts you'll find out what he thought of them too having driven the car, good luck mate.
  2. Mmmm it certainly looks the part, how's reception with it compared to the stock one ?.
  3. Very clean looking car (minus the wheel weight) . If you think it's fun now then wait till you de-cat and stick an exhaust on it, cheap as chips ( £ / BHP gain) and they sound great on full song. Enjoy .
  4. Not sure about the rear spoiler thing but it might be worth checking to see if your new one has got the engine undertray on as since I took mine off for an oil change (not had time to refit it yet) it's as you say your is, the front end feels really light and not planted at speed (120+) as it was before.
  5. Fair comment and I hope they manage to get things sorted, however it has been quite an interesting thread (incidently I've been swayed neither way) and I would like to know the outcome of it.
  6. Funny (or not as the case is really) that you should mention that as it was only 2 to 3 weeks after I'd bought my GS300 alloys that I noticed what had happened to my bottom pulley.
  7. I do !!, I NEED this thing . Joking aside (re the bidding war not whether I want one or not) I intend to give Matt Harwood a call next week for some Head Unit advice / possible purchase so if nothing gets sorted in the mean time I'll ask him about the spoiler swithcy thingy then.
  8. Wonder if anyone knows how to fix this.....Yesterday one of my battery leads came loose resulting in me not being able to start the car for over an hour until the AA turned up and found what it was. I did check that it hadn't come off and thought it was down to either a flat battery or at the sugestion of the AA operator was something to do with a mobile phone mast as the car had driven perfectly to my destination and had locked up fine when I left it. The problem I have now is that on my stereo which is a standard Toyota single din cassette (so much for the well speced UK cars eh !!) there is now a small illuminated picture of a key and "HELP" on the display. Anyone know how to get round this as I've got an hours motorway drive to do a little later and the thought of it without music does not appeal !.
  9. Shouldn't worry about it too much, I stuck some GS300 wheels on mine a little while ago and assuming the finish is the same as mine they are sooo easy to clean compared to the standard wheels, for some reason the brake dust just doesn't seem to stick to them = COOL !!.
  10. There's quite a bit of rain forcast for tomorrow ,best watch yourself coming off roundabouts (you wouldn't be the first).
  11. Yeah for sure get this done, fronts and rears both worked lose on mine and made it handle like a shopping trolly ., Took it to C.W for sorting and he nearly ended up in a field in it !!.
  12. Hmm, it's an idea (and not too bad a one at that) but to be honest considering the amount of sludge and crap that came out of mine when I flushed it out on its own I would say that it was that knackered that it's beyond anything other than a very temporary repair .
  13. Probably going on for a year now with no problems to date (other than near frost bite one day last November ).
  14. Yeah that's pretty much the sum of it, it's at the back of the engine bay mounted pretty much centrally and it's just a case of disconnecting the pipes from the matrix inlet / outlet and connecting them together (be careful not to get any kinks in it) and then checking for leaks. If I can do it anyone can .
  15. That's VTEC for you matey, personally coming from bikes (12k redlines) I'd love that kind of thing but for most car drivers it's just too demanding for everyday use and a PITA.
  16. Yep that'd be me then !!. Still re rooted but what the hell summers coming. I've braved the cold (and trust me it was !) but the leccy seats helped out and in time it will be sorted. To be honest I'd rather get a new smic on first, then radiator (sat in the garage still in Toyota box) and then the matrix. Kind of funny how every thing with fins has just rotted away on mine eh .
  17. Think you'll find a few people on here that agree with that but found out the hard way !.
  18. Good on ya budy, sounds like you got as really good deal there as U.K manuals are few and far between. Not all that suprised to hear it came up well with a bit of elbow grease as these are really well put together / finished cars. Did you get a chance to check the intercooler as like I said alot of the U.k ones are pretty well knacked now (mines like a Cadburys flake ) and it's the last thing you need on a turbo'd car when the temps rise. From what you've been told by the previous owner and read on here what extras / mods do you think it has ?.
  19. Check the intercooler !!. It's on the drivers side behind the front inicator, give it a gentle prod and see if it falls apart as there are plenty of knackered (uk mainly) ones around now and a replacement is around £600, with summer coming you need it to be in good nick to help keep the charge cool.
  20. Why not try driving it with only three wheels on to save on tyre wear whilst you're at it .
  21. Hmmm, the similarities continue !!. I was also with Tesco when I fitted my Super Dragger,I declared it and they asked me if it was a performance modification and I stated the the reason for fitting it was that the O.E exhaust had rotted away and it was just a replacement. Thay way they had it on their records but there was no premium loading. Result .
  22. Yeah I thought of that one but like you said I will need to lift it from time to time as it's quite low.
  23. Thanks for that but I was pretty sure that I've seen on here somewhere how to do it though maybe it that I've been thinking about doing it for so long I imagined it !. I was hoping to have a go at it myself as after fitting my clear side indicators yesterday (wooo BIG job) I'm felling all technically confident !!.
