These are great!! Already got a couple of people in the office involved. Even got a scoreboard on the main office whiteboard. I've suceeded in shouting random numbers whilst someone is counting, Introduced myself to the new temp as the office bike (dont think she took it well), Walked into the bosses office and frantically switched the lights on and off, and the best by far was dry humping the copier. oh, and everyone in the building has now been called Dave.

Anyone tried Avon ZZ3's? Phoned for tyre prices just now and was given a price of £102 for the fronts and £120.22 for the rears for the ZZ3's. Just wanted to find out how good they are before i book the car in. Tyre sizes are: 245/40ZR18 Front 275/35ZR18 Rear Also, if anyone's got any other suggestions/prices I'd be grateful to hear them. Just seen this thread and I'm hoping to meet you all at lakeside. I'll be coming down the a12, so i take it i go left on the m25 and take turnoff sign posted for lakeside???. Will it be easy to find the rest of you?

The alarm/immobiliser is a clifford 650. When i bought the car a few weeks ago the bloke i bought it from told me that if the battery light was not showing the immobiliser was on. In this instance the car tries to start but will not fire. When deactivated the car normally starts fine. Does anyone know if this alarm has an immobiliser that will stop the car from trying as well?

If this is the case where do i look / what do i do, to make it fixed?

The immobiliser on the car doesn't usually stop the starter motor from trying. If the immobiliser isn't deactivated the starter just keeps trying but the engine wont fire.

No, not at all. Had been having problems with the alarm/immobiliser a few days ago, but that seems to be fine now. Just wont start. Tried again this morning, nothing happened when i turned the key the first 3 times, then on the 4th, started no problem.

I got in the car yesterday morning and turned the key but nothing happened, no clicking, just silence. Hadn't driven for a few days so i figured maybe the alarm had drained the battery. Hooked it up to my girlfriends car but it still did nothing. Got in the car later on and it started fine. Later last night had the same problem again. Is this likely to be the starter motor? If so does anyone know where i can get a new one fairly cheap?

I think that must have been me, i was on my way to chelmsford. Would have replied sooner but this is the first time i've looked at this page.

If the battery terminals are dirty could this cause the engine to cut out while i'm driving along?? This is my most worrying problem at the moment.

The car isn't with me at the moment but from memory the tyres are 235/40R18 at the front and 275/35R18 on the rear. Thanks for your help on the battery problem by the way. Phil

Hi I think my speedo is about 10-11% out as the car is still restricted but cuts out at 126 mph on my clocks instead of 112. Is there any way of calibrating the speedo to show the correct speed. Also to derestrict the car do i just need an SLD as the car has already been converted to mph with the 180mph clocks? Thanks Phil

Hi All, Don't know if anyone can help but i've been having some starting problems over the last couple of days. Only had the car since monday last week. Started saturday when the car just took longer than normal to start, then half a mile down the road all power cut out. Pulled over and the car started first time. Then yesterday car wouldn't start, didn't even try! So i jump started from my girlfriends car. Went to the shop and when i came out started fine. got home and washed the car, tried to start again after about 3 hrs and again nothing. I need some advice on what the cause of this might be. ie is the battery knackered or is it more likely that something is draining the battery while its just sitting there?? There is quite a powerful sound system in the car which i was running on a two hour drive friday evening, could this have caused problems. Since the first problem on saturday though, i havn't used the stereo at all, in an attempt to try and get some charge into the battery. If a new battery is required has anyone got any ideas on the best battery to use. Many thanks in advance Phil
