  1. As Pete has said, the dates have been announced. For some unknown reason they have moved it 3 weeks later starting on Thursday 10th October and finishing on Saturday 12th October. I know thats surprised quite a few people, and quite a lot had plans to do things around the usual September dates so I'm not sure what that does to everybody's plans? The weather is usually on the turn in October. It can start to get chilly at nights and the days are usually around 24 degrees but can be colder. It does mean the travel and hotels will be cheaper. The first big question is who is still interested in going? I need a genuine yes so I can guage how many may be going out, Im expecting numbers to have halved at least but want to see.
  2. so we have about 20 people interested from this thread and Facebook. However I am seeing a lot of people saying they want to go earlier and extend or head off to other bits of the US afterwards so what I may end up doing is finding a good deal with a travel agent for the right sorts of dates and then people contact that one travel agent and get in on the good deal and then extend as required. Suffice to say, there will be a whole load of us going for SIV2019 so keep the dates in your diary and soon as I have more of an idea on costs etc I will let everybody know.
  3. afternoon all, So next year is the 18th birthday for the club so I wanted to do a big event to celebrate, and what better way to celebrate than to go to the biggest Supra event in America, Supras in Vegas. So this year's event is in a few weeks time and the event site is here https://www.suprasinvegas.org/, but I want us to be there next year! So this will be Dragonball 2019, and there wont be a Dragonball in May 2019 so that everybody can save up for DB Does Vegas! I am out in Vegas in a few weeks time and I will be approaching a few hotels to see what special rates we can get, so I want to get an idea of numbers. The plan is that we would fly out on a Monday night or a Tuesday morning, we have 4 or 5 nights hotel and fly back Saturday or Sunday. So it would be up to 5 nights and you would need a week off work. The package would include hotel and domestic car hire (Dodge charger or similar). Flights will need to be booked separately as I cannot work out any way of getting you flights from your local airport, but I will have somebody like Dial A flight ready to take the booking. We wont be staying in the official hotel for SIV, they use the Excaliber and anybody whos been to Vegas will tell you its not the best. So it may be MGM or New York New York. So I am estimating £1000 per person to include flights, hotel and car hire, but having seen some of the recent offers it will be cheaper than that. So what do I need? If you are genuinely interested and really want to go then reply to this thread just saying yes. If you are a possible but not totally sure then dont say yes. It wont stop you going, but I need to have a realistic idea on numbers when talking to suppliers. Nobody is committing to anything at the moment, I just want an idea on numbers. Feel free to ask questions now and when Im out in Vegas in a few weeks time I will get more details from the hotels.
  4. the plan is to push the forum back up that hill and make it what it was before. I am back and will be helping push it that way and Im sure we can get things back to being fun and exciting!
  5. I will make sure theres one from the party on Saturday!! It needs a very dedicated photographer to take it, I'm hoping somebody brings a drone to avoid any PTSD incidents!
  6. how late is late? It may be worth contacting them to let you know if its going to be after 10pm as the night porter will need to check you in. J
  7. have you seen the satellite view of the location, from what I can see its a warehouse unless I have it wrong! Im certainly planning on being down there by 5pm as the traffic on the m25 on a friday is a killer. Will have my son with me too.
  8. I had planned on putting pictures up too but didnt get them from the phone to the PC!! thanks for the help chaps. After sclub on the weekend the car will be going off for some TLC so will get the windscreen sorted at the same time, hopefully with a green tint. It means I have to lose my footlong mkivsupra.net URL sticker thats been on there for ever!!
  9. Cant wait for this now, should be great! I wont be going straight to the sclub party afterwards though as I need to go back home to collect the other half! Will head to the sclub party saturday morning.
  10. got to the Supra this morning and there is a massive crack across the screen, starting from a stone chip in the corner! The screen has the dark shaded bit at the top, do I need to specify that with the Autoglass people when they replace or do all mkiv screens have the sunshade bit at the top? thanks J
  11. glad everybody got their confirmations through. Should be a fun event and once in a lifetime thing to think you were at a private launch with the designer of a car you will own in the future. Cos lets face facts, the mkV will be on all our car lists! Im driving down a little early as friday evening traffic can be a bitch on the m25!
  12. The organisation is out of my hands so I cant say when they will let you know I'm afraid. Assume if you got the plus 1 question then you are going would be how Im taking it, but dont be surprised if they have to cut numbers back. Expect the unexpected.
  13. They have closed registration now so I think they have enough mkiv cars. I cant say for certain when you will hear if you are in, they still havent announced the start time so I would expect to hear at the last minute. J
  14. lol, its going to be a whole tank of fuel just to get from there to Metropole!
  15. So my side skirts came to a sad end a few months back. So now I need to find some new ones. Does anybody have any Blitz side skirts they are looking to sell? thanks JB
  16. okay, link sent to those who asked. I would assume if you have done the link you are in. I will get them to confirm that is the case but assume you are going! We do now have enough (with those who I sent the link to this morning) so I wont be able to sign anybody else up unless I can make a special case to Toyota for a special car!
  17. they have not given me a time yet. But I would assume 6pm or so. I would sign up and then work it out from there as its an event not to miss as we wont get a chance again!
  18. not sure but its what I will be doing. S-club is on the 14th, this is the Friday and I will drive up afterwards.
  19. they still wont officially call it a Supra. I know Gazoo racing did, but Toyota have never officially called it that from what I can see!! So it may not be a Supra, but its their flagship sports car and the designer of the car from Japan will be there to answer questions.
  20. replied back via PM. Numbers will be limited on this folks so if you can attend let me know asap.
  21. Are you and your Supra free on the evening of the 13th July? I know its the s-club party that weekend but Toyota have asked us if we can provide up to 10 cars for the launch of a 'new car' down near Gatwick on the evening of Friday 13th July. If you know you can be free on that evening and you can bring your Supra along please let me know and I can get a list together of who would like to attend. It is a Friday down near Gatwick so you need to be very sure you can attend!
  22. Im glad everybody enjoyed it. We took a bit of a risk with the date but got away with it somehow!! Pod could only offer me March 2018 for the next one so I had to reject that. I will try and get something in 2019 and it would be great to do more with Batallion too.
  23. Hi folks, so Im still after some BC Coilovers for the club car. The front of the car sits very high and I want to drop the height all round a bit. I prefer the BCs as I haev them on my RSP. Looking to pay about £400. thanks
