  1. Shakespeare is also known as Avon Raceway. Its up near Birmingham and Coventry. 1/4 mile track but they wont hire it out directly, we would have to be part of a RWYB weekend.
  2. The car now has a new MOT and is taxed for another year, so it is off to Cornwall soon for the wrap. The car will be with us on Dragonball, either in my hands or in somebody elses, but it will be there.
  3. Just to be clear, I dont mind a good investigation in to what they are up to and who they are, but posting a home address in public when we dont actually know who they are worries me slightly. Hence why it was removed. No intention on hiding anything or protecting them, just making sure we have the right person. Watching this with interest...
  4. I know the research in to who he is is going well but I have removed the address from the domain registration info for the moment.
  5. Yep, they seem to have times up on their site now so I have asked Scott to get in touch and see what time they will give us. I would assume the 4.35pm showing.
  6. They found me on facebook so I'm afraid I dont have any background on them, will certainly keep an eye on them now.
  7. Defo the 4th April. Not quite sure how we can work out the timings etc on this as we need the cinema to confirm times and they wont do that for a week or two yet!! But yes, the 4th April is the one. I will get tickets in the club shop this coming week.
  8. I think we have a suitable gap in events around the start of July so I may see if we can slot in there somewhere.
  9. Today I have stuck a wooden spatula under the front of the bonnet!!
  10. That must be Pete's second room for his shoes and dresses. I'm sure you can kip in there if you dont play with his shoes while he isnt looking. Might be good to get Pete to check with Steve on the buffet...
  11. Lol, naturally. 6sp is agricultural, clunky, geared too closely for a big 3lt car and just hard work to get right every time.
  12. Okay, here is a list of all attendees, along with their choice of Double or Twin room, and the number of buffet tickets they have purchased. Any changes to this shout right now as I wont be able to change rooms after Tuesday when the hotel confirms this back to me.
  13. I have to disagree. I have always said that I could probably be within a second or two of a manual car on a track day. Having owned and driven fairly hard auto and 6speed cars I know using the autobox as manually as possible will give a very quick car. It has engine braking, it is quick to shift and it never misses a gear. I always make sure I have decent brake pads on the car too as it is just a different driving style.
  14. I was busy lining up ashbuster's bonnet just in case, always wanted a carbon bonnet and it would have been a perfect excuse!!
  15. Me too. Having looked at the bonnet release cable work, you cant actually get to it from underneath via the bumper or even via the engine undertray. There is a plastic cover under the area where the cables run to and the radiator is in the way too. Make me wonder what the next step was if the spatula hadnt worked.
  16. Oh Mr Wilson, you were right as always. Got a large wooden fish slice, pushed it in there and levered it open. Yay, its open now!! Thanks for your help folks. Must add that fish slice to my emergency kit for the car.
  17. Thanks Chris, WOuld the ignition cabling be robust enough to take that sort of power? I wouldnt want to end up melting the ignition cabling on top of everything else. My front undertray is missing so I may be able to do that, any particular place to connect the earth to when the jump start is down that way? Just off out to give it a go. I put my left hand over where the catch would be and smacked it pretty hard a lot of times with my right...I'm expecting bruises!!
  18. Just been out to whack the bonnet while somebody pulls the cable and it still wont release!! The Halfords charger cant put enough power back in to the battery via the ciggy lighter socket so thats out. Can anybody recommend a mobile mechanic in Herts that can come out and take a look? And does anybody have any pictures showing the bonnet release mechanism under the bonnet so I can see what I'm aiming for if I can reach up from underneath.
  19. I this point I'm willing to try anything!!
  20. I sold a UK spec 6sp to go back to an auto!! Dont nobody diss the autos.
  21. The hotel we are looking at isnt cheap, its around £80 per room including breakfast. But it is set in amazing grounds with a pool and gym so it is nice and secure for the cars. Would people rather spend £45 on a hotel and put the rest towards beer, or stay somewhere nice for a change rather than the Ibis type places we tend to end up in (you heathens...)
  22. I still have some juice in the battery so I can get the lights on the dash to come up. The instructions say to turn on the ignition and leave it like that for 15 mins, but unplug before you try turning the car over. It may not work but I'm no worse off so hopefully it does the job!!
  23. Tried pulling the cable hard while pushing and banging the bonnet and still wouldnt release. Found a charger at Halfords that will give a charge to the battery via the ciggy lighter, not really happy doing that but will give it a go and see if it helps.
  24. But if you do raise a dispute, please make sure its something at least from this decade....
  25. Thanks for all the advice chaps. Looks like I'm going to have to either get the front jacked up and try going past the undertray, or call out the AA even though I dont have homestart on my account. If I can get the car started I can drive it to a garage, but I cant bump it as its an auto. I did get a set of pliers and pulled the cable from inside the car and it still wouldnt release, so it seems to be jammed on one side. It just doesnt even release teh bonnet at all so it is fully shut. Bugger.
