  1. Ah, was going to ask if it could be riveted. Does it make up and massive structural / torsional rigidity?
  2. Excellent, thanks David! Doesn't look TOO bad!? Fancy doing another one?? Lol. Is it do-able on axle stands? Not likely to get on a ramp for the conversion. Also, is it likely I could remove the manual tunnel from the manual car and it still be re-usable on my car??
  3. Can anyone that's done this tell me, or point me in the direction of what is involved in modifying the tunnel? Looking for hands on experience as I'd like to do this myself, but need to know exactly what's involved before getting stuck in. By the way, correction for above, it's a W58 not R154. It's the standard NA transmission.
  4. Ok, what's involved in the tunnel modification?
  5. Does the transmission tunnel need to be modified for the R154 5-speed? I thought it was just for the V160 6-speed?
  6. The main thing I was wandering was the loom. Do I need to change the entire loom?? Everything else is just a straight bolt-off / bolt-on.
  7. I may be just about to acquire a manual donor car. So I'd have everything needed at my disposal. What exactly will I need to swap over to FULLY convert my car to manual?
  8. Christ, yeah...how did that happen? Hopefully mine isn't the water pump. With the typical Bank Holiday weather, I've not been able to investigate today.
  9. Scott, you're quite right, there is quite a build up of debris between the two. Have also now noticed that that the piece of sponge along the bottom of the rad is saturated. Guess there could be a problem at the bottom somewhere. Dnk, the expansion tank is in it's stock location, in front of the slam panel. The overflow is just a short 90 degree pipe coming off the cap. All dry there. Point to note though, the expansion bottle does run very low. The rad level however stays up.
  10. I seem to have sprung a leak! But, it only seems to come on when I park up after a spirited drive. Normal driving it's ok. I'm struggling to see where it's leaking from so I thought I'd post to see if there's any usual suspects? My guess is the rad, but visually in situ it looks mint! The coolant is dripping from the cross member which runs underneath the rad. Here's a quick iPhone video taken just now after parking up at home. http://youtu.be/wE2zPpxkJog Any pointers gratefully received before I resort to pulling the rad out.
  11. I've fitted Goodrich all round on mine and had the same issue. The fronts fit exactly as stock, but the rear knuckles that sit in the bracket for the C-clip are not even close!
  12. I'll try and get up to this! Especially if Emma is bringing cakes!! 1. KamaSupra 2. GreaseMonkey 3. Soopra +1 4. Gretie22 +1 (Maybe 2) 5. Silversoop 6. Coleboy 7. Sabrina (Maybe) 8. Big Supes (Maybe) 9.Coleboy+1 in a Merc tho! 10. EmmaLouise55 (hopefully) 11. FizzyT 12. Si's Supe
  13. K&N! When I fitted mine there was a noticeable improvement in throttle response and it *seems* to pull better mid range too. Although I drive a lowly NA so my opinion doesn't count! Haha.
  14. You don't want to sell mate! You know it! Looks lovely mate!
  15. That was a close call!! I bet the drive back home was sedate!!
  16. Ah yes, good point! Ignore me....I'll go sit in the corner!! Haha.
  17. Could possibly be a damaged / loose pipe on the hanger? As the fuel level drops past the problem area there would be air sucked into the system?
  18. I bought one of these for my old TT6. With both cats in place it was not much louder than the standard system TBH. Fitment was fine though and the quality of the welds were impeccable, especially considering the price! Paid £170 delivered which was pure madness. I would say however that there are certainly better looking tailpipes out there!!
  19. I'm just about to place an order with Opie for some service parts for my NA. I normally use genuine filters, but since I'm ordering with some oil and Opie have 20% off until midnight, is it worth putting their UFI oil and fuel filters on? They seem well approved, but what's everyone's opinions? Also price wise, the oil filter is £4.98 and the fuel filter £33.18. How does this compare to Toyota prices? Obviously, being Bank Holiday, I can't check on prices. Cheers in advance.
  20. Well I've changed my rad cap for a brand new Toyota one and I'm pretty sure the OP has too. So I at least just need to check the overflow neck / pipe and it that's all good then I'm imagining a problem! Would seem the OP certainly has an issue somewhere though to be splitting all these hoses. Unless all his hoses are faulty and are popping one by one?
  21. My current poverty spec N/A at recent PistonHeads gathering. And my old TT6.
  22. Yep, Sticky Stuff Remover FTW!! Brilliant product.
  23. That's actually a good shout! Although it'd have to be one hell of a blockage to hold in excess of 1.1 / 1.3 bar!
  24. .'..'..?.,.'.,.'. You forgot these! Good luck with your fault finding though. I'd say Crank Sensor is the prime suspect!
