  1. As for RLTC...maybe another day! I think really, slip control OFF is the way to go. At least that way you should half expect the odd twitch here and there. Having it switched on gives a false sense of security!
  2. Oh now that would be embarrassing! I see your sig has changed!! Number 7 ay? RSP??
  3. Yep, I prefer traction control off too as I find it interferes too much. When it's on it's normally quite effective at stopping a slide but last night it was useless! The lights were flashing but had I not reacted like I did, I'd have been in a tree before the traction control knew what was going on!
  4. Wish I could've seen it from the Astra driver's view actually. Must've looked awesome, if a tad comical, seeing this Supra fly away then show a flash of drivers side bodywork before straightening up and carrying on like nothing had happened.
  5. This week is the 1st time I've really driven the Supra in the wet since I bought it. I have a little Fiesta as a daily so the Supra is my toy. I've always been impressed with the grip levels in the dry and all this week I used the Supra for my drive to and from work, taking it as a good chance to switch the slip control off and get to know the car in the wet. Got more and more at one with it and started to learn its limits. Anyway, tonight I decided to go to Shell and top up with fuel for a trip to the in laws tomorrow. Pretty crappy weather, slip control ON, driving through a 30 zone at 30. Got some prick in an Astra van right on my back bumper. Never being one to speed in 30 & 40 zones, I bide my time knowing we're approaching a national speed limit and hold the car at 30 in 3rd. Get to the national speed limit and open up! Car slowly builds speed through 1st turbo then comes the rush of #2 and before I know what's happening I'm fully broad side with my HIDs illuminating the trees on the other side of the road!! As it happens, I corrected with no drama and continued on my merry way...in 6th at 60! Really goes to show though...alway have your wits about you! I've had many RWDs before but to anyone with a TT as a first RWD, go easy! I'd be interested to hear anyone else's 'brown pants moments' so post away!
  6. You'd be chuffed I'm sure if you were staging against this noob at the drag strip!!
  7. Tis a repost, but I don't mind looking at it again!!
  8. Will do the idle control valve while I'm at it.
  9. Nice one. Thanks mate. I thought that'd be the case, but if unsure...it's always worth the ask!!
  10. Your car looks stunning mate! The photos in your garage were taken on Portsdown Hill I presume? Wheels look similar to the ones on the Bentley Continental!! Nice!!
  11. I'm in Waterlooville. How about you?? There's a nice pub on the A32/A272 cross road in West Meon called the...err...West Meon!! (originality at its best!) PistonHeads regularly hold meets there so this could be a potential venue. Lovely surrounding roads for a hoon too. If we can get an idea of numbers, I'm happy to arrange something somewhere. Maybe even make it a regular thing if it's a success!
  12. Hmmm, yea I'd seen this but nothing much goes on in there and since the forum description says: "Major events with a high club presence. For smaller events and local meets please use the forums below." I was thinking more along the lines of a little get together at a pub somewhere one evening. Preferably along a nice driving road / route. A bit like the PistonHeads lot do. (Pub Club etc.)
  13. Ive cleaned throttle bodies on several of my previous cars before with carb cleaner (engine running, intake pipe off and spray short bursts of cleaner into the TB) It's always seemed to have a fairly positive effect on performance and response, though who knows if it's psychological or not. Anyway, I want to do the Supra but just wanted to confirm that carb cleaner won't cause any harm to the ETCS in the TB?
  14. Im sure someone will prove me wrong here as usual but I can't seem to find any small local meets. Are there ever any organised?? I'm local to Hampshire and would love to meet up with some people from the club.
  15. Apart from the arse end, I think it's really nice! But then since we're Supra owners, it's got pretty big boots to fill in the arse end department!!
  16. That is uber freaky!! It pulled up photos that were taken inside my flat, photos of my Supra and even of my cat!!
  17. Spent the day under sealing the Supra at my local garage having hired one of their ramps. The car has been in the country since 1997 and as far as I'm aware it hadn't been under sealed (if it had, it's not been done for quite some time!) Considering this, it really wasn't in too bad a state at all. Just some minor surface corrosion in places. I wire wheeled / brushed all corroded surfaces including suspension components, then applied a coat of Kurust (awesome stuff!) Once it had dried, I went over the whole underside with black under seal. Looks soooo much better now and I'm much happier now knowing its sorted! Up in the air! Before (excuse the cable tie on the exhaust mount, didn't have any new rubbers when I fitted the cat back but will have some when the decats go on!) After I did do the cills on a two poster afterwards but forgot to take photos of it all finished. Also, this evening I added some new sidelight and rear number plate lights. I used the bright CREE 501 bulbs and I'm really impressed with them. Photos don't really do them justice due to the glare of photographing lights - in the dark - on a phone, but they look really clean and crisp, especially against the silver paintwork. CREE LED on the left vs standard LED on the right. Both in and complimenting the 4300k HIDs. And CREEs again for the rear number plate lights.
  18. OK. I can supply you with what ever you need. If you don't fancy fitting yourself, I can talk to the manufacturer to get details of a trusted installer in your area.
  19. Yes, it's electric. Comes complete with two transmitters too.
  20. Cheers Westy. Only got the one unfortunately. I bought it as a spare for my S70R as that was getting through a set of fronts every 4000 ish miles but it never went on!
  21. I did spot Jamie's post a few days ago but looks like he's sorted already.
  22. We have two garage doors available for sale. They're both top quality brand new items but one was mis-measured by us (sectional) and the other we were let down by our customer (roller). The sectional is a Hormann LTE40 m-ribbed 7'x6'6" £490 The roller door is an SWS Seceuroglide in white 4370mm x 2360mm £1195 Both these prices are supply only and collected by you. We should be able to arrange delivery for around £50. We only deal with good quality doors so you can rest assured these are good doors. For photos and specs you can Google the doors above or look on our website at http://www.prestigegaragedoors.co.uk
  23. 225/40 ZR18 A good 6mm of tread across the tyre. Not the usual Supra size I know, but ideal for anyone running on stretched tyres. £50 collected or £55 delivered.
  24. Not usually a fan of red Supras but this is stunning!! I really don't think you should sell. You'll never find another like it!! If you do decide to sell though, it's probably not worth more than £1500 but I'll be willing to take it off your hands for that. I'm good like that!!
