    Wheel nuts

A friend of mine had some of these supplied by Rare Rims with his Rotas for his Civic VTi...they snapped!! I've got some black RAYS durilium nuts on mine and they're strong as you like but the black anodising has worn off quite a few so they look a little shabby now, which is really annoying as they looked really nice around my black BBS centre caps! Also, if you use a socket with even the smallest amount of dirt in it, it WILL scratch the hell out them. If you are going for coloured / ally nuts though, I'd recommend the RAYS purely because they have nice lockers with them that look the same as the normal nuts!
  2. I think you just need to make sure they're torqued properly and in the correct sequence. (not sure what the sequence is though, opposites I guess!?) also, you run the risk of breaking one or more of the bolts when undoing them. But then that's a risk if you or anyone else does it. Just go easy with it, and think how nice they'll look when finished!!
  3. Had thought about it but decided it would be a bit OTT really. Just going to remove the front uppers to get the legs out and inspect the rest in situ. Re tracking/camber etc, that wouldn't be the end of the world as it will get a full 4 wheel alignment after lowering anyway!
  4. Will do. Nic, that's excellent info as usual, thanks! Why have I never seen that before!?
  5. I plan on getting my finger out and making a start on my suspension tomorrow. Plan on getting it all off tomorrow and then refitting next weekend. Whilst its off I'm going to replace front discs and pads and rear pads only on my UKs and give the calipers a lick of paint. Also thought I'd check my wishbone bushes / ball joints for any play while I'm there (if they come off without too much fuss) -what would be classed as excessive play? I'm guessing there should be SOME movement front to back and side to side? -what are the correct torque settings for the suspension and subframe? Don't want to over tighten the wishbones. -are there any potential / common problems I should be aware of before starting? Thanks in advance guys!
  6. Instead of the whole dash, why not just do the grey plastics?? Then maybe the spark plug cover as mentioned above. Just my thoughts, personally not my cup of tea but at least it can be returned to OEM easily at a later date in-like if you did the whole dash.
  7. Love this! http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=1_kwxzU4wL4&vq=medium
  8. I have sent you a PM Benson. As I said, give me a shout as and when you're ready and we'll meet up.
  9. Geez!! My arse clenched and I was watching it on my iPhone!!! That was soooo close!!
  10. I thought this may be the case. I'll swap the springs over and flog the shocks on. Anyone after a nice set of shocks?? Lol.
  11. Nice one, cheers Scott. I thought this would be the case! All I need to know now is should I fit the legs as they are or swap the springs onto my Bilsteins? How's Supra #7 progressing?
  12. Just bought a complete set of KYB Gas-a-Just shocks fitted with Eibach Pro springs that have covered ~5000 ish miles. I wanted to use Eibach Pros but the shocks were a bonus really. My questions are: 1. Am I better off fitting the Eibachs to my yellow Bilsteins or are the KYBs a better setup? 2. How easy/difficult is it to remove/refit the legs? I guess actually unbolting them is easy enough, but do I need to remove any wishbones/other parts to manoeuvre the legs out and back in?? Also, I'll be doing it on the floor if that makes any difference.

    how often

Once, sometimes twice a day and I like to alternate between my left and right hand... ...oh wait...scratch that, got the wrong end of the stick! *cracks on with what he was doing*
  14. Again, not sure about interior bulbs, I'd guess a festoon bulb but you're best off just popping it out and checking!? I've just upgraded my number plate lights to CREE 501 bulbs from Lightec Autostyle. Top company to deal with and the CREEs are super bright and look great. Also did my sidelights too.
  15. I think I've come up a bit!! That is lovely!! I almost went for a VVTi Tiptronic but was put off by the fact you can't de-limit them without issues with the gearbox!
  16. Agreed! That is STUNNING and something I can only aspire to!!
  17. What a nob cheese!! If someone really wants to treat their own car like that, it's their porogative but why would you think that's a 'plus' point to put in a for sale ad!?!? It seems all their cars get the same treatment looking at the YouTube channel!! Don't deserve the keys to a nice car IMO.
  18. No, that's part of the headlight.
  19. We all know the Supra is the best looking car on the road! But, I saw this whilst at work today and it thought it was stunning! Striking lines and the white body / red leather combo really looked great. Some people don't like them but I personally think they're lovely. What do you all think?
  20. Like Ken Block on two wheels!! Love his gymkhana videos.
  21. Agreed! I've got ContiSport Contact 3s on the rear. Brilliant tyre. Still got Dunlops on the front which were on the wheels when I bought them...shocking tyres!!
  22. Lol. Take a look at this...makes my 'brown pants moment' fade into insignificance! I think his 'A' hole twitched somewhat!!
  23. 10/10 for admitting you're own fault! Many people try and blame something on the road but most of the time it is down to driver error! My episode included...the road was wet...I should have considered it before booting it! You live and learn!
