  1. I am no expert on your quandry, but logic must be applied. Your car "as is " is worth what? Add the cost of TT lump and ancilliaries, plus all the other gubbins needed to convert to Tiptronic. Do you need a new prop and diff with this set-up, probably likely (awaits confirmation) Then, factor in potential labour costs, even if you are doing the work yourself, then imagine the scenario that would ensue when you eventually get it road-worthy, and need to inform your insurance company thatyou have changed your car, barring the shell, carpets and seats? Imagine the scenario when you may need to sell the resultant project due to an unforeseen personal circumstances...............May be worth a third of what its cost you, not to mention the blood, sweat and tears.Forget it, sell your current motor, and buy what you ultimately desire, and save yourself some money, etc, etc. Sorry to piss on your chips, but I am sure the majority on this forum will agree with me:)
  2. PM me your adress and phone num. Am meeting Beefybix at the weekend, so will be near(ish) you then. Two birds, one stone, etc...........
  3. Am in the same boat as Hoff, althuogh mine is less of a gutter as I am self employed, but had no work since mid-November Anyone need any Terrazzo/Mosaic doing?
  4. Sorry Ric, think I had second dibbs..........? Post 10
  5. PM'd:) oops ,sorry Hoff, if you dont require then 2nd dibbs on above
  6. Running your car at a standstill is a no no my friend. I am sure someone will come along to explain the technicalities. Oh, and to highlight that this is a 6yr old thread. Record? Mind you, at least you done a search:)
  7. My mate got his bumped in the local Asda today, no note of course......................... Back on topic, I live a few miles from Knowsley safari park, and IMO anyone that takes their p+j there must be mad:search: Monkies are KNOWN for their destructful/curious antics, but other animals can wreack as much havoc. A long time ago I had a Escort RS 2000 (Mk2), with a brown vinyl roof, and some hairy-arsed camel decided to scratch his flea-bitten neck on it!It tore off the roof gutter trim and about 6 inches of the vinyl, all this whilst nearly lifting one side of the car off the floor:blink: Never again..............
  8. I got a quote for bomex sideskirts and vielside spats for £300. You will have to pm him if you just want the skirts Who's a lucky boy then...........................:D
  9. It is NOT a police matter: it is a Civil offence to not have Road Tax. Do it on line, Post Offices will be busy tomorrow. Very.............
  10. I, ve got unused replicas, make me an offer?

    Sz-r

Sounds like you have all been mis-informed. Hope I am wrong, but I was after SZ-R, and all that I went for were 6 speed. All http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=172337revealed here
  12. Am I corrrect in thinkink the SZ-R is a 6 speed manual? Loving that kit though.
  13. Or, RARELY annoying:D Couldn't resist.............
  14. Would be very interested in his appraisal; your mate sounds like my type of geek:D However good he thinks they are, I still wouldn't consider, though. The wiring of speakers, in itself, is a science. There are guys out there that spend £400 PER METRE on speaker cable:search: Having said that, IMO OFC Monster cable is excellent for all applications except esoterica.
  15. Sorry guys, but if you spend £566 on this you need your head feeling. The only decent part is the subwoofer, and thats only 6.5 inches. Philips have never been "up there" along even middle of the road speaker manufacturers. Would you fit Philips speakers in your car? As I said in my first reply, it depends on your definition of what "good sound" is, but these will be GASH compared to a £500 wired speaker set-up. Sorry to p$$ on your chips, but you want opinions, and thats my (informed) opinion:tongue:
  16. Unless you are prepared to spend a grand, I am afraid that £300 wireless systems will seriously be compromised on the sound quality, and a lot of other technical specs. Unfortunately the time is a long way off when ANY wireless speaker system can compete sonically with a "wired" speaker. Is there any way you can access under your floor? I recently fitted a solid oak floor in my living room, but pre-wired prior to fitting. However, I am a tad fanatical with regards to audio quality, and maybe a sound demonstration prior to purchase may be a worthwhile exercise. You need to listen out for hissing from the speakers during quiet moments, if you can live with that then thats fine for your needs.
  17. He's also got an Impreza "Showcar" for sale..!
  18. Its next to the Police Club, Fairfield, L7. There is also an independent at Almonds Green, West Derby Village which has historically been outrageous with its prices. I assume they justify with personal service,ie. they fill up for you; strangely, I always see at least one car there when passing:search:
  19. What they do around Liverpool is get right up my arse for a hundred yards or so, wait till the time is right, then overtake me with ease. This occurs when I am negotiating a mile of speed humps, and REALLY does happen! A lot..............
  20. About time too. The differential between diesel and unleaded has been well more recently than it was before crude exponentiated last year. There is an independent garage near me in Liverpool that (on Saturday) still had diesel at £1.12!
  21. There is definitely more than 1cm of travel when pushed on the rear panel. New shocks to be ordered me thinks.............. Thanks to contributors:)
