  1. Lucky you. Try £937, aged 47, no points/convictions, never claimed- a model customer if you like, same car as you.............. That was 2 yrs ago, after that when my renewal was due they REFUSED to quote me, so went elsewhere and got it for £740 (I think) The above figures are for the car kept OFF ROAD AND GARAGED. Now pay £343 on a classic policy, used them before on various Porsches I've owned. They are in Birmingham, but will only quote if you are over 30 and the car is garaged. If you fall into this PM me and will give you the guys number direct. Ps, it also needs to be a 2nd vehicle with an agreed mileage.
  2. Has the bonnet got any dings/scratches etc. If not, will be interested.
  3. Most of it is down to your POSTCODE.My first year of Supra ownership cost me £760 with Sky (47, never claimed, NA), when it came up for renewal, they refused to quote me, so went with Bell for the princely sum of £943. This year, have managed to insure with Norton on a Classic Policy as its only a weekend car, for £340. Some of the premiums on young guys on here driving TTs and singles beggars belief from a Liverpool perspective.
  4. Is it facelift? Rear markers say "yes", front side/wing indicaters say otherwise. Has it got 3 or 5 dials? All relevant in valuation. Btw, George, the rear seats are vinyl-sorry.........
  5. It LOOKS well worth £2600, but I have to say them spats let it down. A lot. The bumper I would have put up with at that price, fitting and painting a new one would have still been worth it. White, IMO, is the only colour that can carry the Veilside bumper.
  6. Keron, these still for sale? How much? Updated pics, marks, etc. Will my old seats fit in my car with these fitted? Have you got a decent, unmarked auto shifter? Regards, Paul. Can you text me on 07751-801560 as I may not be able to get to a PC for a few days. Can you mail me some pics to [email protected] for reference, please. Thanks.
  7. As is, you would need to find a buyer who appreciates the Veilside kit. To take back to stock or change for a more "modern" kit would cost a lot in relation to the value of the car. Best to stick on PH for around £4500 and be prepared to wait. Are you in a hurry? Pics would help a forum evaluation. Is it pre or facelift, manual or auto? More details required, please.
  8. Work has finally picked up, so the car has a fresh MOT, no advisorys and finally getting some use again Its lack of use has meant I have been-surprise, surprise-drving other vehicles. I now have noticed that the steering is very light, even at speed. Probably its been like this all the time, but it seems obvious now. Trawling through the site, I have noticed that e-bay TSD dont alter the progression of the power, or balls it up altogether? The car was fitted with a cheap e-bay speedo face (120mph) when I bought it, which I have now changed to 180mph. I am about to purchase a Thor combined speedo converter and TSD, but am unable to find any evidence of any converter/rewiring when the dash was completey removed (panels) Is there anything I could look for on the ECU wiring to see if a TSD has already been fitted? If it has I will remove it prior to fitting the Thor unit. The steering issue is bothering me now, and I keep getting the dreaded "O/D OFF" flashing, which suggests some previous tampering has been done. I will check for dry odo joints when I receive my LED heater conversion from Heckler, but can anyone give me pointers regards the apparent steering issue?
  9. Si, can you put me in the queue, please. I shall only require the heater module and blue knobs conversion as I've done the rest myself. Trawling through your "how to" several times has made me realise that this aspect of the conversion is an experts job. Pm me with details when you are ready, and thanks for the blue gel, mate.:)
  10. Seems unlikely to be a coincidence, if you think about it.Have you removed the stock airbox for an after market? Did you disconnect the sensor behind the panel filter? Faulty or sticking ICV causes the problems you describe. Remove, clean with brake cleaner, re-fit, and all should be well, if thats your problem:)
  11. Pm'd, Si. You've got me going now since I bought them dash bulbs off you a few months ago
  12. Yeah, Jamesy, its just that it seems such a waste to buy all that for a few inches
  13. Only require enough to do the odo and clock. Was wondering if anyone has a bit knocking around unwanted/left over from a conversion. Seems they come in big sheets, I only need a few square inches! Thank you:)
  14. Whats white, sticky and found hopping around on the floor? Come dancing!
  15. "Also trying to find a decent replacement automatic gear handle cover thing. The leather one on mine is worn and looks like whoever had it before me wore rings on that hand. " Lukeyboy is selling his for £30 . I was interested, bot am ordering a new Levoc one from Australia soon as I have managed to get some work up to Xmas. I priced a new stock one from my local Mr T- £68 +vat.
  16. The thing is, if you refer back to my 1st post, I have no difficulty with complicated fuseboards, two/three way wiring, etc. This is what had me stumped, such an allegedly simple job. Can't wait till 8pm to see the difference
  17. Knightracer, but they were purchased via a Group Buy in December 2007, I kid you not. Still available, I believe.
  18. Sorted. It seems the plug that goes to the existing bulb plug is not a good fit. Upon closer inspection following your collective advice, I gave it a good, no really good, push. Hey, Presto-it worked. Doh! So, for reference, ensure this is pushed FULLY home, or you'll end up looking a fool, like me Thanks for the input, guys, and for Michael pointing out the inadequacies of my puchase
  19. So outside I shall go to try again. Thank God for decent weather:D
  20. The only facility of polarity changing is at the ballast plug. Still the same........... The red and black wires with the connecters are not interchangeable. The plug to the existing bulb can only be fitted one way.
  21. No, Michael, this was bought on a Knightracer group buy. I have realised that an additional loom may be required, but as to where it fits, I have no idea. Making another loom presents no problem. I'm stumped (for once )
  22. Ok, Jacko, will give that a go now.Thanks.
  23. See, it should only take half an hour or so.I know about ballast mounting and placement issues, I just cant get mine to fire up. I have changed polarity, no difference. It seems fom past threads that an additional feed from the battery is required. To where....... Aaaaargh! There is no facility within the supplied loom for any augmentive wiring.
