  12. a have no idea till my mate has a look later!
  13. I have no idea. not mechanically minded im afraid. My mate is tho! In the end i still needed rear pads as the one side only had 1mm of life left. The warning shim has been stratchin for a few days now. They said that with it being siezed it will wear the new pad down fast, until the same thing happens again. At first they said the piston wouldnt budge and thought they might have to put the old pads back on just to get me mobile but they managed to free something. Still say i need a new caliper tho. They were the only people that could get the pads in stock so quick so i stuck with them. Will get another opinion 2morro. Just glad theres no scratchin noises!
  14. If i never i wouldnt have know the caliper was siezed!
  15. Well i found the cause of my problem after several visits to quickfit to be a siezed caliper. They told me that the caliper is constantly pushing the pad to disk causing it to wear fast on one side (at the rear). They managed to release the caliper back to put the new pads on but say i still need a new caliper. Best they can do is get a price from toyota for a new caliper! Is there an easier solution? Any idea roughly how much this is gonna cost me? just drove the car home thereand feels ok with no noise!
  16. Its an NA 94 Jap, i know the UK spec front bumber in my garage pics are misleading! Bloody bought it with that on it and its not an R reg either ....... DVLA put wrong year of plate in, It should be an L or M! Also when the car is at high revs (and engine light appears) there is no loss of power, the car performs as usual apart from i go easy on the accelerator until it goes off again! its just happening more frequent! Sorry i should have seperated my problems a bit better, 1 Engine light appears at high revs with no loss of power and stays on for a minute or so (Think this happens more when the car has been off, then i suddenly put the foot down) 2 Car has juddered twice in the past week, (like someone controling a manual car that cant use a clutch!) and while flooring it today seemed to jump outa gear and reved high, like the clutch slipping on a manual car
  17. cheerz guys, knew i would get help here! Planning on takin car down to Blackpool (200mile) to see the mother n law n wanna make sure car is sound before i go!
  18. the engine malfunction light has been appearing aswell a little more often than i need to see. It comes on when at high revs and stays on for a minute, have to try n check there error codes but not sure how. Im getting the rear pads changed today as the warning shim is rubbing the brake disk, could this be causing the engine light and red exclamation mark to come on now and then?
  19. Not like the car but in the past day or two there has been 2 instances where the car has juddered a bit, and today (while flooring the car through the gears) the car reved with no power, like a manual car would do when the clutch slips. Its never happened before, has this happened to anyone before? wrong place, sorry! meant to be in technical! can a mod move please!
