  1. Yeah I enjoyed the show also, it was a bit chavy but I still had a good time! I definitely like the idea of going V8 rather than N/A-T and I'd mostly like to do it because it seems like quite an original thing to do.
  2. How much work is there involved in the conversion Chris? Is it quite a big job because it would be just me and my mate fitting it and the engine is peanuts.
  3. Yeah, It prob needs a good going over (full service) but I'd still love to come on Sunday. Grrrrr I hate being so indecisive!!! Well I think the best thing to say is if I'm at the cafe at 10:30 then I'm coming!!!
  4. Yeah but if the V8 conversion is quite straight forward I could probably get the V8 bought and fitted for £500!!!
  5. I swear I've lost about 50bhp somewhere in the past week! Its driving me mad!!!!
  6. Still don't know about this??? I would really like to come and see everyone again but I think the Supra could probably do with a service rather than a run in the hills!!! Im 50/50 on this:rolleyes:
  7. Hey Red how are you doing? No, I never got the exhaust off Geneb but nevermind. Hope you enjoyed the show, did you take your car up the strip in the end? Adam (McLovin?!?!?) how cheap can you get an N/A-T done?
  8. I have recently read that the 4Ltr V8 out of a Lexus GS can fit into the Supra quite easily. The mounts are in the same place and the gearbox just requires a connector plate. Does anyone have anymore information on how big or small a job this is because I know of one right now (including all ancilleries and loom) going very cheap at a local breakers! Or should I just stay away? Thanks;)
  9. On my MR2 T I always left the turbo timer on auto and it used to take into account how hard I had been driving the car/time I had been driving for and the average time it used to work out was around 2-3 minutes sometimes 4 so I'd think you were about right where you are. When I used to drive just through town to the shops (off boost, sticking to 30,etc.) I just switched it off!
  10. Cheers Adam but for now I think I'll do as Linda suggested and give the car a good going over with just cleaning the sensors, oil change, new fuel filter and oil filter, plugs etc. My plans for the car are to keep it N/A but to make it more responsive and more drivable. I ran at Santa Pod earlier this year when the car was standard with the air temp at about 28 degrees and I ran a 15.7. I would love to get it in the mid 14's!
  11. Wow! Thanks Linda, sounds as though a little TLC can work wonders. Thanks for the advice and I'll let you know how I get on.
  12. I never considered the sensors! Duh! Thanks for that. Can they just be cleaned or is it much better to just replace them? How much were they for yours?
  13. No there's no way I would purchase a stand alone ECU just for what I'm after. That would be crazy. Like I've said before, I'm just trying to make the car a little more responsive and thats why I thought of a simple remap, but I'm struggling to find ways to make it that little bit more responsive...........oh well!
  14. Thanks for your help guys. This is getting harder and harder with each step I take:(
  15. Oh........................... Are there aftermarket chips available?
  16. I have contacted 7 different ECU remapping companies today with regards to booking mine in to have it remapped, and although they seem to say that nearly all cars can be done (one company even said 95% of all cars!) the four that have so far got back to me have all told me that they cannot do the Supra N/A:(. One company even told me that N/A Supras are "BAD" for remapping???? Has anyone else on here ever had this trouble? Also can someone please point me in the direction of a company who can and will remap the ECU. Thanks!
  17. Look's very nice mate, and as for the price........
  18. Yes, I definitely am!! If you could post up a list of all known mod that have been done to your car it would be very much appreciated!!!
