  1. Yeah I know, if I don't get any satisfaction I might PM you mate.
  2. Don't get me wrong, the kit is good quality as many will pay testament to, its just that when I bought it they shipped direct from Poland and they messed up on fleabay and had it in an auction instead of buy now. Price now in the UK nearer £700. The regret is using an untried bodyshop
  3. I know I need to be more insistant. Difficulty is the guy was recommended by a colleague of the missus. Granted it was not the garage personally but the guy they paid to fit it so in my eyes they still have ownership. I was considering going to Knight Racer originally but wanted somewhere more local to keep an eye on progress. There is a real shortage of specialist bodyshops in this area. I think I will hang out for the new wings, I'm sure they are just as keen to see the job done, its a shame because they are a good bunch but I couldn't recommend them now.
  4. Thanks for the advice, I am talking to them again tomorrow with a view to fitting new wings at their cost, kinda glad I kept the photos. Re the cloth either side, I was thinking this would resolve it but from what they tell me they have pinned it on the inside and fibre glassed over. If I don't get any satisfaction I will look elsewhere.
  5. No surprise there then, checked the car this morning and the crack is back! Checked with Mad Motors, now the UK distributor for JDL and the 2 wings will be £200. I knew the price had gone up but Jesus, the whole kit only cost me £380? I've attached a picture I took after fitting that shows where they cut the arch in the middle, its exactly this spot that goes everytime. Worse on the near side. They consulted the guy who fitted it and he claims that it was necessary to line up the front with the bumper and to site the side indicator. Did you have any problem with that? I spoke to a couple of guys at Supra pod and none of them had any problems. I really can't see any solution to this other than new wings. Thanks for reply
  6. Had the full JDL kit fitted, blended and full respray in April by a garage in the West Mids. The garage outsourced the fitting and for some reason they cut the front wheel arch extensions and filled the gap. To my mind this wasn't neccesary but by the time I saw it, it was too late. Respray wasn't great and was redone but I had to subsequently pay for what the garage said was a reaction in the fibreglass kit causing pits and blisters, the suppliers stated it was a spraying issue (piggy in the middle) Three times now a crack has appeared where the wheel arch extension was split. Up until now the garage has refilled and repainted but I'm getting cheesed off with having to constantly go back, and I can't see how any amount of flexible filler will solve this as it will always be a weak point in the fibreglass. My view is that the extension needs replacing but the cost of the JDL kit has escalated due to being supplied in the UK and not Poland as it was when I initially bought it, the garage will probably be prepared to fit and spray but they will expect me to buy the wings. I know you get what you pay for but tbh £2.7K isn't an insignificant amount and I don't see why I should be shelling out any more than I have. Anyone know of a way of reinforcing this to resolve the problem permanently, if its fibreglassed over the top of the original would this not solve it? Grateful for any advice so I know what I am talking about next time it cracks - and it will
  7. This could be a new game, post a pic of an engine bay and see who spots the fault, club credits to the first person to post the right answer:eyebrows:
  8. Steve, was this the same car at Llandow in October?, gutted for you mate, its sounds as if its in good hands though, hope it gets back to former glory
  9. Went local in the end, it was lined up to go to Knight Racer but the goal posts moved. Used a bodyshop in Bilston which came recommended. Tbh it wasn't the fault of the body shop, he outsourced to some guy to fit the kit, the blending and paint job I'm happy with and the guy has not quibbled once about me taking it back. The old addage about you get what you pay for is true, Tricks paint job is far superior but the cost difference was huge. Had the car 18 months now and tbh having done the track day and Supra Pod I'm yearning for a twin so best start saving.
  10. Linda, I've got Teins on mine, seem fine to me. During the service by CW he noticed one has a leak, seems to be a common problem as there seems to be a few threads on here lately, others like Jamie swear by them. Chris does have a bloke that can repair and reseal the shock, depends on the budget I guess
  11. Issues with the front wheel arch extensions, the prat that fitted them decided it would be a good idea to cut them in the middle to make them line up better, sooo - now after a period of time a crack appears where it was cut. This is there last chance to come up with a solution otherwise they will have to strip off the existing and fit new arches, bet you wish you never asked. Its been a huge disappointment though "nice car mate, shame about the cracks in the paperwork" argh!
  12. Gutted, this sounds like it was a good trip. Car is back in the bodyshop AGAIN! Working for the xmas meet too so thats probably me now until the New Year. Happy New Year:(
  13. Cheers Steve, disks arrived, was late for work this morning and still one disk to go! Viewed on Pete's site too and agree, pretty quick, thanks guys.

  16. Hi guys just got back on tinternet tonight after 3 weeks of changover of providers (opps make that this morning). Absolutely stunning weekend Steve, took a week to come down off the high, and some great pics, just a shame Alex didn't wash his car beforehand:p! Can't wait to see all the pics.
  17. We are going on the 16th, Wife's birthday treat, how lucky is she? If I see someone bald and proud I'll say hi, I'm also bald but more like hounded!
  18. I've been last 2 years, kids can definately go. Last year we needed an extra ticket last minute but were told it was sold out. Although it doesn't get you in the show itself if you buy a ticket to the Classic car show which is through in an adjacent lobby you can walk through into the MPH car display area. Glad we did it as the Veyron wasn't in the MPH display it was on the Buggatti stand in the classic show. Also some good US muscle on show in the classic area.
  19. What a muppet, can't count the days on a calendar:( Glad to say I'm back in (stood in front of mirror and gave self a bolloc**ing)
  20. Steve, Regret have to cancel my ticket, is there anyone on the reserve list looking for ticket?
  21. Just got my NA back from Chris Wilson after a service etc, he's your man no doubt.
  22. Spotted blue stock supra driving past the house in Kinver at midday today. Anyone here? Never seen any Supras in Kinver before now.
  23. welcome aye!, I spent two years in Medicine Hat, my sons in Banf at the moment, never saw a single Supe the whole time I was there aye.
  24. Just got home from spending 3 days in Silverstone with my lad (12). Conditions today were awful especially the sudden downpour with 30 minutes to go. Lewis was awesome and having watched him drive in the extreme wet he is very talented and seems to know his cars limits better than most, he was probably one of the slower cars in the storm conditions round the corners but his straight line speed was awesome. My lads best memory was a marshall passing him part of a carbon fibre splitter from Kubicas car during 3rd practise and spotting Kimi on the road out of Silverstone cadging a lift in a very nice Maserati, looked very embarrased at having been sussed. Great 3 days.
