  1. About a year ago I had my kit fitted, during the fitting the numpty cut the wheel arch extensions to move them about 3mm. Now I have similar hair line cracks which always reappear even after 3 attempts at repair. At least I have matching cracks on each front wing. It reaches a point and then stops. Considering going down the same route as Hoff and doing a fibreglass kit repair, nothing to lose now. Garage have offered to repaint it once its fixed. I know how you feel its really frustrating. The other solution I'm considering is a vinyl wrap on the wings. Raccoon vehicle wraps have stated that the wrap would cover the crack and add strength to the joint, this could work out cheaper. Hope you get it sorted.
  2. Was thinking of travelling to Santa Pod tomorrow for Easter Drag meet, anyone ever been to one of these, looks quite good on their events website. Depends on weather, I remember the last two years have been rain effected.

    My lads new toy

Didn't pay that though, and with the condition and the trafficstar wheels overall a fair deal.

Hideous is a little strong from an Audi 80 owner:rolleyes:, he is pleased though, better than a Corsa or Clio which most lads of his age drive around in.

Ah, yeah. He's just got back from Iraq so we don't see much of him hence he's not with us at meets, that and he's found girls and beer a distraction from cars in the past, all that ll now change I'm sure.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink! maybe in time he'll see the light, tbh I was glad he came away with this rather than the 76 Corvette Stingray he was drooling over. Nice car but a bugger to drive and not very practical. I'm laying bets he'll still beat us both at the pod. Did you see Sprint series through?

    My lads new toy

Agreed, the new shape is far nicer but there is a huge price differential. I would have got him to buy a supra but he's old school and into American Muscle and anyhow, on his budget he would have picked up a TT and that would not be acceptable - to me. Bad enough he'll still be quicker then me. It will be interesting to see what time it does.
  8. My lad got back from Basra on Sunday, he now reckons it was well worth it with his new toy, keep safe http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=182241

    My lads new toy

After a lot of internet searching went to Burton today to look at this for my lad http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C75774/ Absolutely mint, only one previous US owner, looks and drives like a dream. Wasn't sure what to expect given some of the handling comments I'de read. Unfortunately I had to test drive it as he is under 25 (condition of agency plate insurance). Comes with unmarked Trafficstar DTMs 20" deep rim wheels and Cobra R style carbon bonnet. He takes delivery next week, unfortunately he has to leave it with me for 4 weeks (bugger eh) He is looking to take down the pod at some point, hopefully Supra Pod, spec time is 13 Secs so I'll be lagging behind.

    American muscle

Didn't see this before posting "sons buying a pony". Anyone down souf know anything about Newport Imports in Maidstone? Ringing tomorrow to see if 2003 Mustang is still in stock.
  13. My lads just got back from Iraq and has money burning a hole in his pocket. He's been saving for a car, unfortunately he is not a huge fan of Supras. He's kind of retroman albeit he's 21 and is into American muscle. He's searched tinternet and was interested in a 79 Corvette but kinda impractical, he's based in Germany so needs something relatively reliable. He's found this 2003 Mustang and plans to go and see it tomorrow, I've made a list of do and dont's for him and stressed its a buyers market especially for big engined cars. Anyone have any advice for him, I don't know a great deal about Mustangs, He's checked and can get insurance, Oh to be young and well off. Year: 2003 Make: FORD Model: Mustang GT Coupe Drive: RWD Engine: 4.6L V8 Ext. Colour: Zinc Yellow Price: £7995 (on the road) Tax Beater: No Mileage: 40,000kms http://www.newport-imports.com/preveh.asp?make=FORD&sort=desc
  14. To be fair they already announced this, other teams will lkely follow suit as part of a cost cutting exercise to make F1 more affordable. Cut costs and attract new sponsors, Branson's never backed a wrong horse yet. Hamilton may have answered a few critics that said you could put any driver in last years McLaren and they would have won.
  15. Fitted the same kit last year, really pleased with it apart from the guy fitting it cut the front wheel arch extension for a better fit. I now have two very attractive cracks in the paint, keeps on recurring. Enquired about replacing just the whel arch extension but prices have shot up now its distributed in the UK. Question, I have just aquired a new undertray from the bonnet to the rad, did it take much alteration to the standard tray to get it to fit? Cars looking really nice by the way, my lad keeps on pestering me to get the GT wing.
  16. Do you still have the under tray, bonnet to radiator and front wheel arch liners?
  17. Saw it parked outside Sainsburys in Stourbridge. It has twin exhausts. Was going to stick a card on the windscreen but wondered if this was the type of styling we would welcome in the club. Trick, your a funny guy, lol.
  18. Looking for the front part of the front wheel arch liners and undertray from bumper to rad
  19. Coming down Hagley Rd by Ford garage, sounded very nice too, was a bit shocked actually how slow you were going, lol
  20. I saw it recently too, pink fluffy steering wheel, seen parked outside a hairdressers in Stourbridge, last time I saw it, it had a cream roof too.
  21. Vynl wraps are catching on, its predicted that they will in time take over from paint. I looked into a company called Raccoon here in the UK. Guys are really helpful and believe it or not the price for a complete wrap is less than a respray. The advantages are you can incorporate photo imaging etc. It won't be everyones cup of tea and I can hear all the doubters already. Raccoon have prepared many of the gumball cars. By all accounts, if you get fed up with it there is no long term effects on the paint once the wrap is removed.
  22. Phew, just ran out to check if the cars still there! Hope you get the car straightened out Kammy
  23. Missus badgered me into it, I'm sure the milkman was due. Anyway, roof came off and had a good blast to Bridnorth, on the way back left two bikes for dead on a roundabout, must have been dossin.
