hey guys, looking around at these front lip's everyone has, I'm all about oem but my other supra doesn't have active aero like my red one so I want to try something else this time http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Supra-mk4-Front-Bumper-Lip-WW-Wings-West-Style-for-Body-Kit-Racing-V6-/292224181605?fits=Model%3ASupra&epid=0&hash=item4409eb2565:g:QFcAAOSwd7BZnUt6 I'm all for these and I think they look awesome with a big fmic behind them, but I don't understand why some are 100 quid and some are double that, I'd assume there are crap batches and some higher quality batches? anyone got advice on which lip to buy and where from? plastic would be nice as fibreglass will just break up and smash

try selling one on facebook haha you should see all the meat heads commenting saying nah it's not a turbo it's not a real supra etc idiots that have never actually been in an n/a to experience them, they are not fast like a turbo but they are still good to drive and fun at that

I got it off in the end luckily I had been changing from front to rear sumps as my gte engine is from an aristo while the sump was off and the engine was upside down on the stand I took my opportunity to put a big block of wood along the bottom of the engine block to sump mating face, I used a 30" pry bar against it going through a hole on the starter ring gear and the other side locked aginst my engine stand then I used my power bar with 22mm socket and a big bit of pipe slipped over the end to crack the nut that faily locked the crankshaft solid enough I had to throw the ring gear in the bin now due to the slight bending of the plate but it worked out good for me in the end as I'm going to use a manual box anyway so don't need the starter ring gear

hey lads, I'm also in Aberdeen, I've always had bother getting these bolts off, my latest resort was to use an inch drive impact gun from my work with a step down to 1/2 drive 22mm impact socket, that fairly got it off but it required the engine to be out the car or the cooling and aircon radiators to be removed as the gun is absolutely massive, it's like a size 12 shoe I'm currently in the same situ, I had my engine on a pallet at my work and forgot to slacken the crank bolt before taking it home after it was delivered here, I've tried my snap on impact 1/2 inch gun (which I bought for jobs like this ) and it doesn't budge my bolt, I'm now going to take home my colleagues Makita impact 1/2 inch gun as I think it's got a stronger motor i'll report back with how I get on and maybe add some pics as it could be as simple as a battery gun can do it hopefully! the other thing I have going for me is the sump is off my engine just now so I could get 3 solid bits of wood against the crankshaft between the block and use that to lock the crank and have a big breaker bar against the bolt

quite a common thing I've noticed now on the various older Toyota's I've worked on, the rubber is just getting to that age now where it will perish and collapse now, recently I'd seen a heater matrix pipe split on a 1jz because the hose was just so old and weak, luckily was caught in time before boiling the engine. this turbo pipe you've had split also happened to one my mates with a mkiv supra, it must be the temperature difference taking it's toll on the older pipes

hi guys, after seeing Ashley hunter's supra on stock 17" wheels with 25mm spacers all round I've got a request could people still using stock rims please post pics of your car, I need convinced about how they look over 18's, I know that there are loads of nice wheels on the market but I'm really liking supra's on stock wheels with spacers

now up for sale, I'm definitely not leaving supra's though haha http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?344088-Mkiv-Supra-n-a-manual

PRICE REDUCTION NOW £6999 *** PM OR CONTACT 07939550861 *** Make:Toyota Model: Supra mkiv J spec mkiv import Year:1994 Facelift:no Mileage:140000 km's (some of that hasn't actually been done on the road, the mph speedo adapter was wired in wrong causing the clocks to count miles when the lights were turned on, all fixed now) MOT remaining: november 2017 expiry Service history:some paperwork from previous owner and myself Car's location:aberdeen scotland Modifications:a few, listed below So here goes, sorry this is a long ad! reluctantly selling my mkiv supra, I’ve loved every single minute of ownership from the first day right up until now! I’m forcing myself to do this as it’s the right thing with the potential chance to sell our house and buy our dream place, this has to go on the market! The car has gone through a huge amount of work in the last year. The parts department at the Toyota dealership know me by first name now because of the amount I’ve ordered from them, most of the work has been done in 2017 as I’ve refreshed alot of the car in the last 6 months Exterior there was a full exterior respray done in factory toyota red in January 2017 by a local bodyshop to freshen up the exterior, it looks fantastic in the sun and has had a generous coating of polish and wax after a full weekend detailing session. Wheel choice took me a while but I settled on some xxr 18 inch gunmetal grey rims, 18x8.5 and 18x10, they suit the car and the fitment is spot on, I bought new steel wheel nuts for them, the tyres are falken 452 up front and some 255/35/18 (forgot name) on the rear with a neat stretch to clear the wheel arches under compression. I’ve carried out the facelift style exterior light changes, the headlights were opened up by the bodyshop and dechromed/sprayed inside then resealed, the clear indicator/sidelights were bought new and also facelift bulb holder looms purchased from toyota, the rear hockey sticks for the back arches were also bought brand new from toyota to replace the spats, it has the factory side skirts and active aero spoiler on the front bumper, that still works with the motor switch on the dash however I’ve pulled the fuse out to keep it down as it looks best that way, it has thrown a warning light on the dash but that’s easily removed, a full set of brand new badges from toyota were bought also Interior Pretty straight forward really, all stock inside which is rare these days, I had put in a pioneer head unit/hands free and some alpine speakers (behind stock grills so you don’t see them) can’t tell they are in there, it has a fancy alarm system with two key fobs for the alarm and Imobiliser, the oem supra pure sport floor mats are there also but protected with other mats on top, it has the factory leather rear bench and cloth front seats as standard, with doing the manual conversion I’ve replaced the shifter plastic to a brand new toyota manual gear surround, there is also a brand new clutch pedal inside too Engine/Drivetrain Stock 2jzge auto non turbo all it’s life until 2017, The engine runs great, it could do with rocker cover gaskets if you’re picky, I’ve replaced the timing belt in july 2017 and the fan belt just before that, when I first got the car I done a full engine service with iridium spark plugs and filters, coolant and other fluids were also changed, I have carried out a manual conversion using the W58 5 speed toyota gearbox, it whines a little but I’ve heard all w58’s do, when the autobox was removed I’d put in a new toyota rear cranks seal, new spigot bearing, new exedy standard replica clutch, the car has a remote shifter which lines up perfectly with the factory location, however I’d cut away a part of the tunnel to let the box fit correctly, I’ve not changed the top part of the tunnel instead it’s sealed with waterproof sealing tape, it’s all covered up anyway so you don’t see it, the clutch cylinder and pedal assembly were bought brand new from toyota and were all assembled with grease, a new clutch pipe and rubber hose was made, the only ‘performance’ modification has been a 3” custom made stainless steel exhaust cat back system, I still have the cat on for mot regulations. This was done because I hated the way the factory backbox sat compared to how it looks now. Brakes: The brakes were all replaced, I bought new rear discs and pads from toyota around the end of 2016, the front brake pads were replaced at the same time, recently in the last few weeks I had been getting a squeel from the pads so I had brand new rear pads from toyota replaced under warranty and I’ve now got a set of delphi front brake pads also, so it’s had a new set of pads all round in august Remote central locking works, v5 paper here, two keys and alarm fobs, please remember it’s an old car so it may have the odd imprefection, since it’s daily driven I run the car on shell fuel, also for washing it’s given a PH neutral snow foam soaking first eachtime before washing with lamb wool mit and shampoo as I’m trying my hardest to prevent swirls from appearing on the immaculate paint Bad bits: -warning light on dash, assume this is due to manual swap or because i've pulled the fuse out to keep the active aero lip down all the time, either way it’s no big deal, -usual fuel tank cover is corroded but has been undersealed black -rear wheels have a little curb rash from parking -rear fog light removed as it was a bolt on job that sat under the bumper, it was removed at the bodyshop, the switch is there on the dash for it but I’ve not bothered getting another universal one and screwing it back on because they look terrible, was going to wait until the mot was due and then do it -air con needs regassed but I don't use aircon anyway As said above you don’t want to imagine how much has been spent on silly things, the badges or the rear arch trims or the simple things like indicator bulb holders all cost a fortune, toyota are by no means cheap for parts and this car has had no expense spared! i've spent so much time and money on this car that i'll never get back, the asking price is a fraction of that! I feel especially since there is a shortage of unmolested supra’s on the market that £8000 o.n.o asking price is reasonable, please feel free to drop me a message or call me for a chat about the car if you’re interested, I’m 10 minutes from the aberdeen airport and 10 from the train station went out for a photoshoot last night, it was right at the time of the sun setting so made it a little tricky to get the exposure settings correct 127 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 128 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 129 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 130 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 131 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 132 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 134 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 135 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 137 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 136 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr will get the interior pics uploaded later my favourite one of the evening 133 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr

can't access the photos due to photobucket third party rules

thanks, if I get the time I'd ideally like to do a write up on how to make the aristo loom work in a mkiv shell, where to add relays etc and how long to extend it etc

moved the sidelights down to the facelift indicators 117 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr parts collection growing for the aristo engine 118 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr that's a non vvt turbo ecu and loom for a mkiv which i'll be using as my reference point for looom length etc gte water pump (used for 100 miles) but turns out the aristo one is the same anyway! fmic pipework, viscous fan, walbro 255lph pump power steering pump from a mkiv, power steering bottle too 119 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 120 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr also still cleaning it pretty much weekly haha 121 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr sold the j3 autobox from the aristo engine so take one very clean non rusty 2jz block 123 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr and paint it to protect it! first coat on, note i'm not using the front sump so didn't bother me getting paint on it 124 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr second coat will go on in a weeks time, really going to let this coat harden fully before i put the second layer on began painting the originally silver parts on the engine, the mounts, oil drain, rear sump, starter motor, sump lower part going to be doing the alternator etc later unfortunately the guy who'd previously worked on these mounts has cross threaded the inside of one of them, the actual rubber mounting part not the block bracket, so i need to find another mount if i can't recut the threads straight 125 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr 126 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr don't currently have any pics of it but i've since removed the aristo loom from the engine on the stand, i've now got it lay out on the work bench and have it ontop of a supra loom, so i'm basically replicating the supra length and body loom pinouts aristo's are a little more confusing i'd say compared to the supra loom 122 by Jonny McIntosh, on Flickr
