That'd be a yes - Fed up with the Scooby I got last yr (drives ok, but lets face it, a Supra just looks SO much better), esp. as every time I see a Supra go past I go all funny & weak at the knees and wish I'd waited till the right Supra came along. A friend the other day asked me if I was feeling alright after I stopped mid-sentence so I could stare at the lovely mkIV going past.... lol So, the search has been re-ignited! This time I will get me a manual, 6-speed TT

Pictures Car even has mkIVsupra.net stickers in the rear windows (not that you can see that through the window tint in pix tho)! Would appreciate anything anyone can tell me Thanks!
-
Valid point! All I can tell you is that it's silver with Veilside side skirts, spats and front end and that it's completely de-badged. Sadly I don't have any pix yet.

Hi! Just wondering if anyone on here knows anything about the history of L379 NBV? Ideally it'll have been owned by someone on here, or someone will know who did own it? Anything that you can tell me would be most appreciated! Thanks!

Hmmm, Just tried these guys for a quote on a Subaru Impreza WRX (2L Turbo) Took me a week to get a price out of em and when they finally managed to come up with a quote it was over TWICE what anyone else wanted for it. From the sounds of the above, I'm glad I didn't get a better quote out of them, really not up for dealing with a crap company.

Good move, I just made the hideous mistake of getting an 04 plate WRX with the Prodrive performance pack. car has 63,000 miles on the clock and it's been nothing but a headache. When it's actually working, it's a nice drive, but I've had so many problems with it now that all I can think of every time I get behind the wheel is what's gonna go wrong this trip? First thing to cause me problems was the Turbo, or, every other trip in the car, lack of it as it would randomly work as and when. Took it to the Subaru dealer to have it fixed and ended up shelling out on a new waste gate, which seemed to solve the problem. 48 miles further down the road, engine warning lights started to randomly show, so back it went, this time for a new set of exhaust gas sensors. 8 miles down the road, the clutch went and back it went to the dealer, this time on an AA tow truck (AA recovery guy said he wouldn't touch a Subaru with a bargepole as he sees so many of them with problems that you just wouldn't expect for their age) Yesterday the turbo stopped working again (same fault as the first time round) and it's back to the dealer yet again tommoz for repair. So, I have to wonder what will be the next thing to fail....? So far, in just 2 months, the car has cost me over £2k in repair bills - time for it to go I think. Decided that I was stupid not to get a Supra when I was last looking for a car (it was what I wanted, but didn't happen) So, on the lookout once again

Time to sue the bastards, that's just crap!

I know and thanks for the offer. I just don't have the sort of money that you advertise your cars for tho, sadly all the ones I've looked at that you are selling are well out of my price range. Thanks anyway tho.
-
Well, that was the plan, but like you said, you'd advertised it on ebay, was waiting to see if it sold or not and also waiting to see what happened with the current car I was looking at. I'm so out of pocket now after the last one I looked at I can't now afford your one anyways, same goes for another one I was interested in looking at elsewhere. Time to cut my losses and run. In the time I've spent looking at soops, I've loast a grand in inspection charges, as well as other travel expenses and time of work to go and look and I can't afford (or take) any more of it. Both you and the other seller were to recieve messages to that effect, but I'm so down on the whole matter now I wanted to wait till tommoz when I might be in a slightly better frame of mind as it;s clearly not your fault and didn't want to take it out on anyone else. My edit to this post was written when I was still really annoyed and upset and I didn't want to repeat the same sort of thing to anyone else. To clarify, tho I've given up, I can't afford to spend any more money or time trying to get a supra and I can't take another let-down if another one goes this way. Sorry if you feel I've wasted your time, I want to be very clear in that it has never been my intention to do so.

forget it guys, see orig. post edit.

Ah, thought it had to be that! Was on Channel 4 a few years ago, dubbed in English - remember thinking it was odd for them to be showing a forklift safety video, but at the time, as someone who held a licence, I thought I'd watch for a laugh. Glad I did as it was soon apparent it was a spoof and a very good one at that! Shame it's not on the net anywhere in English, as the commentary is just as funny. there is a subtitled version out there somewhere tho!

Fear not, I'm on there every couple of days, hopefully something will turn up soon! Rich

The metallic blue one on your site I thought was rather nice, second only to the black one below, which now shows as sold. sadly tho it's out of my price range by a few grand
-
Yes, been looking on his site every few days, he does seem to have some rather nice cars on it, sadly tho, the ones I like the most all say 'SOLD'next to them! lol Still, Whifbitz site is bookmarked and I'll keep looking till i see something I like, then who knows? Only one I like on there atm is out of my price range sadly!

Hi Andrew, Yea, had a look at a few already, rejected them all too due to various problems, I'd much rather like you say, hold out for the right car Spose the only advantage there, is the supra fund is gradually increasing all the time I'm not buying one As for high spec, all the stuff on the list I indicated is only my 'ideal' I'd buy a car without any of the upgrades (as long as it's in good condition) as there's nothing to stop me adding to it later on after all! Cheers, Rich

******Forget it, having had nothing but a nightmare from ppl on here regarding buying a car, spending out money for inspections to take place on a car I was supposed to have first refusal on, only to be called at the 11th hour to be told that someone has offered more than the asking price, I've had enough. Just purchased a Subaru as I can't take any more of this, just had it with being messed about, each time to my expense, so sod it. Consequently, no more offers please***** Hi Guys, Before I go and get ripped off by some garage or dealer, anyone on here thinking about selling what I'm after? Been looking for a while now to try and source a MkIV Supra (ideally silver, grey or black) 6 speed manual, Twin Turbo in GOOD condition. I'm not really after anything that needs any serious degree of work doing to it, I'd like a car that's in good condition (body wise, interior and engine) Be nice if it had side skirts, spats, standard spoiler, upgraded exhaust (HKS Superdragger, Blitz Nur Spec, etc), HKS SSQV (or similar) BOV, decent alloys, however, these are not as important as the overall condition of the vehicle and I'll be happy to consider anything that has none of the above as these can always be added. Looking to spend up to about a max of £10k If anyone can help (or knows anyone who is selling something that fits the bill) please PM me on here, or reply to thread! Cheers, Rich ****Just to be clear, I'm ONLY interested in 6sp MANUAL cars, no autos, sorry**** *crosses fingers*

Sobering to realise what little sometimes seperates us from thes things, certainly made me wonder about my driving on one or 2 occasions... Just sat here and read the entire 15 pages of this thread and although I didn't know Rik, it's obvious from the posts that a lot of you did, obviously a guy with a lot of respect! Condolences to his family & friends, never nice to hear about something like this, regardless if you knew the person or not.

Oh, what a beauty! How I'd love to own one like that!

Hi! Just wondering if anyone can suggest a reputable company who will inspect a Supra and issue me with a report on it's condition, etc before purchase? I know the AA and RAC offer this service, but it's been suggested to me that in the case of the Supra, neither of these are really the guys to do it - more used to your everyday non-super cars. The car I need to have inspected is in the West Sussex area, so someone round there (or a company who cover this area) is what I'm looking for. Have tried the IVAC (Indepandant Vehicle Inspection Company) but all I get there is an answerphone and so far no callback and I really need to get things moving now! Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks!

Let's petition Top Gear to test the Supra on their track.

I think it'd be worth a try! -

Interesting, as I was thinking the exact same thing when having a conversation with a couple of mates a week or 2 back. We decided we woulde-mail them and see if we got a response - thought the best way to go about it was to pose a question such as: How does the Supra compare with todays modern supercars - is the supra still super? Might well still give it a go - maybe if they get several requests, it might just be something they'd do? Worth a try I'm sure... -
Soz to hear about ur cat, never good! Still, I'm sure he'll be fine! Fingers crossed We once had a cat with only 3 legs, got her from Battersea dogs home, so have no idea how she lost the leg. From the moment she came home it was clear she was no ordinary cat. A few weeks later we got a new puppy (the original reason we went to the dogs home) and as soon as we let the puppy out (which was about twice the size of the cat) she leapt at it, scratched it on the nose and made it clear who was boss. For the 9 years they lived together, the dog kept well away from the cat. Seriously tho, this cat was like greased lightning - I've never seen a cat move as fast as she could - and with only 3 legs! She was an ace hunter, always catching mice and the such - had you not seen with your own eyes that she had 3 legs, you'd never have believed it! A really remarkable cat. Sadly we had to have her put to sleep about 5 years ago as he kidneys failed. So, I'm sure that when u get ur cat home, it'll adapt in no time, they seem to have an amazing ability to just carry on! Fingers crossed it's all ok
