There'll be no time to make fun of me this year, we'll all be laughing too much at Jamesy trying to negotiate the roads with no suspension... Thanks Adam. And I'll try not to accidentally dilute your ethanol content. Thanks Mark, will do.
-
That's a bloody good point, thanks for the reminder. Knew there was something else I was supposed to do. lmao, Oh this could go on for hours.
-
Hell yeah, really starting to get excited now.
-
Thanks mate, you got to get in front of me first.
-
Cheers guys. Thanks Ibrar. Funnily enough were having the same issues lol, hopefully Lee can sort something and I'll let you know.
-
Thanks mate, looking forward to seeing them up and running. Cheers Luc. not planned yet, it will be after dragonball unfortunately. - - - Updated - - - Cheers Chris.

Thought I'd better update this as it's been a while. I've decided not to go down the active spoiler route as it's too much trouble with my current set up and there was other stuff which has taken priority. The car is almost ready to pick up from SRD and here is some of the stuff I've had done off the top of my head. Full service New clutch fluid New gearbox fluid New rear upper suspension arms New rear wheel bearings New steering gaiters New gearbox access cover New braided clutch line New alternator pulley New aux belt tension pulley All new Teflon fuel lines Fuel flex sensor Full geometry set up I'm sure there's more lol. They have also made another custom engine bay heat shield to cover the clutch master as I think I've been cooking the clutch fluid. They have extended the shield right across the back between the current engine bay boxes. Another custom modification to the front is a flip front number plate on the stock bumper. They have cut and welded the crash bar to accommodate the mechanism. Yet another custom modification to the front is these DRL/side lights. The indicators are being relocated into the headlight fog position. The front bumper has been smoothed and painted with the RMM lip also painted, all ready to get stone chipped on Dragonball! More pictures soon.

Stock Recaro speed out of a Honda Integra DC2 with Bride RO rails. These: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONA-INTEGRA-CIVIC-TYPE-R-DC2-EK9-BLACK-RECARO-SEATS-NO-RAILS-ITR-DB8-VTI-EK4-/231188488241?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35d3e86031

They look good mate, nice buy. Those Veilside seats look almost a comfy as Jamesy's Brides... that reminds me, wonder if he's got himself a bigger cushion for Dragonball this year.
-
No problem mate, it was a nice day and I was enjoying your company... in reality you wouldn't stop chatting crap and let me concentrate on where I was going!
-
The car looked great today mate, love them calipers. They've done a fantastic job with this, really cant be easy to match this paint.
-
Yeah figured they were busy, I've already called and Emailed. Hopefully I'll get a reply tomorrow, I just get impatient.
-
Oh it's like that is it. You really shouldn't upset someone with a wide stance and 888's... Looks like they are doing a great job, trying to get them to do something for me but they've not got back to me yet.
-
Well I've pulled the trigger on the R888's again as It's better the devil you know an all that. Thanks for the help guys. I totally agree having the same front and rear would be best but my fronts are BF Goodrich from the US and still have loads of meat on them so I've been reluctant to change them just yet. To be honest the tyre set up I have seems to work fine, other than 888's get a little unpredictable in the wet, not sure I want that on the front also. Once I've gone through these 888's I'll look into it again and maybe try and match front and rears with something different. I just wish there was more choice in my size.
-
That was one hairy drive lol, Jamie will tell you as he was on 888's as well. No traction control. To be honest it grips really well with the set up on the car as it is so I've never really felt the need for it. I've always found it hinders more than it helps but I suppose it might be an idea to have for wet conditions. Glad your enjoying the build thread. It's certainly had some work done since landing in the UK.
-
Yeah that was exactly my original thought. Makes perfect sense mate. I think at the end of the day I've got to weigh up if I'd rather the immense dry grip or sacrifice some of that for better wet grip.
-
Yeah I have seen the Nitto's but was trying to avoid buying from the US as I'm not sure how long they'll take to arrive and how much they'll end up costing. I will however look into it.
-
Okay so I'm about to purchase some new rear tyres and I'm having a hard time deciding what to do. I only have the choice of two due to the size, 315/35/17. 1. Toyo R888's 2. Vredestein ULTRAC SESSANTA Now I've always used the R888's as their very good for dry traction but are utterly useless in the cold/wet. I don't usually take the car out much in the wet but that's generally because the tyres are useless not because the car will melt. I've not used the Vred's before and have heard mostly good things about them but not from anybody running 800+ BHP. I'm not sure how much dry traction, if any I'll potentially be losing over the R888's or If they will be any better in the cold/wet. So, what would you do? or are there people running the Vred's that can give their opinion on them?
-
Not long now mate, good luck.
-
Well this isn't looking good. So who's actually going? 1. Steve.m (work pending and provided there is someone else going! Lol)
-
I'm hoping to make it to this one, it's been a while. Won't be in the Supra though unfortunately.
-
As James has mentioned above I'm running 315/35/17 and my only option is R888's or these Vreds which I've not heard much about either which is why I'm reluctant. These are the only road legal option I have in this size. Don't get me wrong the R888's give amazing grip in the dry but they will quite quickly kill you in the wet. Yeah It's not a bad range considering the amount of tread to start with. Maybe I'm not driving it hard enough! Okay that's good to know cheers. Might do a little more research on them
-
My R888's have lasted about 5000 miles and now need replacing so I'm in the same boat but unfortunately I have very limited choice with my size so it's either R888's or Vreds. I'd like to try something different but will most likely have to go 888's again as I just don't know what the Vreds will be like with my power and it's an expensive mistake to make. I would personally steer clear of the R888's if your a regular driver and go out in the wet as their crap for both these scenarios. They are however fantastic when dry and warm.
