The next step of my OCD cleaning mission was the engine bay, Luckily this wasn't too dirty to start with. - All shiny bits polished sealed. - All bodywork polished and waxed. - All hoses cleaned with back to black. - Clutch reservoir heat shield painted black. I didn't take any before pics as it really wasn't that dirty and no pics really do it any justice. I've also fitted some new PIAA headlight bulbs and LED sidelight bulbs. I've never been a big fan of the aftermarket HID kits so decided to purchase some high quality bulbs. Before After (I know the before pic is better but were looking at the headlights! )

Cheers Mark. Are we going to see your car on the road this year? Ca mon pull ya bloody finger out!
-
Cheers Josh, Mine could of taken me alot less time but I just get carried away. Thanks Simon.

Not to far away, I'm in Wimborne. I don't know many members in this neck of the woods, hopefully see you at some local meets.
-
Welcome. Your in the right place, there's a wealth of knowledge on here. Where in Dorset are you?
-
The wheels are now on and the car is back on the ground. This weather needs to clear up pretty sharpish now as I don't want to be doing this again in a hurry.
-
Thanks Nick. Looking forward to seeing that car of yours at shows sometime this year.
-
So basically it's going to look just like mine if you go for the CCW's. It is a great look even if I do say so myself. Either the LM20's or the Classics would look great.
-
Cheers Dunk. Rear wheel arches now done, decided to give the brakes a coat of paint to freshen them up. About as good as I could do for the Jspec brakes, their not that visible behind the wheels anyway. Before After

The car is looking great Adam. much better without the skirts and spats.
-
Thanks mate. Lol, I'll have to turn you down on that one, doing these dam near killed me. They were pretty good to start with, I just washed them down and used some back to black on certain areas. Cheers, I'll check that out. Thanks mate, need to try and knock you off the top spot at the show and shine comps.

Am I drunk already or has Rob been let loose with the camera again! Rob... try taking a picture without masturbating at the same time.
-
No, I think it's just the suspension arm your looking at maybe. I know It's a bloody pain. I keep thinking about getting them powder coated but that would mean making a decision on what colour to do them and I'm crap with making decisions like that.
-
Thanks Chris. Got home and had chicken so it's not looking good so far. What piping are you talking about? It's my business unit John, only problem with having the car there is when I'm supposed to be working I cant help but mess about with the car.
-
Cheers guys. I know I'm mad spending so long but I have a serious OCD issue when cleaning, I just get carried away. Rear wheels now done, That was hard work! I was about to put the wheels back on and thought that the wheel arches could do with a quick clean... I got carried away again! Front wheel arches done, rears tomorrow. Before After

I'm not looking to sell it at the moment, I'm going to wait to see how the new one comes out. If I do decide to sell you are second in line. That sounds like it could work but I think it would be a bit too much red for my liking.
-
Thanks mate. Used Meguires metal polish, various machine polishing tools and finished off with poor boys wheel sealant. The front wheels were the worst, they took about four hours each.
-
The black would be 202, same as the car. The red I'm not sure about, maybe the same as some of the other red in the bay. I'm not even sure about the red, Might be better all black.

Started to give the wheels a spring clean yesterday. The U.k weather really Isn't kind to polished wheels, they need constant attention to keep them at their best. I keep contemplating getting them powder coated as I do get fed up with trying to keep on top of them, but they look so good as they are. Both fronts done, just got the rears to do. A few before and after pics for you. Before After

Okay, so the engine covers have arrived and been fitted. Would someone be so kind as to give the photoshop a go with any of these new pictures. My options so far are: - Black - Black with red writing - Polished - Polished with black writing I'm not sure you can photoshop it polished, think I'll just need to use my imagination for that one.
-
Thanks for the offer mate, what's the charge? I do keep contemplating one of your bonnets but I'm not sure I want to part with mine as it unique.
-
Thanks for your input guys, I do like the carbon one but fancy trying something different. I wont sell it just in case. Not sure polished would go very well as the cam covers are chromed, might be a bit to much. I'll wait until they arrive, fit them and ask kindly for some more photoshop options.
-
You can have a got if you like. I'm going to wait until they arrive, fit them and ask again. Will be easier with them fitted.
-
Quick photoshop courtesy of Mike2JZ, Thanks mate. Could be on to a winner. I will try and get someone to do a photoshop with the engine covers fitted when they arrive, before making a decision.

Thanks Mike, that gives me a good idea of how It might look. Great effort considering the pics I gave you and being 2am. Thanks. The kit was originally on the car when it came over from Japan so unfortunately I can't give you any idea of what this kit might cost new, also some parts of the kit was custom made. Yeah I'll do that when they arrive, just thought I'd test some peoples photoshop skills. Cheers Dunk.
