  1. Well I am back So took the car for a spin , small hesitation on transition to 2nd turbo ,similar to fuel cut for a sec then she goes up the rpm; on the back roads so did not really have time to give her the beans, dropped her off with Pat for the day Started about 6 times since yesterday and now, also drove fine yesterday evening for Pat Collected her this morning , when to start her, click, nothing, click again nothing ; turned the Alarm on/off she fired up Off I went heading for home, 50 KM away, did a WOT , small hesitation on 2nd turbo like fuel cut then she goes up the rpm, a few KM later , no issues, another few KM later, no issues, I did about 2-3 WOT's at this stage Went into the petrol station for petrol , filled her up, started her, then the idle started hunting 1500-2K rpm then back , pulled out of the garage , she would accelerate by herself to 2.5k rpm then stop and drop back to 1.5K rpm, then go again; got a bit dangerous slowing down as the car would want to run away Pulled in and reset the battery hoping it would curtail the rpm hunting , and get me home , no luck On the motorway, all good as she was about 2K, when to give her a wot in 4th gear, got a little past 3K rpm , violent cut like fuel cut, MIL (middle ! light on the speedo) flashed on/off 2-3 times, I eased back off, to a cruise to get her home, near home I tried again and she went fine , I could not replicate the MIL light scenario, at the traffic lights she idled normally A few meters later , I did a WOT , worked fine but went back to rpm hunting , coming up to a stop at the traffic lights, 1.5-2k , got home and parked her up , rpm hunting , 1.5-2K; then stopped idled at 700rpm, turned her on/off rpm hunting , 1.5-2K Also she smells a bit rich, ECU has no error codes, I dont think I drove it long enough to record another one What do you guys think? Video for ref after I parked her up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZC6EgMNpXs
  2. Chris just my stupidity , she should be fine now Thanks for all the help, you'll make a mechanic out of me yet
  3. It was a loose, crimped wire, she ran fine today; I was in the passenger seat the other day, so pressing on the ECU plastic cover must of interfered with the map wire, they are all tucked away nicely under there now so hopefully no issues IACV , I really dont want to be pulling things apart if it is not causing an issue , I unplugged it and it made no odds
  4. Thanks for the links and torques It was the new cam that turned even though the bolt was tight , it was just not tight enough
  5. Cool, never heard of it before myself ; my friend with his Mk3 Supra has them tacked in place
  6. I was told it is common on the Supra and chaser for the camber bolt to slip out of its setting, its advisable to put a tack weld on it?
  7. She stopped dropping to 300 or hunting , I would not expect it from the ECU reset, she is idling at 700 rpm now , I am just resetting the ECU to clear the 31 code to see if I can trigger it again Its a tricky one to figure out exactly what it is, will try see if I can find the guide, Thanks Ian
  8. She seems ok now , still a little rich but maybe due to the ecu reset Small hesitation in turbo 2 transition , she might just need a good run Looks like it was a wiring issue , must of been me in the passenger seat pressing on the ecu cover, maybe it was snagged on a wire
  9. I am thinking a doggy connection myself, that I may of fixed unaware Was also thinking of testing the coolant temp sensor , seems to be a common thing to check too , as well as the map sensor Mellonman- this is what confuses me, nothing was touched to warrant these issues , just put on new billet aux wheels and crank pulley, new belt ; car was running fantastic prior to the crank pulley giving up
  10. Thanks , maybe I just don't comprehend but I would is taught my voltage should be around 2.6 mark at idle I really cannot not think of what else would cause her to over fuel
  11. Thanks Chris This is really turning into a pickle
  12. Ignore the low voyage at the start was trying to position the earth correctly, this is her revving http://youtu.be/-ab-x0R_FyI
  13. It's 1.35v being sent by the sensor to the loom Ecu is feed pin 62 is showing 1.35v too
  14. Sorry my mistake with getting the voltage at the map sensor, really don't want to splice the loom wire
  15. It was the signal wire I tested Pin 62 turbo pressure sensor , black yellow wire Voltage was 1.64 for a few seconds, then fluctuates a lot around 0.3,0,35 then to zero, might spike to 1.64/1.63 , engine on idle Car is overfueling now in idle, stopped rpm hunting
  16. At the sensor I am getting 0 volts, cannot get any reading Took off the sensor , looks good , Sputnik, no blockages , all vacuum lines are new , on a few weeks, she was working fine post fitting the new lines Put sensor back on , still 0 volts, reset ecu plugged loom back into the sensor , engine on, car idles more stable after the ecu is reset for a min or two, rechecked voltage at ecu on the stable idle, got 1.44v consistently but still 0 volts at the sensor Fcd is incorporated into the modded ecu via a rom chip No vacuum guage unfortunately
  17. Car has gone from the hunting rpm to idling at 300 rpm, trying to cut out
  18. From my understanding she should read between 3.3 to 3.5 volts on idle , I triple checked for vacuum leaked around the intake , none Anybody any more ideas? Or time to get out the wallet for a new sensor
  19. So tested the map sensor connector again , 5v, key on engine off Now to the ecu, key on engine on, car idling Pin 62 turbo pressure sensor , black yellow wire Voltage was 1.64 for a few seconds, then fluctuates a lot around 0.3,0,35 then to zero, might spike to 1.64/1.63 What do you guys think
  20. Thanks I had a check yesterday, everything looks good; all the Vacuum lines are new gates racing but on there a few weeks , she was running fine prior will run through it again today and check the ECU Voltage for piece of mind Only thing I can think of is the intake intercooler pipe was removed, checked it again yesterday and it is on secure
  21. Thanks Chris , might be able to get my hands on a sensor too They are 285 euro off Toyota
  22. Would I be right in saying a 1jzgte from a MK3 Supra will work, same map sensor?
  23. thanks Chris The condition I tested the 5V under was the VCC and E2 terminals on the Map sensor Plug on the ECU loom with key on / engine off (I read there should be 4.5-5.5v) At normal atmospheric pressure it is supposed to be 3.3-3.9V. The voltage drop from normal atmospheric pressure when you apply a vacuum is supposed to be: 13.3 kPa 0.3-0.5 V 26.7 kPa 0.7-0.9 V 40 kPa 1.1-1.3 V 53.5 kPa 1.5-1.7 V 66.7 kPa 1.9-2.1 V I think the Test I need to do is key on / engine idling, measure the Voltage at ECU ; if it is working expect a low Voltage ?
