  1. I run a third AN line to the Airbox or you could run it to the Sump, but a smell of fuel? Is she running rich? Oil contamination ?
  2. Just to get more info on the Link , I was looking at the Fury as it has a build in Wideband ; anybody have it installed ? PNP unit is fairly basic Traction control for the Supra I presume you would need a digital Abs Sensor? Can you update the firmware yourself?
  3. The Irish Agent here has mapped it , I would hope he has done that !
  4. It is running the latest firmware I dont have a clue about the base map Be interesting what the lastest issue is , Simon thinks its got to do with getting his Aircon re-gassed http://forums.linkecu.com/index.php?/topic/5794-r33-gtst-idle-hunting-since-ac-regas/
  5. Thanks Guys , problem is I dont trust the ability of the mapper here based on my friends Skyline , it is a Stock GTST with Cats , the only exotic item on it is the HKS exhaust The car has not run right since the new ECU , broke down 2-3 times now due to the ECU, he is back and forth to the place at least once a month Excuses was the alarm to the fuse in the radio to the fuel relay and now it is erratic on Idle, hunting It has a modern ECU with wide band controller , 2500 worth I would love to go the UK but if I take time off work I will loose a fortune , be great if I could get a base map and have it remotely mapped!
  6. Thank you Sir! I will see what he says
  7. Top of the mornin I just wanted to ask a few Q's before I take the plunge You have multiple manufactures of ECU's on the market for the Supra , my friend has a Skyline R33 GTST , he has had an aftermarket ECU installed but he is having issues with Idle, it has Cats and the Wideband add on controller My understanding Open Loop -- Engine runs based on the calibrated ECU table, normally used under partial/high load Closed Loop -- O2 Sensor Based Control, normally used in low load situations (i.e. Idle) as the sensor could be too slow to react under high load, resulting in engine damage Questions Can you have a hybrid situation Open/Closed loop working in tandem under low/partial/high load? In general would you expect Idle problems , niggles from an after market ECU installation? My Friend with the Skyline is constantly going back and forth to the mapper with issues like the one above. Maybe Skylines are just more temperamental or is it the mapper? OEM's spend $$$ calibrating an ECU , is it possible to obtain a calibration that feels like your average car, I.e car will idle correctly, it is not a lottery everytime you turn the key
  8. Good shout , thanks Chris! Was going to email you too Chris , if you would be interested in installing an ECU and getting Fraser AKA Frank LOL to map it , or if you have any other taughts Looking on the map, I think you are the closest to Dublin out of everybody plus I know you will do a neat job
  9. Thanks , was going to Ask Mark just dont want to be bothering him; phoned the agent here and I was not sure who I was talking to but he was all over the place , didnt know prices , just model names but didnt really understand the features , was just spouting lamda AFR ratios at me
  10. Their website does not highlight it , with the exception of the Thunder and Fury models Maybe I am missing something?
  11. For the price I dont see any Engine protection strategies
  12. Can you get a PNP unit for the Supra, Thunder or Fury? All I see is this but what model it is I dont know http://www.linkecu.com/TS2JZPlus
  13. Chris one of the guys was talking to Fraser MacKellar at Autosport ; he said he is not mapping the Motec M series yet?
  14. It has a ROM in there yes , not too sure if the ignition is different , boost cut is raised and speed limit too ; I look upon it as a fancy FCD - - - Updated - - - My car is a 93 LOL I am not too sure but I would rather go the UK at those prices
  15. Just off the phone with the Irish HKS power writer , I was a little surprised with their input based no my cars basic Spec Using a HKS IS Vfcon Piggy back ; the ECU will eventually be overwritten by the standard ECU , she will over fuel like crazy , I will need to run full Open Loop (disconnect the Narrow band sensor) hence the over fueling. Standalone Fcon VPro Gold , the wideband sensor is as expensive as a link ECU they said , 800 GBP ; I asked if they can use a Bosch they said no They are pushing me to get a Link standalone ECU , coincidentally they are the Irish Link Agents too Sounds a bit Irish to me to be honest! Any taughts?
  16. Brand:Tomei Poncams Duration: 264 Lift: 9.5 SPEC: BPU Stock ECU with Sard Analyse ROM In short the Cams are fantastic , the head feels alive and she can really breath. BPU is quick but the brute force of acceleration with the cams is nearly on par running 0.8 bar and 1.2 bar , the comparison to OEM cams (248 Duration) is night and day as you would expect. Cams most definitely do not give more power throughout the rev range but what we are altering is the delivery of whats available; Cams can, and will move the torque curve around. The big question is and a reservation I had , would I move the power band so high up the rev range I would in turn sacrifice Low end grunt. Thankfully the answer to this is No , I do not notice a difference over OEM cams down low; if you where to get very critical you could argue it may of shaved about 200 rpm off down low, but it is inconsequential and frivolous. 3200-3500 rpm you start to notice the cams coming online ; you really notice the 4500+. Unlike the OEM cams she does not run out of steam up the rev line , Tomei marketing statement is accurate "Excellent pick up from lower rpm, and even greater results at maximum rpm" The caveat, Cold starts or when the ECU is in closed loop; The ECU thinks there is a Vacuum leak and she wants to play it safe, run rich! She does not run rich enough to cause Oil contamination but none the less it is a PITA; She needs fuel pulled till ECU goes to Open loop, once Open loop triggers (approx 30 degrees temp) she runs fine. You could live with the Cold idle and be the Cold start ECU Strategy with your right foot till she gets up to temperature but its too much a of a PITA when there is a simple solution in the form of a piggy back ECU; or you could go all Macgyver, I was even contemplating a resistor and switch toggle to the TPS to get her idling on closed loop then once she goes to open loop , toggle the switch off Currently looking at options, I am leaning towards a piggy back HKS IS FCON
  17. Car: Toyota Supra JZA80 (Zenki - 5/93-7/94) Eng: 2JZ-GTE MTM 6 Speed SPEC: BPU ++ Mileage: 300 KM (To Date) Brand: OS GIKEN Product: SuperLock LSD (1.5 Way) Part Num: TY033-HA (9 Inch) First impressions are excellent, OEM like characteristics, no chattering , quiet , low maintenance , no break in required. Driving her she is smooth and engaging, when you need to go she hooks up and Locks to propel you along , not a violent lurch but in comparison to the Carbonetic or even the OEM Torsen , you can feel her bite instantly to give you maximum traction and acceleration; similar to a clutch engaging. It is difficult to put into words, I can draw a comparison to a Dual clutch Gearbox, the differential has the correct gear pre-selected ready to go ; she is ready to instantly transfer that hp into Torque for effective traction. I have not pushed her hard , I need to bed in the Clutch but based on my limited dry road use she feels like a serious piece of kit ; puts down the power very effective and efficiently. Slow speed maneuvers, reversing nothing to report, all normal as you would expect from a road car. If I was to sum it up , it is all the benefits of what you want from a race LSD but with the manners of an OEM Torsen unit. I have yet to drive her in the wet or on a tight twisty road I would highly recommend it based on my limited time in the seat. Some more info from OSGiken if anybody needs it http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?328829-OsGiken-Spec-x&highlight=osgiken
  18. Looks a bit odd alright , Tial do Vband Stainless Steel housing so in theory you could make any Turbo Vband fitment ; Owen Developments use it alot
  19. Hi Greg Received the paypal but you told Paypal to charge me the fee for the transaction , I am already paying half the shipping If you can pay the paypal fee please £3 thanks
  20. Car: Toyota Supra JZA80 (Zenki - 5/93-7/94) Eng: 2JZ-GTE MTM 6 Speed SPEC: BPU ++ Mileage: 300 KM (To Date) Clutch: Brand: OS GIKEN Product: Street Master Clutch Kit - Twin-Metal Hard Part Num: GT2CD Rated to Approx 575 ft-lb I have not broken the Clutch in Fully yet, can keep this thread updated if anybody has any Q's.Installation, she installs and uses all OEM components( i.e. OEM slave cylinder) unlike the carbonectic ; first impressions on startup is noise, it is none existent on Idle , cruising and WOT . The Pedal has a really nice feel, sprung enough to allow easy modulation (Slippage) but light enough to not impede driveability , if I was to put a number versus stock 10% heavier pedal. The biting point would be on par with OEM but as she needs to bed , the very odd time at slow speeds she can be grabby; from reading up on these clutches , it will disappear after break in is complete. To date I would highly recommend this clutch , car is a pleasure to drive and in comparison to an OEM clutch the feel on the pedal with this clutch in my opinion results in a nicer drive.
  21. Ah Ok, they are like hens teeth; the 62R is the holy grail of HKS series Might be worth looking into the fitment, I think it might be a VBand setup , HKS and 6Boost as far as I am aware only make manifolds with a VBand fitment for the 2JZ but I am sure a member on here with one can clarify
  22. Damien where did you get a T51R! I would like to get one just for the noise, glorious!
  23. Sorry , What I mean is why get rid of the intake feed pipe and use a filter instead? I was thinking if it was something adding to the headache you saw in the other thread with the 264 cams and Idle
