  1. Thanks , I think we are talking 5K range , Is what I expected; just the possibility of a 3K loading is throwing me , how can your budget have 62% contingency, based on experience you should have a narrower scope for contingency He also stated it took him 7 months to do a customers car and the owner was getting irate after 3 months ; I do not blame the owner , 7 months to paint the car is ridiculous; he noted it would take 3 months to do mine but did he say this to the owner of the SL
  2. Was thinking that too Jim,, and probably better off getting it done with the engine out ; considering I am supplying the trim too ; 62% of the initial budget for contingency; is quiet the threshold Was taking to Ian, you would get your car stripped and dipped in the UK for that and by Dalton himself, plus a customer of his got his TVR re-done by TVR for 3500 gbp in chameleon TVR colour Difficult to get a painter with a Customer portfolio you can attest their work off, 5K I taught is a very decent budget with 1200 for materials , 2800 is a good $$$ for labour
  3. Hey Was looking at a full respray with me supplying the trim / seal , rear quarter windows She has the usual micro blisters in the hips , frp trd kit I know Simon (is his name, near SRD I think) did a few members cars, anybody have a rough budget I got a quote here of 5k with a contingency to 8k , with me supplying trim and paying a guy to fit/remove windows as an additional expense , you are talking 10k region (euro) Quick q on the side skirts , they are pop rivets , I presume they will clip off after drilling out the rivets or are items bonded from factory , I cannot see any bonding material
  4. Thanks! I was advised on a Sytec , I was looking at the Fuel lab and the Bosch unit
  5. Might be a good sticky on frp feedback Question for members running a braided line , replacing the fuel pulsation damper I read majority of aftermarket fpr have a fuel pulsation damper built in I have a Sytec (FSE) frp , after I installed a braided line , I notice gurgling and ticking to the point it is an annoyance, I don't believe it is something you have to just put up with Wondering if other members have experienced this? What FRP you are running ? Good to get feedback on and if the have a fuel pulsation damper built in AEM Fuel Lab Bosch Motorsport Sytec
  6. Looks like a nice example , I wonder are matching numbers cars holding their value over a Supra with a single conversion ? Wonder what my TRD3000GT would go for now , great to see the cars retaining a reasonable value
  7. Trading insurance companies in Ireland, Maltese Setanta Insurance group , Gibraltar-based Enterprise Insurance collapsed , the industry had to take up the slack, passed on the collapse to its customers Even though 2% of the 5% Insurance Premium Tax already added to all Motor/House Policies goes towards the Insurer Compensation Fund...Insurers have been contributing into this fund for a long number of years, this was setup for situations like this Enterprise Insurance was participating in the Irish Market under EU passporting regulations via Wrightway Underwriting a Managed General Agent based in Wexford who in turn re-distributed to Brokerages nationally...the Irish Central Bank were dependent upon the scrutiny of the Regulatory Authorities where Enterprise was actually based similar to the Maltese in respect of Setanta...yet again, this does not appear to have been ideal! The House always wins!
  8. Heres the Munro racing CT12A High Flow with ported manifolds: 453hp @1.35 1JZGTE Mk3 Supra 95 Octane Fuel HKS 264 Cams Doesnt have the Billet wheels , they are only a new development
  9. I installed the rollcage in my mx5 and could retain the use of the roof with all oem hardware
  10. Mine is up next month so hopefully won't be bad , trade insurance seems to be the only way to go unless you can get classic I did ask axa , if I had to re-insure the Supra with them , will my previous 5 years I had the car insured with them make a difference They said no , take the risk if they will insure it again To top it off I had to retain my policy with them to keep my no claims bonus as classic policy it is not required I would of lost my 10years + NCB after 2 years, I am paying insurance on a second car just to stay in the system
  11. MX5 , had one , great fun , parts easy to get and cheap, very quick if you bolt on a Super charger Lotus Elise is great with a Honda transplant
  12. Autoline in Newry , nobody down south will , I joined Vintage car club to use their club insurance scheme with FBD but FBD said no to Japanese cars , bit Irish if you ask me , anybody else the Supra is deemed too high performance Makes me laugh the American Muscle cars are covered! 8 Litre Hemi is not exactly mundane
  13. I was quoted 850 in october 2015 with Axa fully comp but I doubt you will get anywhere near it now They also quoted me 900 euro on a 1.3 2008 standard Golf at the same time, go figure that one out ; I ended up putting the Supra on Classic and got Axa to continue my policy with the Golf instead @ 450 euro fully comp I am not looking forward to my renewal , my Friends Skyline with Liberity went from €980 fully comp to €5601 fully comp Insurance companies down south have lost it! There are alot of SIMI members lobbying the Government, it is across the board ; Insurance Companies flat out refuse to insure anything 10 years or older , you are caught in Limbo , its not old enough to fall under classic Trade Policy may be the only option, Happy Hunting!
  14. I remember one of the members was closely affiliated with Tada , taught it was Gaz
  15. Do you have some insider knowledge ? Work for Toyota?
  16. Your car is not old enough for Classic , I was with Axa last year and was quoted this year

  18. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?522377-FAQ-VVTi-2JZGTE-Facts-differences-and-conversion-information Aristo Engine differences: The VVTi 2jzgte engine also came in the Aristo (1998-2002), If you are swapping this engine into a supra you will need to do the following: - Aristo power steering pump has a solenoid valve which the supra doesn't, mainly this effects the power steering lines as the bolt configuration is different, you will need a supra one -The water pump is the same on the VVTi and is not hydro – it will not need to be changed -The aristo has a front mounted sump, you will need to change to a supra mid mounted sump layout. -Engine loom will need to be modified or swapped for a supra unit -Engine Mounts and brackets will need to be swapped -Brake booster bung (Goes to top of intake manifold) -o2 sensor loom plug will need to be swapped -Water temp sender (Not sensor) will need to be purchased and installed -Oil level sensor plug may need to be purchased -Heater hoses from engine will need to purchased as the aristo ones are different -Oil dip stick bracket is different -Oil return lines from turbos are different -Fuse box will need custom wiring, some differences: ETSC (TRAC Control) fuse is 15amp, I setup the wiring for FAN (Don’t have them though), EFI1 and EF2 relays and fuses were setup as NA only uses one EFI relay, TEL Fuse Wiring,
  19. I see dead people but what are you going to do!
  20. You would need to ask Dave , if he has any Supra versions there , I can't see them costing 1.5k sterling extra Off the top of my head , you need to put on a supra oil pan, mounts, power steering pump and loom to put in a supra but I cannot see it costing 1.5k extra Drift guys are probably their main customer base, Aristo Engines more readily available , Supra fitment is not a requirement for those guys Its worth checking versus your contact
  21. They are in a warehouse in Wicklow , Ireland , you are making alot of assumptions there https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xaf1/t31.0-8/13680408_1459969074028888_4596127842062745697_o.jpg
