  1. Eibach Pro Sport Kit is a progressive spring 370->510 front and 180->263 Rear Meisterr Zeta-R Coilovers (GT1 may be different) 784 front and 448 Rear OEM is 430 Front to 219 Rear Taking out all other variables the Eibach should provide a softer ride and roll control but considering they are progressive springs , Progressive rate springs generally have less total deflection compared to a linear rate spring of the same free length. This is because the closely wound coils needed to create the dual rates take up deflection space. For grand touring and high-performance driving, progressive rate springs offer great ride quality and superior handling due to the roll control offered by the springs. This is especially true if a reduced ride height is desired. The initial light rate provides a great ride, while the increased secondary rate assures a load carrying capability unavailable if lowering with a linear rate spring is attempted. Most high-performance driving involves a fixed vehicle package with only one or two passengers and very limited extra weight. This is the ideal situation for progressive rate springs. Based on this my conclusion is , Did you have your car lowered with the Eibach's resulting in having a ride height well beyond the rate transition range and the vehicle therefore will ride very harshly ?
  2. How many 911 Terrorists where Saudi , 15 of the 19 you say , they are banned right ? Yeah about that....
  3. Maybe somebody more knowledgeable can explain why , only variables I can see is the actual shock oil , valving used
  4. I am not a fan by any means of Trump but he cannot have a coffee without the media generating sensational headlines ; The thing is, a lot of whats been said about Hillary is actually true. She has benefitted enormously on a personal financial level from politics. The Clinton Foundation is shady, she has received tens of millions of dollars in donations from Goldman Ballsachs etc She represents the establishment and the entire academic, never worked an honest days work in their life intelligensia and mainstream media was behind her. If you research it, you will find that just as many lies were spread about Trump. But just as with Brexit, to unquestioningly swallow what our biased media says about the core issues in this election and to think this was an anti-Hillary vote is to completely miss the point. This vote is entirely about the multi-decade undermining of the middle classes in America by the establishment through globalisation. America was once the bastion of Global improvement in peoples standards of living. Generation upon generation built on what came before until about the 70's. They worked hard and respected honest success and didn't begrudge a wealthy person their riches, but actually aspired to be like them. But then Free Trade started to occur and the rich who already had more money than they could ever spend discovered they get could get even more and become obnoxiously rich beyond imagining by firing American workers and "outsourcing" jobs to slave factories in countries with no respect for labour laws or human rights. This lead to a multi decade stagnation and even decline in inflation adjusted median incomes, a downskilling of the US workforce and a loss of status for jobs that once upon a time could give you a reasonable expectation of having a decent life. Inequality has risen dramtically by any measure, with the super wealthy gaining even more influence in Washington. At the same time, banking regulation got lax and lending compensated for the reduction in consumption as the US Consumer and Government started ramping up the borrowing. Ironically, the Government borrowing most from the Chinese who free trade gave them dollars to become the creditor. This has been going on for decades until the manufacturing heartland of America is decimated. These are people with absolutely nothing to lose at this point, and immigration etc is not really a concern for them. Globalisation has been spectacularly bad for US Society as a whole, and this was the anger that Trump tapped into. He is the first poltician I have ever heard who openly discussed these things and laid it out in a frank and understandable manner. He even shamelessly admitted to doing these things himself. Now whether he can fix it is another matter; but most people who have been affected by this don't care. He has acknowledged what they know to be true, and Hillary just represents the establishment that has them there in the first place, that comes around every four years with platitudes and goes away and does nothing. She is backed by the Banks, by hedge fund managers that buy $44m pads in the Hamptons and demolish them to create even greater obscenities while pretending to be left wing. Trump is wealthy but he doesn't pretend to be something else. Trump does not act presidential or portrait the image of a president but he looks like the first politician to at least act on his promises for good or worse , we are hearing terms 'impeached ' daily in the media , stinks of the "Establishment" trying to discredit him ,Trump is a 2 finger finger salute to the "Establishment" Incidentally, given that we have had 8 years of a democrat in power, this has to be seen as an indictment of Obamas term in office too. I saw some of the numbers and Trump did better among Blacks and Hispanics and also religious conservatives than Romney, a god-fearing, non drinking or smoking anti abortionist did. That tells you something. Am I scared he his ego will pull the trigger on something sinister , yes ; am I intrigued how an ANTI - Establishment president will perform , Yes , Do I think Trump who ANTI - Establishment agenda is apocryphal, of course but by god it is exciting !
  5. Only ones they look good are eibach and oe , Nitrons are stiffer at the front than trd and not far off at the rear but some are in 1000 ftlb :o
  6. I was looking at the Spring rate register on here last night , range in stiffness is mind blowing ; mine did not seem to be extreme in comparison but I did notice a trend the fronts on majority are near double OE The Eibachs are just in a section on their own , was interested in CW's progressive rates to compare Helper Springs : if anybody is interested in a bit of nerdness https://eibach.com/de/en/motorsport/products/eibach-helper-system Contrary to the Tender Spring which usually has a full effect on the road behaviour, the Helper Spring’s only use is to fix the Main Spring in the spring seat when the wheel is completely released. Thus the Helper Spring prevents the loosing of the spring when the wheel gets released. The installation of the Helper Spring has no effect on the suspension characteristics of the vehicle. By using of the Helper Spring, spring-to-perch gaps of up to 50 mm can be covered.
  7. They are even stiffer than mine! Must be a rock on the road Readng on here I think 600 lbs ins fronts and 320 lbs ins rear are better suited to a road car, not too sure if a Helper Spring would be a way around of trying to mimic a Progressive spring at a cheaper cost
  8. For about a year, I went from a 3.266:1 to a 3.769:1 (91-97 Aristo 3.0V (2JZ-GTE model, auto)) Found it fantastic , in the real world 100KM is generally the limit you can max out on a public road , the quicker acceleration was great! I could not list any negatives for my power level , just positives Going up the power band the strength of the Big case diff would be beneficial
  9. With your Ferrero Rocher , you are really spoiling us
  10. Fair Summary? Nitrons have No dust boots Use spherical bearings rather than rubber mounts so you will encounter more road noise but positives of less compliance most people service every 3-5 years (Road car) Higher Cost Single rate Springs Reduced internal friction 2-Way combined damping adjustment high-grade materials protect against corrosion whilst reducing weight CW Setup built for longevity with no rebuilding Progressive rate springs (better ride and can give better traction) Valving is similar, in longevity and sophistication to Nitron No damping adjustment OE Dust boots Fit (Sold separately) OE Bump Stops Fit (Sold separately)
  11. Will get a set for my new setup Watch out for the Discounts they have , normally most weekends
  12. What spring rates are you running on the Nitrons?
  13. TRD Bilstein and Springs Front K=107.8N/mm Rear K= 92.1N/mm
  14. No Rush Chris , Car is off the road , might re-tax it today Its been 10 years on my current setup , my spine is truely gone LOL
  15. Might be worth a try http://www.motamec.com/motamec-spring-cover-coilover-protector-shock-bag-red-13-330mm-long-pair.html http://www.motamec.com/motamec-spring-cover-coilover-protector-shock-bag-black-16-406mm-long-pair.html
  16. What Spring Rates are the Nitron guys running?
  17. Thanks Chris I sent you an email to price me up Just for reference to other members Nitron We suggest servicing every 12-18,000 miles for a road car, obviously if your car is used on the track mainly this mileage is greatly reduced due to the much higher operating temperatures. I always tell customers to regularly check the adjusters are still turning freely and the clicks are still as positive as the day you received them and to keep the piston rod lubricated and free of debris and then to use your best judgment of when they will need to be serviced, most people service every 3-5 years. Sadly we don’t offer dust boots for our shocks, you may be able to find spring socks that would effectively do the same thing. If you want to focus on track performance then obviously you will have to sacrifice compliancy for the road, we try to keep this to a minimum however as performance is our main goal you will notice a difference. We also use spherical bearings rather than rubber mounts so you will encounter more road noise. Spring rates for a track focussed car would be 700lbs front 400lbs rear.
  18. I am more concerned the Battery resides beside the fuel tank with Jubliee Clips holding on Fuel lines , Low pressure or not , a shunt can easy cause it to come off , no fire suit on ! I hate to see the aftermath ! Eamon , in true style , AE86 lads told me to do that and sure it ran in Prodrift like that ! Its doesnt really say much for Prodrift Regulations ! I tired!
  19. Thanks, I wouldn't go near it either !
  20. Thanks Chris! Will let him know, but I think it will fall on deaf ears ; some people get very defensive when you try to help them out but I rather he be safe! I dont think he is finished fully, not too sure what he is doing with the Vent but even though the return is low pressure I would be suspect the Jubilee clip would not hold up in a bad shunt, proper aerospace / motorsport branded fitting is required ?
  21. Quick K , My Friend is turning an AE86 into a Track car , I posted a pic , he is running Fuel lines through the cabin of the car Considering it is a Track car , he wont be wearing a FIA Fire regulated suit etc plus to me running lines in the car does not come across as safe ; I presume some rally teams have to, due to terrain ? I also read , internal hose needs to be of a certain spec , as some is porous , smell of fuel in the cabin can be intoxicating What is best practice ? You can also see on the return , he has a Jublie clip on the Return line!
  22. Hi Chris Do not want to offend but how does your setup compare to Nitron R1(1-Way) ? I think I read yours are a progressive spring as opposed to a straight string on the Nitron , what is the benefit of a progressive spring? How do the valves compare ?
  23. Even Cheaper NTR R1(1-Way) Short build 64 + vat and £95.00 + VAT full rebuild SERVICE LEVELS Nitron offers 2 levels of servicing for all our shocks: Short Rebuild Fully clean and degrease in a chemical tank Oil change Piston assembly strip, inspection and clean Strip and replace shaft seals Strip and replace main body o-rings Full Rebuild All of the Short Rebuild plus: Full main body strip-down, inspection and clean Full replacement of all seals, shims, scrapers and back-up rings End cap removal, inspection, cleaning and re-assembly Adjuster mechanism strip-down, clean, re-calibration and re-assembly Nitrogen re-gas to specified pressure Dyno performance test - - - Updated - - - How are yours working out on the road , ride comfort like and how much mileage on them now?
