1. I have one in my car last two half years now , not too sure if it is triple or twin but she is very heavy! Yours feels like stock....I never drove a stock Supra but the bitting point on mine is about 1/3 of the way up
2. I Know Paul whiffin has one not too sure if any other members do but worth a try!! The Clutch is either a twin or triple , she is a noisy clutch(with the Clutch pedal pressed)! But with the clutch engaged especially coming down the revs she makes one hell of a racket; very loud! It is more pronounced after you push her hard and then go back to normal driving! Weather (humity) also seems to have an effect on the increase in noise! I dont have a concern with the noise of the plates with the clutch dis-engaged but more with the nosie when she is coming down the rev's! Minimum the Clutch is in the car 2.5 years about 17,000 KM I presume clutch is on the way out? or is this normal? Car is BPU
3. Thanks! I hope it is not the pipe, I got it off Lee (SRD)
4. I like the Mag Stars
5. Stickers Add Downforce 52.18mpg, covering 300 miles Petrol @133.9 p/l on a tank of 35 pounds
6. Its like driving a Go-Kart, no power steering , radio's tuner is only MH Freq and not tape or CD deck! Another Top speed run last nite , topped out at 89mph, it was very emotional considering she is 1989
7. The Beast! 1989 Nissan Micra 1.0 Dx, Hatchback, White, Petrol, Manual, 3 Door 43,000 MILES http://photos.donedeal.ie/donedeal/photos2/Full?id=4645595 http://photos.donedeal.ie/donedeal/photos2/Full?id=4645593 http://photos.donedeal.ie/donedeal/photos2/Full?id=4645591 http://photos.donedeal.ie/donedeal/photos2/Full?id=4645594 http://photos.donedeal.ie/donedeal/photos2/Full?id=4645592 http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/180043_1432671236802_1833547789_845754_8071528_n.jpg http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/182065_1432670556785_1833547789_845753_894331_n.jpg http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/184363_1432668916744_1833547789_845751_6584575_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/180929_1432668716739_1833547789_845750_5122935_n.jpg http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/181727_1432668436732_1833547789_845749_2198224_n.jpg
8. My K10 Micra, under steer is comical in the wet and the traction in first and second. I drift the car around cornors!! She has plenty of thread there but I must look at the manufactures date, they may be on the car since new!! 1989 ha ha I wanted to wait till the around October before I get some winter tyres for her; If I put some on now would they function?. Lets face it, its not much of a summer anyway!
9. Now that you say it, it rings a bell; Colin did that, I remember asking him why he had the heating on full whack It was at the end of the day, after a 3 hr drive up there and up since 6am ; I was hwalf dead at that stage!
10. To be honest I only drove her on hot humid days so far, I had the heating down at its lowest and the window open! But I will check her this weekend, I know Colin did check all that but I was day dreaming as usual ha ha! Since it was done I did only drive her a handful of times! Road tax is out again another 365 euro for 3 months Feel like crying handing it over I will bring her for a spin to get her up to temp and check for leaks , thanks again
11. Thanks for the help She is not overheating, if anything running too cold; Colin may of put in 9 liters I just know it was alot. He was working on her for a good 45mins getting any airlocks out and as a precaution I did get the lower Rad pipe changed. I will take a look for any leaks and see how she gets on with the expansion tank topped up; Dunk this is the 2nd top up of the expansion tank so far. She has taken roughly 1 liter in from the first top up & what was orginally in there from the garage! Could well be some air still in the system! When testing for any leaks is it best to bring the car up to temp or is it all the same considering its coolant ?
12. Sure did, I am alone the lines of thinking it is taking in what it needs but as far as I know she took around 7/8 liters Colin did it , Supra Specialest Ireland; just wondering if this is normal after!
13. Hey Just got the complete system flushed, and toyota 4 Life put in! But my Q is aound the expansion tank,I top it up about half way and everytime I seem to drive the car the system takes all the collant from the expansion tank!! When cold I could not even top the car up if I tried; its full but where is all the coolant in the expansion tank going!! Is this normal, Any Idea's! I will check around the expansion tank and hose for leaks but no leaks after she is parked up and no over heating issues. Just curious if anybody else had this?
14. Kits look stunning from a distance but whats the story with the rivets!!! The Volk Wheel makes that car and is my favourite wheel, thats why I had to get them!! I still think Wheels make the car!
15. Tried everywhere , you can use Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W 140 (Formerly SAF-XJ 75w-140) or Motul PA 90;Castrol is what I use! Good stuff, lasts longer Diff takes just under 2 liters
16. Heres the list of oils Carbonetic recommends; Opie oils recommended I use the Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W 140 based on the list below; no issues !! 2 years on Recommendation off Carbonetic All you need is GL-5 85W-90 oil for your LSD. If you cannot find that, the following will be suitable for the LSD; used Brand Name products name Viscosity FR BP X9140S 80W-140 FF BP X9118S 75W-90 FR/FF NUTEC UW76 75W-140 FF ADVANTAG NEO Hi proof shock FR ADVANTAG NEO RHD 75W-90 FR/MR A.S.H 250R 85W-140 FF/FR TOTAL PRO-R 75W-140
17. I have the same Diff (1.5 or 2 way) not sure but its the Carbon ats one! I run Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W 140 (Formerly SAF-XJ 75w-140)-- no chatting, no issues; 75W 140 is recommended by them a few times in the Carbonetic manual http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-736-castrol-syntrax-limited-slip-75w-140-formerly-saf-xj-75w-140.aspx If you want a cheaper oil Motul PA 90 does the trick but I find it does not last near as long!! Its a mineral oil, but oil in the LSD runs its course alot quicker How are you finding the ridicolous frequency of lsd oil changes! Like running a race car, carbonetic told me If it is new, then the oil would need changing at 200 miles. After the first change the second and third is 1500~2000 miles. And after that it is 2000~2500 miles. When the carbon LSD is new, there will be carbon powder in the oil and and this can damage the LSD gears.
18. Sorry to hear that Ric! Always a women behind a man's mis-fortune!
19. Gutted for you!! my friends is on his 3 block in his R34 and that was only pushing out 730 but soon 1000, it will pop again! If money was no object I would rebuild but if you are like the rest of us ; I would just bite the bullet and go back to stock, I dont think you can do anything with a weak block unless it was redesigned
20. 14 mm on mine; install the two posts first with either the center Blade loosened or taken off; then once the pillers are in, tighten up the center blade! I dont have any water ingress but if you want I would put some silicone around the holes on the inside of the boot or a rubber washer! I also run a square washer on the inside for the nut to have a resonable flat surface for it to press against; inside the boot lid is a concave shape
21. Cool (excuse the pun) ; stock sensor sits just below half which I think is about normal After O2 sensor change fuel consumpsion is in lines with normal mpg other guys are getting ; probably just an inaccurate reading as you said That Coffee Time; thanks for the help, I always wonder could you run your car too cold and now I know!
