  1. It is on both Struts , the Solenoid (what looks like one) Interesting! I taught it was OEM, something got to do with the OEM G Force sensor Mine does sound a beep when put in reverse, but I taught this is normal on Jap imports
  2. What is the Black rear solenoid for on the rear strut? Surface rust normal, should I remove it?
  3. But I presume thats with Cats in ; looking at the vid on youtube it sounds way over 98 with the decats and Hi power silent
  4. Thanks I will have a listen on youtube! What exhausts are around the 98db? HKS hi power silent? I am fully decatted
  5. Hey Supra is Fully decatted Paul measured the twin box 3" at 94DB, just wondering if it is too quiet? Tried looking on youtube but its hard to reference how loud it is, is 94db stupid loud as in drone on motorways anybody know of anything I can reference it against? thanks
  6. I hope it looks similar to this Artisits Impression Petrol Lump and KERS is my guess https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/3511_3285959007838_166301111_n.jpg
  7. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?280571-Supra-Successor-Interesting-developmrnts Tesla and Toyota signed an agreement nearly two years Tesla Model S drivetrain could serve as the basis for a number of new vehicles , hopefully not the Supra
  8. Quote I got last week basted on latest Autumn syvecs price list; you get them from syvecs Extras 8 Position Calibration Switch €33.83 4 Bar Mapsensor Kit with plug €163.01 3 Port Boost Solinoid €52.09 Bosch Wideband Knock Sensor €94.10 Full knock control upgrade for S6 €196.49
  9. I was also looking into this, especially when a new firmware becomes available. Does Ryan need to tweak the ECU if a new feature is applicable to your car? Or do you just leave it on the firmware Ryan set it up on Reading on the Syvecs website, you need to save the Map file, then install the new Firmware , then reload Ryans custom Map File ; but what if you have difficulties loading the Map file? It can get very $$ if you keep flying Ryan back and forth, from looking at the Syvecs website they seem to have a new firware update every 2-3 months
  10. I know it was mentioned before but the Tesla and Gt86 platform plus the commitment of the Toyota president are new developments
  11. SUPRA SUCCESSOR TO BE AN EV? Off carbuzz In its quest to better balance green friendly technology with building more driver's cars, Toyota is considering making its new Supra an EV.We've heard the rumors before and it seems that Toyota is now absolutely intent on reviving the Supra nameplate on an all-new 21st century performance sports car. But there's a catch: the new Supra could be an EV.According to a report from The Detroit Bureau, not only is the return of the Supra all but certain, but that Toyota president Akio Toyoda wants it ready "as soon as possible." However, earlier reports suggesting that the GT86 platform could serve as the basis for the new car may be wide of the mark.Instead, wait for it: the drivetrain from the Tesla Model S could be assigned the task. Tesla?! Say what? For those who don't recall, the two automakers signed an agreement nearly two years ago that would allow Tesla to share battery and other EV technology with Toyota in exchange for other areas of expertise. The only Toyota product to emerge from this deal so far has been the RAV4-EV, so it makes sense the big automaker wants to get the best bang for its buck. Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently hinted the Model S drivetrain could serve as the basis for a number of new vehicles, such as a BMW 3 Series competitor.By going with a battery-powered Supra, according to GT86 chief engineer Tetsuya Tada, Toyota could accomplish its two main current goals: balance its green friendly image with building some cars that are fun to drive.Interestingly, Toyota's future sports car desires don't stop here. The MR2 is also set to make a return but few details are known. More than likely, it will remain mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive and may even be smaller than the GT86. The Supra does take priority over the MR2 and we wouldn't disapprove if the FT-HS Concept (pictured) served as the design basis.
  12. Hey Planning on getting the Car oil pump, water pump all done in 2013; was told by the Supra garage they will check the Bearing Shells. I reckon she will have a little over 100 K miles on her by then, is it good practice to do the Shells too; is it a big Job, is this what is considered a bottom end rebuild shells, bearings Probably will get the T belt done again too (last done at 50K miles) as it all has to come off in anyway Any other jobs worth doing, new crank pulley for instance Or am I just off my head, you are better waiting for it to go
  13. Thanks Dunk, alwyas taught you check them when they are stone cold - - - Updated - - - Yes, Yes I am
  14. Is there any trick to checking the oil level on the Supra; the dipstick is crap; everytime I look at it , it at the correct level but when I was at SSI it need about 0.5 of a litre. Any knack to checking the oil level?
  15. http://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/products/electronics/monitor/ob-link/index.html Nice bit of kit, maybe it can hook into the Syvecs
  16. My filter is relocated under the front cross subframe Thanks Geo
  17. Do you need to remove the undertray to do an oil change?
  18. If you check out build threads on here, you either do it right first time using quality parts or you end up wasting money buying inadequate parts with fitment/reliabilty issues. You Pay for what you get Why not just leave the stock intake in place and upgrade later, it sounds like you dont have the budget for an intake at this time or maybe try and source a 2nd hand reputable branded intake
  19. But you have to admit , they do look good under there!
  20. Thanks I just cant do it John! But the Paln is to buy them again in 18 with the correct offsets! - - - Updated - - - Thanks!
